Neurotrophins are a family of polypeptide growth factors that are required for the proliferation, differentiation, survival, and death of neuronal cells. A growing body of evidence suggests that they ...may have broader physiological roles in various non-neuronal tissues. The testicles are complex non-neuronal organs in which diverse cell types interact to achieve correct spermatogenesis. Both neurotrophins and their receptors have been detected in various cell types from mammalian testes, suggesting that neurotrophins may regulate or mediate intercellular communication within this organ. This review summarizes the existing data on the cellular distribution and possible biological roles of neurotrophins in the testes. The data reported in the literature indicate that neurotrophins affect somatic cell growth and spermatogenesis and imply that they play a role in regulating testicular development and male reproduction.
Brassica is a very important genus of Brassicaceae, including many important oils, vegetables, forage crops, and ornamental horticultural plants. TLP family genes play important regulatory roles in ...the growth and development of plants. Therefore, this study used a bioinformatics approach to conduct the systematic comparative genomics analysis of TLP gene family in B. napus and other three important Brassicaceae crops.
Here, we identified a total of 29 TLP genes from B. napus genome, and they distributed on 16 chromosomes of B. napus. The evolutionary relationship showed that these genes could be divided into six groups from Group A to F. We found that the gene corresponding to Arabidopsis thaliana AT1G43640 was completely lost in B. rapa, B. oleracea and B. napus after whole genome triplication. The gene corresponding to AT1G25280 was retained in all the three species we analysed, belonging to 1:3:6 ratios. Our analyses suggested that there was a selective loss of some genes that might be redundant after genome duplication. This study proposed that the TLP genes in B. napus did not directly expansion compared with its diploid parents B. rapa, and B. oleracea. Instead, an indirect expansion of TLP gene family occurred in its two diploid parents. In addition, the study further utilized RNA-seq to detect the expression pattern of TLP genes between different tissues and two subgenomes.
This study systematically conducted the comparative analyses of TLP gene family in B. napus, discussed the loss and expansion of genes after genome duplication. It provided rich gene resources for exploring the molecular mechanism of TLP gene family. Meanwhile, it provided guidance and reference for the research of other gene families in B. napus.
Nitric oxide (NO) has attracted significant attention as a stellar molecule. This review demonstrates the importance of NO in both male and female reproductive processes in numerous ways, such as in neuromodulation, follicular and oocyte maturation, ovulation, corpus luteum degeneration, fertilization, implantation, pregnancy maintenance, labor and menstrual cycle regulation, spermatogenesis, sperm maturation, and reproduction. However, the mechanism of action of some NO is still unknown, and understanding its mechanism may contribute to the clinical treatment of some reproductive diseases.

gene. Using this model, we identified a new relationship between melatonin, Alzheimer's disease (AD), and gut microbiota. Systematic changes were evaluated using multi-omics analysis. Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) was performed to examine the role of gut microbiota in the pathogenic risks of EMR. EMR mice exhibited a pan-metabolic disorder, with significant transcriptome changes in 11 organs, serum metabolome alterations as well as microbiota dysbiosis. Microbiota dysbiosis was accompanied by increased gut permeability along with gut and systemic inflammation. Correlation analysis revealed that systemic inflammation may be related to the increase of
relative abundance. 8-month-old EMR mice had AD-like phenotypes, including Iba-1 activation, A β protein deposition and decreased spatial memory ability. Moreover, EMR mice showed decreased anti stress ability, under high-fat diet, EMR mice had greater body weight and more obvious hepatic steatosis compared with WT group. FMT improved gut permeability, systemic inflammation, and AD-related phenotypes, while reducing obesity in EMR mice. Our findings suggest EMR causes systemic changes mediated by gut microbiota dysbiosis, which may be a pathogenic factor for AD and obesity, we further proved the gut microbiota is a potential target for the prevention and treatment of AD and obesity.
Artificial bone porous titanium materials are widely used in orthopedic implants. However, the traditional constitutive model is often limited by the complexity and accuracy of the model, and it is ...difficult to accurately and efficiently describe the constitutive relationship of porous titanium materials. In this study, structured data were established based on experimental data from published papers, and goodness of fit (R2), mean absolute error (MAE) and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) were used to evaluate the model. The prediction effect of random forest (RF), multi-layer perceptron (MLPR) and support vector machine (SVR) on the constitutive relationship of porous titanium materials was discussed. Through comprehensive comparison, it can be seen that the RF model with max_depth of 24 and n_estimators of 160 has the best performance in prediction, and the average absolute percentage error is less than 4.4%, which means it can accurately predict the temperature sensitivity and strain rate sensitivity of porous titanium materials. And its predictive ability is better than that of the traditional constitutive model, which provides a new idea and method for the constitutive modeling of porous titanium materials.

This study aimed to identify changes in metabolites in the early pregnancy of mink by comparing and analyzing in serum metabolites up to twenty-nine days after mating. Blood samples were taken on the first day of mating, once a week until the fifth week. Metabolomic profiles of the serum samples taken during this period were analyzed by ultra-performance liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry. Multivariate statistical analyses identified differential metabolite expression at different time points in both positive and negative ion modes. The levels of dopamine, tyramine, L-phenylalanine, L-tyrosine, tyrosine, L-kynurenine, L-lysine, L-arginine, D-ornithine, and leucine changed significantly. These metabolites may be associated with the process of embryo diapause and subsequent reactivation.
Endometritis, inflammation of the endometrium, is a common reproductive obstacle disease that can lead to infertility in female animals. Astragaloside IV (AS IV), one of the major and active ...components of the
(Fisch.) Bunge, is known for its anti-inflammatory effects. In the present study, the effects and mechanisms of AS IV on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced endometritis were investigated using a mouse model. Female mice were prepared with AS IV (0.01 mg/g) by gavage for six days before being stimulated with LPS. The results showed that the histopathological changes, levels of inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β and TNF-α), concentration of NO, and myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity in LPS-induced uteri were attenuated significantly by pretreatment with AS IV. Furthermore, LPS-induced activations of NF-κB, p38, and JNK signal pathways were suppressed by pretreatment with AS IV. In conclusion, the data provided new evidence that AS IV effectively attenuates LPS-induced endometritis through inhibition of TLR4-mediated NF-κB, p38, and JNK signaling pathways, implying that AS IV might become a promising potential anti-inflammatory agent for endometritis and other inflammatory diseases.
Reproductive performance is a key factor in determining the profitability of dairy farm, which is affected by many factors such as environment and diseases. Mastitis is a common and important ...disease, which has caused huge economic losses to the dairy industries worldwide. Mammary gland infection causes immune responses, resulting in the abnormal secretion of cytokines and hormones and abnormal function of the reproductive system such as the ovary, corpus luteum, uterus and embryo. Cows with mastitis have delayed oestrus, decreased pregnancy rate and increased risk of abortion. The adverse effects of mastitis on reproductive performance are affected by many factors, such as occurrence time, pathogen and cow factors. This paper primarily reviews the progress in the effects and mechanisms of mastitis on reproductive performance, with emphasis on maternal transcriptome, genomic analysis, epigenetic modification, microbiota, inflammatory regulation and immune evasion mechanism of mastitis, aiming to provide directions for the prevention and control of mastitis in the future.
