This study evaluated the stability of vitamins C, E and β-carotene in six samples of bee pollen after their process, and in a one-year period of storage. After the pollen's process, there was a 67.1% ...increase for vitamin C (p <0.05), an 18.7% loss for vitamin E and 15.6% for β-carotene. Storage in freezer was the most efficient condition for the vitamins conservation; the loss in storage at room temperature (exposed or protected from light) was similar. Vitamin E appears to be better preserved during storage when compared to vitamin C and β-carotene.
Context.
HNCO and SiO are well-known shock tracers and have been observed in nearby galaxies, including the nearby (
D
= 3.5 Mpc) starburst galaxy NGC 253. The simultaneous detection of these two ...species in regions where the star-formation rate is high may be used to study the shock history of the gas.
Aims.
We perform a multi-line molecular study of NGC 253 using the shock tracers SiO and HNCO and aim to characterize its gas properties. We also explore the possibility of reconstructing the shock history in the central molecular zone (CMZ) of the galaxy.
Methods.
Six SiO transitions and eleven HNCO transitions were imaged at high resolution 1
.
″
6 (28 pc) with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) as part of the ALCHEMI Large Programme. Both non local thermaldynamic equilibrium (non-LTE) radiative transfer analysis and chemical modeling were performed in order to characterize the gas properties and investigate the chemical origin of the emission.
Results.
The nonLTE radiative transfer analysis coupled with Bayesian inference shows clear evidence that the gas traced by SiO has different densities and temperatures than that traced by HNCO, with an indication that shocks are needed to produce both species. Chemical modeling further confirms such a scenario and suggests that fast and slow shocks are responsible for SiO and HNCO production, respectively, in most GMCs. We are also able to infer the physical characteristics of the shocks traced by SiO and HNCO for each GMC.
Conclusions.
Radiative transfer and chemical analysis of the SiO and HNCO in the CMZ of NGC 253 reveal a complex picture whereby most of the GMCs are subjected to shocks. We speculate on the possible shock scenarios responsible for the observed emission and provide potential history and timescales for each shock scenario. Observations of higher spatial resolution for these two species are required in order to quantitatively differentiate between the possible scenarios.

CP-violating box graphs. Some exemplificative observables are analyzed and the relevance of both the contributions is pointed out. The one-loop expressions for the electromagnetic and weak dipole form factors in a general renormalizable theory and the SM and MSSM couplings and conventions are also given.
Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) patients present dyslipidemia and functional disability. Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and coconut oil have been shown to be effective against dyslipidemia. ...Objective: To analyze the relationship between lipid profiles, fat consumption, and functional disability in patients with MS after administering EGCG and coconut oil. Methods: A four-month pilot study was conducted on 45 MS patients, divided into an intervention group (IG) and a control group (CG). The IG received 800 mg of EGCG and 60 mL of coconut oil. Lipid profiles were measured before and after the intervention, along with other data such as dietary habits, inflammatory markers, and functional capacity. Results: Dyslipidemia did not correlate with the patients’ fat consumption. After the intervention, triglycerides (TG) levels were lower in IG compared to CG. This decrease was positively correlated with an improvement in functional disability (determined by the Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS)) and negatively with high-density cholesterol (HDL) and apolipoprotein A1. Significant and positive correlations were observed between EDSS and C-reactive protein (CRP) in the IG. These changes in the IG could be related to body fat decrease, whose percentage shows a positive correlation with CRP and TG levels, and a negative correlation with HDL levels. Conclusions: Patients with MS present a certain type of dyslipemia not associated with their nutritional habits. The administration of EGCG and coconut oil seems to decrease blood TG levels, which could explain the functional improvements.

Objetivou-se identificar o perfil e as causas de morte em mulheres no ciclo gravídico puerperal na maternidade de um hospital público do interior do Piauí. Estudo retrospectivo, transversal com ...abordagem quantitativa com todas as mulheres que faleceram durante o ciclo gravídico puerperal período de janeiro de 2012 a julho de 2022. Utilizou-se um formulário no qual consta informações sobre as características epidemiológicas e clinicas das pacientes. Foram encontrados 13 óbitos maternos com uma taxa de incidência de 0.53%o, com maior número de óbitos durante o ano de 2013. Observou-se uma grande flutuação na razão de mortalidade materna em que não houve uma constância entre os anos. A maioria das mulheres que vieram a óbito na instituição estudada, eram jovens, pardas, lavradoras, com ensino médio completo, multíparas, estavam em uma união estável e no puerpério. A principal causa de mortalidade materna estava relacionada as síndromes hipertensivas no ciclo gravídico puerperal.

In this paper we present an overview of the MAGNA (Multiple AGN Activity) project aiming at a comprehensive study of multiple super‐massive black hole systems. With the main goal of characterizing ...the sources in merging systems at different stages of evolution, we selected a sample of objects optically classified as multiple systems on the basis of emission line diagnostics and started a massive multiband observational campaign. Here we report on the discovery of the exceptionally high active galactic nuclei (AGN) density compact group SDSS (Sloan Digital Sky Survey) J0959+1259. A multiband study suggests that strong interactions are taking place among its galaxies through tidal forces, and therefore this system represents a case study for physical mechanisms that trigger nuclear activity and star formation. We also present a preliminary analysis of the multiple AGN system SDSS J1038+3921.
