In this brief, based on the method of penalty functions, a recurrent neural network (NN) modeled by means of a differential inclusion is proposed for solving the bilevel linear programming problem ...(BLPP). Compared with the existing NNs for BLPP, the model has the least number of state variables and simple structure. Using nonsmooth analysis, the theory of differential inclusions, and Lyapunov-like method, the equilibrium point sequence of the proposed NNs can approximately converge to an optimal solution of BLPP under certain conditions. Finally, the numerical simulations of a supply chain distribution model have shown excellent performance of the proposed recurrent NNs.
Single image deraining has become an important preprocessing task in the multimedia area, improving the performance of subsequent high-level computer vision tasks in rainy weather significantly. ...Previous efforts to restore rain-damaged images have mostly concentrated on feature extraction and contextual information mining. The fact that rain streaks and the background are frequently intermingled during the deraining process is ignored by the majority of these methods, which leads to redundant features and somewhat restricts the generalizability of deraining networks in real-world rainy situations. To address this issue, we present a novel multi-scale single image deraining network called Feature Decoupling and Reorganization Network (FDRNet). FDRNet introduces Dilated Pyramid Split Attention Module (DPSAM) to decouple input features and reorganize extracted features. Additionally, we propose a Dual Prior Fusion Module (DPFM) to extract and fuse prior information from images, which is demonstrated to support the preservation of structural information and the restoration of details. Extensive experiments on both synthetic and real-world datasets show that our proposed method achieves state-of-the-art results.
In this paper, a finite-time lag synchronization of coupled neural networks with time delay is investigated. By means of the Lyapunov stability theory, a feedback controller is designed for achieving ...lag synchronization between two delayed neural networks systems in finite time. Paper extends some basic results from the area of finite time to time-delay systems. Numerical simulations on coupled Lu neural systems illustrate the effectiveness of the results.
Near-infrared (NIR) persistent-luminescence nanoparticles have emerged as a new class of background-free contrast agents that are promising for in vivo imaging. The next key roadblock is to establish ...a robust and controllable method for synthesizing monodisperse nanoparticles with high luminescence brightness and long persistent duration. Herein, we report a synthesis strategy involving the coating/etching of the SiO2 shell to obtain a new class of small NIR highly persistent luminescent ZnGa2O4:Cr^3+,Sn^4+(ZGOCS) nanoparticles. The optimized ZGOCS nanoparticles have an excellent size distribution of -15 nm without any agglomeration and an NIR persistent luminescence that is enhanced by a factor of 13.5, owing to the key role of the SiO2 shell in preventing nanoparticle agglomeration after annealing. The ZGOCS nanoparticles have a signal-to-noise ratio -3 times higher than that of previously reported ZnGa204:Cr^3+ (ZGC-1) nanoparticles as an NIR persistent-luminescence probe for in vivo bioimaging. Moreover, the persistent-luminescence signal from the ZGOCS nanoparticles can be repeatedly re-charged in situ with external excitation by a white light- emitting diode; thus, the nanopartides are suitable for long-term in vivo imaging applications. Our study suggests an improved strategy for fabricating novel high-performance optical nanoparticles with good biocompatibility.
This paper presents a microgrid system model considering three types of load and the user’s satisfaction function. The objective function with mixed zero-one programming is used to maximize every ...user’s profit and satisfaction in the way of the demand response management under real-time price. An energy function is used to transform the constrained problem into an unconstrained problem, and two neural networks are used to find the local optimal solutions of the objective function with different rates of convergence. A neurodynamic approach is used to combine the neural networks with the particle swarm optimization to find the global optimal solution of the objective function. The simulation results show that the combined approach is effective in solving the optimal problem.
Transcription coactivator Yes-associated protein (YAP) plays an important role in the regulation of cell proliferation and apoptosis. Here, we identify a new role of YAP in the regulation of cellular ...senescence. We find that the expression levels of YAP proteins decrease following the replication-induced cellular senescence in IMR90 cells. Silencing of YAP inhibits cell proliferation and induces premature senescence. In additional experiments, we observe that cellular senescence induced by YAP deficiency is TEAD- and Rb/p16/p53-dependent. Furthermore, we show that Cdk6 is a direct downstream target gene of YAP in the regulation of cellular senescence, and the expression of Cdk6 is through the YAP-TEAD complex. Ectopic expression of Cdk6 rescued YAP knockdown-induced senescence. Finally, we find that downregulation of YAP in tumor cells increases senescence in response to chemotherapeutic agents, and YAP or Cdk6 expression rescues cellular senescence. Taken together, our findings define the critical role of YAP in the regulation of cellular senescence and provide a novel insight into a potential chemotherapeutic avenue for tumor suppression.

