As museums shift their responsibilities and functions towards audience-centered approaches, research on exploring museum cultural communication strategies through visitor experiences has gained ...increasing attention from both academia and industry. This study focuses on the newly opened Nan Song Deshou Palace Relics Site Museum in Hangzhou, China, completed at the end of 2022, and its visitors. Data were collected through on-site surveys and in-depth interviews. The research findings indicate that the current motivations of museum visitors manifest primarily in three forms: knowledge exploration, social interaction, and psychological restoration. After evaluating the existing museum service quality based on the field of experiential value in marketing management, two main issues and features were identified. The issues include sub-optimal visitor pathways and layout, dissatisfaction with staff services, and shortcomings in promotion and communication. The overall cultural learning and interactive experience for the entire visitor base also require improvement. The features are characterized by differentiated cultural and creative consumption in the museum and the emergence of interrelated consumer demands. Based on these findings, the study provides targeted recommendations for future museum construction and communication strategies.
In recent years, social media, which has emerged with the core focus on interaction within "acquaintance networks," has gradually been infiltrated by "strangers," leading to the disorientation of ...many users, especially women, amidst the diverse and intricate social platforms and emotional landscapes. Grounded in the experiential perspective of social media users, this study explores the correlations among woman emotions, satisfaction, and behavior, starting from the standpoint of the impact of social media. Through in-depth interviews with woman cohorts in China, various dimensions such as emotional fluctuations, satisfaction levels, and behaviors in social media were examined. The findings reveal that emotional expression serves as a primary motivation and purpose for users to sustain their engagement with social media. Additionally, emotional masking represents a proactive operational behavior induced by the needs for social relationship maintenance and the accumulation of social capital. Furthermore, emotional management manifests as user-initiated abandonment or shift of social media activities in response to perceived emotional stress. On this basis, a conceptual model integrating woman emotions, satisfaction, and behavior in the context of social media was constructed. The outcomes of this research hold significant theoretical and practical implications for future studies on woman emotions and behaviors, as well as for the development of social media functionalities, content management, public media usage, and psychological health interventions.

Building extraction from remote sensing (RS) images is a fundamental task for geospatial applications, aiming to obtain morphology, location, and other information about buildings from RS images, ...which is significant for geographic monitoring and construction of human activity areas. In recent years, deep learning (DL) technology has made remarkable progress and breakthroughs in the field of RS and also become a central and state-of-the-art method for building extraction. This paper provides an overview over the developed DL-based building extraction methods from RS images. Firstly, we describe the DL technologies of this field as well as the loss function over semantic segmentation. Next, a description of important publicly available datasets and evaluation metrics directly related to the problem follows. Then, the main DL methods are reviewed, highlighting contributions and significance in the field. After that, comparative results on several publicly available datasets are given for the described methods, following up with a discussion. Finally, we point out a set of promising future works and draw our conclusions about building extraction based on DL techniques.
Sewage pipe deterioration has been one of the factors causing huge asset losses and urban hazards worldwide. For more efficient and reliable management, a variety of monitoring and non-destructive ...testing techniques has been developed for defect inspection and condition assessment of sewer pipes. In the present paper, the monitoring approaches of sewage pipes in the form of operational monitoring, structural monitoring, and durability monitoring are outlined. The fundamentals and features of various non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques for different target detect locations are presented. The stereo vision, light detection and ranging (LiDAR), and laser 3D scanning technologies that might serve to architect the digital twin of the pipeline are also described. What's more, the capabilities and limitations of these technologies are discussed and summarized in tables. Some possible visions for the development of inspection and quantitative evaluation of sewage pipes are also discussed. In practice, it is suggested that visual inspection techniques are the most feasible for the evaluation of underground pipes. In terms of quantitative and automated evaluation, visual inspection robots equipped with stereo vision or laser 3D scanning technology are the most promising.
