Adult Lower Secondary Education is an education program for basic qualifications for the labor market. Our study aimed to compare lifetime mental health problems between current Adult Lower Secondary ...Education students and higher Vocational Education students, as the former constitutes a highly distinct and understudied group.
Findings were based on a cross-sectional self-report survey. Lifetime relative odds of occurrence of mental disorders i.e., psychiatric disorders typically diagnosed in adults, learning difficulties or deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) were compared between Adult Lower Secondary Education students (
= 134) and Vocational Education students (
= 149).
While the frequency of mental health problems was high in both groups, psychiatric disorders typically diagnosed in adults were more common in Adult Lower Secondary Education students than among other students. Vocational Education students reported higher rates of ADHD.
There is a need for additional psychological resources for Adult Lower Secondary Education students, an educational level that is the last path for many to acquire a basic degree.
Previous research has suggested the prevalence of certain personality traits, some of which are related to a disorganized attachment, in substance abuse disorders. Further, frustration tolerance (FT) ...has been proposed as an important factor in addiction, both at the inception-following the "self-medication" hypothesis-and regarding treatment compliance. In turn, an inadequate response to frustrating events has been also associated with a disrupted attachment. Our goal is to explore the mediational role of FT in the relationship between personality traits and two different treatments for substance addiction: therapeutic community (TC) and ambulatory treatment (AT). Eighty-four subjects with substance abuse disorder were recruited in total (22 female), including 46 volunteers (13 female) in TC and 38 (9 female) in AT. They were assessed with Rosenzweig's test for FT and the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-III (MCMI-III) test to evaluate personality factors. By comparing with a control sample (335 volunteers, 268 female), we found that FT was lower in patients. Between therapeutic groups, FT was significantly lower in TC. Depressive, antisocial, sadistic, negativistic, schizotypal, borderline, paranoid, anxiety, dysthymia, alcohol use, drug use, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), thought disorder, and delusional disorder traits were suggestive of pathology in the clinical samples and were significantly different between control, AT, and TC groups. Further, anxiety and PTSD traits were higher in TC than in AT. A mediational analysis revealed that the effect of anxiety and PTSD scales on therapeutic group was partially mediated by FT. In conclusion, FT and its interplay with personality traits commonly related to disorganized attachment (anxiety and PTSD) might be important factors to consider within therapeutic programs for persons with substance addiction.
Purpose
To assess forward intraocular scattering by means of a new parameter (Frequency Scatter Index, FSI3) based on the analysing double‐pass retinal images in the frequency domain, which minimizes ...the impact of aberrations on the results.
Methods
A prospective observational study was carried out in the Department of Ophthalmology, Hospital Universitari Mútua de Terrassa (Spain) on a group of 19 patients diagnosed with nuclear cataracts of various LOCSIII grades and a control group (CG) with nine healthy eyes. We recorded double‐pass retinal images with a custom set‐up based on a high‐sensitivity digital camera. The FSI3 was then computed using spatial frequencies below three cycles per degree. A preliminary validation of the FSI3 was performed on an artificial eye and two eyes of volunteers with and without commercial diffusers, and under defocus.
Results
The FSI3 was hardly affected by defocus values up to 2.50 D. The mean (and standard deviation) FSI3 values were as follows: for the CG, 1.19 (0.21); and for LOCSIII grades nuclear opacity 1, 2 and 3, 1.30 (0.12), 1.62 (0.21) and 1.85 (0.21), respectively. Eyes with cataracts showed FSI3 values significantly different than healthy eyes (p = 0.001). A good correlation (ρ = 0.861, p < 0.001) was found between the FSI3 and objective scatter index provided by a commercial instrument.
Conclusion
Since aberrations have little impact on the FSI3, the light scatter assessment becomes less dependent on the patient's refractive error compensation and the presence of higher‐order aberrations. The FSI3 can further the clinical and scientific understanding of forward intraocular scattering.

The Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre is the public service responsible for managing all the incidents registered in the Canary Islands. More than 7 million records have been collected in the last decade with more than twenty observed variables for each incident, which comprise more than 140 million data. All these data emanate from different islands and municipalities but with very marked differences. The study in this paper presents complete and novel research about geographical and temporal incident distribution, which may be of interest to emergency services managers and people responsible for designing public policies concerning security and health matters. We have developed an analytical web platform that features several dashboards with statistically significant results, by island, municipality, etc., and incorporating certain external data sources regarding social and economic issues which allow us to study the relationship between these factors and incident distribution at different geographical levels. Certain specific results are presented and illustrated in order to show all dimensions of data analytics that not only significantly improve companies’ and organizations’ processes, but also demonstrate how data analytics competency relates to decision making performance. Several statistical models that forecast and classify the incidents are proposed to illustrate the potential of statistical modelling in the study. The application has become into a crucial strategic tool for the organization because it helps in decision making processes. The information provided is highly modular and allows for the future inclusion of new features in order to provide larger and improved data analyses.