Newer analgesic modalities, including regional blocks, have ...promoted the proliferation of less invasive anesthesia care for ablative procedures. This study evaluates whether bilateral paravertebral blocks reduce the need for additional analgesics in comparison to unilateral blocks in microwave ablations. In this retrospective study, individuals undergoing microwave ablation who underwent unilateral versus bilateral nerve blocks at a single institution from 2017 to 2019 were compared. = 0.05. Regression modeling was used to identify factors related to increased MME (milligram morphine equivalent) usage and post-procedure admission rates. A total of 106 patients undergoing 112 liver MWA procedures were included in this analysis, with patients receiving either a bilateral or unilateral block. Pre-procedural characteristics demonstrated no significant differences in age or gender. Bilateral blocks were associated with decreased usage of gabapentin (14% vs. 0%, p = 0.01) and a lower rate of post-procedure admissions (OR 0.23, p = 0.003). Therefore, when using paravertebral blocks, bilateral blocks are superior to unilateral blocks, as demonstrated by decreased rates of hospital admission and reduced use of systemic neuropathic pain medication. Additionally, reducing post-procedural MME may reduce the rate of admission to the hospital.
7,8-dihydroxyflavone (7,8-DHF), a newly identified small molecular TrkB receptor agonist, rapidly activates TrkB in both primary neurons and the rodent brain and mimics the physiological functions of ...the cognate ligand BDNF. Accumulating evidence supports that 7,8-DHF exerts neurotrophic effects in a TrkB-dependent manner. Nonetheless, the differences between 7,8-DHF and BDNF in activating TrkB remain incompletely understood. Here we show that 7,8-DHF and BDNF exhibit different TrkB activation kinetics in which TrkB maturation may be implicated. Employing two independent biophysical approaches, we confirm that 7,8-DHF interacts robustly with the TrkB extracellular domain, with a Kd of ∼10 nm. Although BDNF transiently activates TrkB, leading to receptor internalization and ubiquitination/degradation, in contrast, 7,8-DHF-triggered TrkB phosphorylation lasts for hours, and the internalized receptors are not degraded. Notably, primary neuronal maturation may be required for 7,8-DHF but not for BDNF to elicit the full spectrum of TrkB signaling cascades. Hence, 7,8-DHF interacts robustly with the TrkB receptor, and its agonistic effect may be mediated by neuronal development and maturation.
A 54-year-old female with a gastrostomy tube presented with persistent nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. On physical examination, the gastrostomy tube was completely advanced into the abdominal ...cavity with only the external retention ring and hub on the exterior. The first step in the workup was obtaining a scout radiograph. This imaging was appropriate to show the location of the gastrostomy catheter which was overlying the left upper quadrant. The distal tip was heading in the direction of the left lower quadrant. The course of the gastrostomy catheter did not follow the expected direction of the duodenal C-loop. Proceeding forward, contrast was injected through the existing catheter which showed opacification of the jejunal bowel loops. The patient could now be properly diagnosed with gastroenteric intussusception and proper measures could be taken. Following the injected contrast showing jejunal opacification, a stiff Glidewire was advanced through the existing catheter all the way into the jejunum. Deflation of the balloon and removal of the catheter caused an almost instantaneous change in the course of the Glidewire to the more conventional path following the course of the duodenal C-loop. A sheath was then advanced over the wire which was now shown crossing the midline in the proper gastroduodenojejunal course. The final step was to advance a new 22-French MIC gastrostomy catheter over the Glidewire. The contrast was then injected to demonstrate proper opacification of the rugal folds and gastric fundus. The patient reported an immediate resolution of symptoms and was later discharged.
In this paper, an economic emission dispatch (EED) model is developed to reduce fuel cost and environmental pollution emissions. Considering the development of new energy sources in recent years, the ...EED problem involves thermal units with the valve point effect and WTs. Meanwhile, it complies with demand constraint and generator capacity constraints. A recurrent neural network (RNN) is proposed to search for local optimal solution of the introduced nonconvex EED problem. The optimality and convergence of the proposed dynamic model are given. The RNN algorithm is verified on a power generation system for the optimization of scheduling and minimization of total cost. Moreover, a particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is compared with RNN under the same problematic frame. Numerical simulation results demonstrate that the optimal scheduling given by RNN is more precise and has lower total cost than PSO. In addition, the dynamic variation of power load demand is considered and the power distribution of eight generators during 12 time periods is depicted.
