The hematological stem cells model is introduced with neutrophil dynamics of two department model setting forth. During the cells differentiation and proliferation process, the neutrophils are ...functioned with negative feedback with delay history, which contains delayed amplification coefficient. In more general view, the new introduction rate is given to replace the familiar Hill function which is helpful to understand the complex dynamics of neutrophils. The double Hopf bifurcation is calculated with the artificial handtools named DDE-Biftool, which is observed as the self-intersection of Hopf lines. The continuation of periodical solutions arising from Hopf points are done and the longer period solutions are manifested with multi-rhythm and bursting oscillation. The near dynamics of double Hopf points is simulated by DDE-Biftool with different route design, the multi-period attractors, quasi-periodical solutions and chaos are observed.
Sparingly-soluble phosphate rock (PR), a raw material for P-fertilizer production, can be effectively utilized by the As-hyperaccumulator
but not most plants. In this study, we investigated the ...associated mechanisms by measuring dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and acid phosphatase in the rhizosphere, and nutrient uptake and gene expression related to the As metabolism in
. The plants were grown in a soil containing 200 mg kg
As and/or 1.5% PR for 30 days. Compared to the As treatment, the
biomass was increased by 33% to 4.6 g plant
in the As+PR treatment, corresponding to 27% decrease in its frond oxidative stress as measured by malondialdehyde. Due to PR-enhanced DOC production in the rhizosphere, the Ca, P, and As contents in
fronds were increased by 17% to 9.7 g kg
, 29% to 5.0 g kg
, and 57% to 1045 mg kg
in the As+PR treatment, thereby supporting its better growth. Besides, PR-induced rhizosphere pH increase from 5.0 to 6.9 promoted greater P uptake by
probably via upregulating low-affinity P transporters
by 3.7-4.1 folds. Consequently, 29% lower available-P induced the 3.3-fold upregulation of high-affinity P transporter
in the As+PR treatment, which was probably responsible for the 58% decrease in available-As content in the rhizosphere. Consistent with the enhanced As translocation and sequestration, arsenite antiporters
were upregulated by 1.8-4.4 folds in the As+PR than As treatment. In short, sparingly-soluble PR enhanced the Ca, P, and As availability in
rhizosphere and improved their uptake via upregulating genes related to As metabolism, suggesting its potential application for improving phytoremediation in As-contaminated soils.
The capsaicin receptor (VR1) homologue, VRL1, is thought to be responsible for transducing high-threshold heat responses in Adelta-fiber neurons. In the present study, the expression of VRL1 by A- or ...C-fiber sensory neurons in rats was investigated by using a VRL1 and 200 kDa neurofilament (NF200, an A-fiber marker) double immunohistochemical staining method. Approximately 46% of VRL-positive neurons were NF200 positive. Though double-labeled neurons tended to be medium to large, many VRL1 single-labeled neurons were large. Dense VRL1 immunoreactivity was also found in laminae I and II of the spinal dorsal horn, where nociceptive Adelta- and C-fibers normally terminate. These results suggest that both C-fiber and Adelta-fiber primary sensory neurons express VRL1, and VRL1 may play an important role in nociception.
To evaluate the efficacy of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) in young patients with high-risk multiple myeloma (HRMM) and analyzed the factors affecting patient ...prognosis.
In this retrospective study, we analyzed the clinical data of 14 patients with HRMM with cytogenetic abnormalities or high-risk biological factors who underwent allo-HSCT at the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Center of the Institute of Hematology & Blood Diseases Hospital between November 2016 and November 2022.
There were seven males and seven females included in the study, with a median age of 39.5 (31-50) years at the time of allo-HSCT. The median number of treatment lines before transplantation was 2 (1-6) . Before allo-HSCT, 42.9% (6/14) of the patients did not achieve complete remission, while 35.7% (5/14) of the patients achieved measurable residual disease positivity. After transplantation, all patients were evaluated for their treatment response, and the overall response rate was 100% (14/14)
Epitaxial bilayer of tetragonal Heusler-like D022-MnGa and cubic Heusler L21-Co2MnSi have been successfully grown even for an unannealed sample. The interfacial exchange coupling (Jex) for samples ...annealed at different temperatures was evaluated from the magnetic hysteresis loop. Antiferromagnetic Jex was observed in the interfaces of cubic Heusler Co2MnSi and tetragonal D022-MnGa layers. The evaluated Jex is −3.2erg/cm2 for a bilayer film annealed at 400°C, being comparable to that for the FeCo/MnGa interface.
