L’objet de ce dossier vise à croiser les regards et les approches disciplinaires pour proposer des analyses plurielles de la crise sanitaire COVID-19 en Turquie. Les différentes approches font ...émerger des questionnements transversaux. Un premier questionnement tient à la pertinence des différents pouvoirs (locaux, étatiques, internationaux) face à des épidémies qui présentent toutes des spécificités, tant du point de vue de la diffusion et de la prévention, que des savoirs ou de la prise en charge. Une deuxième interrogation transversale porte sur la compénétration des pratiques et rituels sociaux et des dispositifs techniques. Les épidémies transforment le quotidien en validant ou répudiant certaines pratiques, et en induisant des réponses techniques qui sont à leur tour ritualisées. Comment interpréter cette transformation des pratiques ? Un troisième questionnement porte sur la frontière entre experts et profanes et à son évolution dans la temporalité de la pandémie. L’idée qu’un événement de l’ampleur d’une épidémie nécessitait une réponse organisée, et par conséquent un pilotage politico-sanitaire surplombant s’est heurtée à la durée de la pandémie, à l’évolution des connaissances à son sujet et à la compétition des objectifs stratégiques des politiques publiques, même lorsque ceux-ci, la santé et l’économie notamment, ne pouvaient aller l’un sans l’autre.
La pandémie de COVID-19 a frappé la Turquie à partir du mois de mars. Le gouvernement turc a suivi peu ou prou la même stratégie adoptée par la plupart des gouvernements européens. D’une part, des ...mesures de confinement ont été introduites à partir du mois d’avril et d’autre part, diverses mesures de soutien telles qu’ajournement d’impôts, transferts de revenus aux ménages pauvres, garanties publiques au crédit bancaire, subventions salariales aux travailleurs en chômage partiel ont été lancées pour amortir les effets du choc sur les revenus et l’emploi. En mai, Le gouvernement turc a même interdit aux employeurs de licencier leurs employés tout en leur accordant le droit de les mettre en congé sans solde. Ces diverses mesures ont pu certainement limiter la contraction du PIB au deuxième semestre mais une contraction tout de même sévère a provoqué la perte de 2 millions d’emplois. Le taux de chômage déjà élevé à la veille de la pandémie (14,8 %) a fait un bond appréciable (à 16,5 %) mais en fait le niveau atteint par le chômage officiel a été largement sous-estimé dans la mesure où le nombre de chômeurs n’a augmenté que de 155 000 ; cela sans compter plus d’un million de travailleurs, officiellement en emploi mais sans travail.
By employing cross-sectional data obtained from Survey of Income and Living Conditions for the years from 2007 to 2011, we analyze the identification problem of the poor by using both monetary and ...non-monetary measures. We classify the poor into the following categories: (i) poor in monetary and nonmonetary measures, (ii) poor in monetary measure only, (iii) poor in non-monetary measure only, and (iv) non-poor in both categories. We examine the determinants of each category by utilizing the probit model and find that the share of workers in adults - or the share of informal or agricultural workers - creates some disparities between poverty at a country and regional level.

Will Turkey become a regional power in the near future? This is a question that plagues the European Union above all, because Turkey is now seeking membership of the EU, in what has turned out to be ...a problematic process. The United States is also concerned, because they fear that in future they might not be able to rely on a crucial ally. Moreover, Russia is not sure where exactly Turkey's identity lies: is it a rising adversary or a potential ally against Western powers? Middle Eastern leaders and populations are turning more and more towards Turkey, either to create a new ally or to draw inspiration from it. According to the Justice and Development Party (AKP), in power since 2003, Turkey is on the path to becoming a major regional power, even if it is not one already. Its demographic power, economic strength, and indisputable role in energy geostrategy are elements that go towards proving this fact.

and which boasts a "Muslim" democracy with a modern army and advanced national defense industry, should eventually come to effect change at the Euro-Asiatic crossroads. This change may be for the better or for the worse.
Purpose
To compare the efficacy of the fixed combination of brimonidine–timolol (FCBT) and the fixed combination of brinzolamide–timolol (FCBZT) treatments for elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) ...after phacoemulsification cataract surgery.
Methods
A randomised, prospective, double-blinded study was conducted on 277 eyes of 257 patients who underwent phacoemulsification cataract surgery. Patients were divided into three groups based on the medication administered after cataract surgery as follows: FCBT, FCBZT and a control group where no antiglaucoma medications were used. IOP was recorded at preoperative and postoperative hours 6 and 24 and days 3 and 5.
Results
No statistical differences were observed among the groups regarding age, sex and baseline IOP levels (

> 0.05). Mean IOP levels were significantly lower in the treatment groups than in the control group at postoperative hours 6 and 24 and days 3 and 5 (

< 0.001). Administration of one drop of FCBT or FCBZT demonstrated similar effects on preventing IOP spikes within 24 h of phacoemulsification cataract surgery. FCBZT more effectively lowered IOP than FCBT at days 3 and 5 (
p
< 0.05).
Conclusions
We demonstrate that the postoperative administration of FCBT or FCBZT is effective in lowering IOP after phacoemulsification cataract surgery; FCBZT more effectively lowered IOP than FCBT at postoperative days 3 and 5.