Protein kinases transduce signals to regulate a wide array of cellular functions in eukaryotes. A generalizable method for optical control of kinases would enable fine spatiotemporal interrogation or ...manipulation of these various functions. We report the design and application of single-chain cofactor-free kinases with photoswitchable activity. We engineered a dimeric protein, pdDronpa, that dissociates in cyan light and reassociates in violet light. Attaching two pdDronpa domains at rationally selected locations in the kinase domain, we created the photoswitchable kinases psRaf1, psMEK1, psMEK2, and psCDK5. Using these photoswitchable kinases, we established an all-optical cell-based assay for screening inhibitors, uncovered a direct and rapid inhibitory feedback loop from ERK to MEK1, and mediated developmental changes and synaptic vesicle transport in vivo using light.
Computer vision technology is increasingly being used in areas such as intelligent security and autonomous driving. Users need accurate and reliable visual information, but the images obtained under ...severe weather conditions are often disturbed by rainy weather, causing image scenes to look blurry. Many current single image deraining algorithms achieve good performance but have limitations in retaining detailed image information. In this paper, we design a Scale-space Feature Recalibration Network (SFR-Net) for single image deraining. The proposed network improves the image feature extraction and characterization capability of a Multi-scale Extraction Recalibration Block (MERB) using dilated convolution with different convolution kernel sizes, which results in rich multi-scale rain streaks features. In addition, we develop a Subspace Coordinated Attention Mechanism (SCAM) and embed it into MERB, which combines coordinated attention recalibration and a subspace attention mechanism to recalibrate the rain streaks feature information learned from the feature extraction phase and eliminate redundant feature information to enhance the transfer of important feature information. Meanwhile, the overall SFR-Net structure uses dense connection and cross-layer feature fusion to repeatedly utilize the feature maps, thus enhancing the understanding of the network and avoiding gradient disappearance. Through extensive experiments on synthetic and real datasets, the proposed method outperforms the recent state-of-the-art deraining algorithms in terms of both the rain removal effect and the preservation of image detail information.
Synapse formation is a highly regulated process that requires the coordination of many cell biological events. Decades of research have identified a long list of molecular components involved in ...assembling a functioning synapse. Yet how the various steps, from transporting synaptic components to adhering synaptic partners and assembling the synaptic structure, are regulated and precisely executed during development and maintenance is still unclear. With the improvement of imaging and molecular tools, recent work in vertebrate and invertebrate systems has provided important insight into various aspects of presynaptic development, maintenance, and trans-synaptic signals, thereby increasing our understanding of how extrinsic organizers and intracellular mechanisms contribute to presynapse formation.
Jasmonate (JA) and ethylene (ET) are two major plant hormones that synergistically regulate plant development and tolerance to necrotrophic fungi. Both JA and ET induce the expression of several ...pathogenesis-related genes, while blocking either signaling pathway abolishes the induction of these genes by JA and ET alone or in combination. However, the molecular basis of JA/ET coaction and signaling interdependency is largely unknown. Here, we report that two Arabidopsis ET-stabilized transcription factors (EIN3 and EIL1) integrate ET and JA signaling in the regulation of gene expression, root development, and necrotrophic pathogen defense. Further studies reveal that JA enhances the transcriptional activity of EIN3/EIL1 by removal of JA-Zim domain (JAZ) proteins, which physically interact with and repress EIN3/EIL1. In addition, we find that JAZ proteins recruit an RPD3-type histone deacetylase (HDA6) as a corepressor that modulates histone acetylation, represses EIN3/EIL1-dependent transcription, and inhibits JA signaling. Our studies identify EIN3/EIL1 as a key integration node whose activation requires both JA and ET signaling, and illustrate transcriptional derepression as a common mechanism to integrate diverse signaling pathways in the regulation of plant development and defense.
The aim of the current research was to examine lipid oxidation in chicken meat heated to different temperatures followed by refrigerator storage and the factors contributing to lipid oxidation. It ...showed that lipid oxidation was significantly promoted when meat was heated up to 70°C and stored for 2 and 4 D as measured by thiobarbituric acid reactive substance. The monounsaturated fatty acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids also decreased significantly (P < 0.05) with the increase of heating temperature. The liberation of nonheme iron and increase of hydroxyl radical were observed in heated chicken meat, and the activities of antioxidant enzymes was decreased considerably at higher temperatures. The changes of these prooxidants and antioxidants might constitute a possible mechanism for the stronger lipid oxidation in heated meat.
