Even if it is a tangible, symbol belongs to the domain of the image because we experience it with sight. It is precisely this original domain that is the link that completes communication, because ...after all, before language there was an image provided to us by the organ of sight, the eye. We first saw, and only later adopted the language which proves the analogy of the connection of these two forms of communication. What we cannot say with language, we try to convey with a picture. Every culture complemented this communication problem with a symbol that sought to touch the sacred, the unspeakable. At first glance sometimes by a different form, but with a common essence. The course of the development of the symbolic form, what it represented and how man used it in the past and how it is used now, seeks to show within the opinions and research of individual authors who have dealt with the problem of symbolic form. This is also the introductory part of the doctoral thesis “Sculpture as a symbolic form in the artistic-ritual act - Nexus” which sought to prove the universality of the individual creative process as a form that allows man to self-knowledge.
Konkretnijim sudjelovanjem omogućujemo dublje poniranje u sam proces i benefit njegovog iskustva.
At the philosophical symposium “Media Philosophy”, I would like to emphasize the necessity of a conscious, active, direct, but sustainable, creative relationship with nature and ideas. The innate connection between human beings, nature, and the cosmos is compromised by immersion in a virtual web of information and applications, and by the technical apparatus, targeted by the scientific and technological discourse of civilization. Through active imagination, intuitive action based on experience, it is necessary to turn to simple, renewable sources of matter and energy. With a more concrete participation, we allow a deeper immersion in the process itself and the benefits of its experience. With my own example, I would like to symbolically point out, but also open the space for thought and action. Coffee, hand ground and brewed at the symposium site will be served in handmade ceramic sculptures/cups. The gathering of participants and drinking coffee together at the Philosophical Symposium will create a space for Poets, Philosophers, Artists, and Intuitives with an active imagination.

Talking about the process of emergence and the symbolic significance of the sculpture installation „Dance of Life“, it will try to present the idea of intuitive geometry that has made the sculptural ...installation itself. Intuitive geometry is the search principle for the archetypal forms of life and things, aligning with the law of wholeness, shape of sphere and spiral movement. A man who seeks to perceive himself and the world, by the process of repeated dialogue with the same world, transforms his being. The consciousness of the being that is spreading gives a man insight, and according to the princple of aspiration, the laws that make it all exist, remain in motion and disappear, man harmonise his life and principles of action. The same principles apply to the sculpture domain as the idea of a shaped form. As one of the beings in nature, of the great organism, man has the ability to create by the same laws, by attempt and mistakes, by experience and cognition. With intuitive geometry of love and intelligence, man creates using all his tools; body, energy, feelings and mind in more harmonious relationships, depending on the state of consciousness of being.

Intuitivnom geometrijom s ljubavlju i inteligencijom, čovjek kreira koristeći sve svoje alate; tijelo, energiju, osjećaje, racio u usklađenijim odnosima, zavisno od stanja svijesti bića.
The prediction of future weather patterns has recently become a very important research area due to the ongoing climate change process which causes extreme weather events and rapidly changing weather ...patterns. In this paper we compare the prediction accuracy of eight data-driven methods, which had been developed for time series prediction, on future weather patterns in central Croatia. The evaluated methods are Seasonal naïve, AutoRegressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA), Error-Trend-Seasonality (ETS), Exponential smoothing state space model with Box-Cox transformation (TBATS), Dynamic Harmonic Regression (DHR), Neural Network AutoRegression (NNAR), Support Vector Regression (SVR) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). In our experimental evaluation, we use a historical data from 1961 to 2017 that contains temperature, air pressure and precipitation values for eight weather stations in central Croatia, and indices from two atmospheric oscillations, namely North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and Arctic Oscillation (AO). The results of our evaluation show that SVR is the best method, and that DHR and NNAR methods are also better than the other evaluated methods, as far as the accuracy of prediction is concerned. Among DHR and NNAR methods, DHR method is better for the prediction of temperature and air pressure, while NNAR method is better for the prediction of precipitation. Additionally, our evaluation shows that SVR, DHR and NNAR methods achieve a better prediction accuracy when oscillation indices are included as additional predictors.
Age-related macular degeneration (ARMD) is the leading cause of blindness in developed world but there are still much unknown facts about the disease itself. Age, genetic factors and smoking are the ...three main risk factors for the development of ARMD, but the exact pathophysiological
mechanism of the disease remains unknown. Current high resolution optical coherence tomography devices provide ample new information on retinal layers, drusen characteristics and their interaction. In this study, we analyzed 44 eyes with drusiform dry ARMD using high resolution optical
coherence tomography over a 2-year period. Our results showed a statistically significant increase in drusen number in both females and males in the 2-year period. On average, increment by 4 and 5 drusen per eye during the 2-year period was recorded in female and male patients with drusiform dry
ARMD, respectively. Also, statistical analysis of the central retinal thickness showed that women with drusiform dry ARMD had a statistically significantly thinner macula than their male counterparts.