We present NanoDJ, a Jupyter ...notebook integration of tools for simplified manipulation and assembly of DNA sequences produced by ONT devices. It integrates basecalling, read trimming and quality control, simulation and plotting routines with a variety of widely used aligners and assemblers, including procedures for hybrid assembly.
With the use of Jupyter-facilitated access to self-explanatory contents of applications and the interactive visualization of results, as well as by its distribution into a Docker software container, NanoDJ is aimed to simplify and make more reproducible ONT DNA sequence analysis. Double-pass systems rely on backscattering of light by the human ocular fundus to assess the optical quality of the eye. In this work, we present a method to reduce double-pass image degradation ...caused by undesired multiple scattering effects in the eye fundus. The reduction is based on combined data processing of simultaneous measurements using two different configurations: one symmetric with equal entrance and exit pupils and another asymmetric with unequal entrance and exit pupils. Under certain conditions, such scattering effects may be effectively suppressed. Measurements of human eyes show that, although multiple fundus scattering imposes a shift on the estimations, double-pass systems can be used to predict the optical quality of the eye within a population.
Companies face the challenge of managing customer relationships (CRM) in a context marked by a drastic digital transformation and unbridled evolution of consumer behavior, exacerbated by the COVID-19 ...pandemic. The customer is more demanding, has access to the global market and interacts with companies through multiple digital channels, such as email, social networks, mobile apps or instant messaging. In this situation, the success of a CRM implementation highly depends on information technology and the applications used. To harmonize this new business context with the development of information systems (IS), a suitable CRM ontology and enterprise architecture (EA) is needed. While an ontology-based conceptual model provides a unifying framework, aids sharing and reusing knowledge, and facilitates communication within a domain, an EA-based model unequivocally describes, analyzes, and visualizes how an organization should operate from the perspective of business, application, and technology. The purpose of the paper is the proposal of CURIE-O, a CRM OntoUML UFO-based ontology, together with CURIE-EA, a CRM ArchiMate-based EA to serve business managers and IS specialists an updated unifying framework of reference in the CRM domain as well as a highly efficient tool to support application development and maintenance in this changing and increasingly digital context. Modeling has proven to be an essential element to achieve high-performance information systems. In order to apply the ontology and the EA proposed here, the authors developed a CRM task management application prototype that was implemented as a case study in a consulting company. The methodology followed was design science research (DSR), in order to design and validate the artifacts. Within the DSR framework, other complementary research methods have been used, in particular literature research, interviews and focus groups carried out with several hotel chains in Tenerife (Canary Islands). The main existing CRM models in the scientific literature have also been analyzed together with the leading CRM market solutions.
A previous work has reported a methodology to quantify intraocular scattering using a high sensitivity double-pass instrument with a robust index, the frequency scatter index. The purpose of our ...study was to evaluate an adaptation of the frequency scatter index for use in clinical double-pass systems. A prospective observational study was carried out in a group of patients with nuclear cataracts (n = 52) and in a control group (n = 11) using conventional double-pass systems. The frequency scatter index and the objective scatter index were used to assess the scattering. The Spearman coefficient was calculated to assess the correlation between both indexes, obtained from the double-pass images. Simultaneous measurements were performed with a double-pass and with a Hartmann-Shack wavefront sensor in the control group. The root-mean-square wavefront error and the full width at half maximum of the double-pass image were used to quantify the residual aberrations introduced by the variations in pupil size and retinal eccentricity. Measurement in eyes with different grades of cataracts shows a strong correlation (ρ = 0.929, p < .0001) between the frequency scatter index and the objective scatter index. A certain degree of correlation was observed between the objective scatter index and the root-mean-square and between the objective scatter index and the full width at half maximum, both for measurements with a different pupillary diameter and with a different retinal eccentricity (p < .05). No relationship was observed between the frequency scatter index and the root-mean-square or between the frequency scatter index and the full width at half maximum (p > .05). We have introduced and evaluated an adaptation of a methodology proposed recently for the measurement of intraocular scattering using the double-pass technique with a robust index, which is less affected by ocular aberrations. The frequency scatter index can be applied to conventional double-pass instruments available in clinical environments.
This is a consensus document of the Spanish Society of Cardiovascular Infections (

These three entities have brought together a multidisciplinary group of experts that includes anaesthesiologists, cardiac and cardiothoracic surgeons, clinical microbiologists, infectious diseases and intensive care specialists, internal medicine doctors and radiologists. Despite the clinical and economic consequences of sternal wound infections, to date, there are no specific guidelines for the prevention, diagnosis and management of mediastinitis based on a multidisciplinary consensus. The purpose of the present document is to provide evidence-based guidance on the most effective diagnosis and management of patients who have experienced or are at risk of developing a post-surgical mediastinitis infection in order to optimise patient outcomes and the process of care. The intended users of the document are health care providers who help patients make decisions regarding their treatment, aiming to optimise the benefits and minimise any harm as well as the workload.