•We studied on structural and magnetic properties of Co2MnSi/MnGa bilayers.•Epitaxial bilayer films have been successfully grown even for an unannealed sample.•We have confirmed epitaxy of the L21 ordered Co2MnSi on D022-MnGa film.•Strong exchange coupling about −3.2erg/cm2 was found for a bilayer annealed at 400°C.

•As bioaccessibility varied in 11 As-contaminated soils.•As bioaccessibility in soils varied with four in vitro assays.•Bioaccessible As was from first three fractions of sequential ...extraction.•0.43M HNO3 extractable As was correlated to all four assays.
Arsenic bioaccessibility varies with in vitro methods and soils. Four assays including unified BARGE method (UBM), Solubility Bioaccessibility Research Consortium method (SBRC), in vitro gastrointestinal method (IVG), and physiologically based extraction test (PBET), were used to determine As bioaccessibility in 11 contaminated soils (22–4,172mgkg−1). The objective was to understand how bioaccessible As by different methods was related to different As pools based on sequential extraction and 0.43M HNO3 extraction. Arsenic bioaccessibility was 7.6–25, 2.3–49, 7.3–44, and 1.3–38% in gastric phase (GP), and 5.7–53, 0.46–33, 2.3–42, and 0.86–43% in intestinal phase (IP) for UBM, SBRC, IVG, and PBET, respectively, with HNO3-extractable As being 0.90–60%. Based on sequential extraction, As was primarily associated with amorphous (AF3; 17–79%) and crystallized Fe/Al oxides (CF4; 6.4–73%) while non-specifically sorbed (NS1), specifically sorbed (SS2), and residual fractions (RS5) were 0–10%, 3.4–20% and 3.2–25%. Significant correlation was found between As bioaccessibility by PBET and NS1+SS2 (R2=0.55−0.69), and UBM-GP and NS1+SS2+AF3 (R2=0.58), indicating PBET mostly targeted As in NS1+SS2 whereas UBM in NS1+SS2+AF3. HNO3-extractable As was correlated to bioaccessible As by four methods (R2=0.42–0.72) with SBRC-GP having the best correlation. The fact that different methods targeted different As fractions in soils suggested the importance of validation by animal test. Our data suggested that HNO3 may have potential to determine bioaccessible As in soils.

Two wheat cultivars, HF9703 (drought tolerant) and SN215953 (drought sensitive), were used to examine the effects of glycinebetaine (GB, 100 mM) on lipid composition and function of thylakoid ...membranes under drought stress. GB application mitigated negative effect of drought on Ca2+-ATPase and Hill reaction activities, chlorophyll content, gas exchange and photosynthesis. These positive effects of GB application may be, in part, correlated with improving the lipid composition of the thylakoid membranes.
The total internal quantum efficiency (IQE) of a flat-band p–n homojunction silicon solar cell and contributions of the three regions to it are numerically evaluated. It is found that both the ...spatial widths of the cell and the surface recombination velocities have significant impacts on the IQEs. By a linear transformation and a proper approximation, the differential equation of the minority carrier density in a textured cell becomes the same form as for the flat cell. What makes differences is that texturization slightly enhances the IQEs for photons with longer wavelengths while notably increasing external quantum efficiency. Hence it plays a good role for getting a better performance of a solar cell. It is considered that the results in the present are of universal technical importance both in designing solar cells and their surface structures.
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are ubiquitous organic contaminants, which are found in soils throughout the U.S. The objective of this study was to determine the background concentrations, ...distributions, and sources of 16 USEPA priority PAHs in two urban soils. A total of 114 soil samples were collected from two large cities in Florida: Orlando and Tampa. The results showed that soils were dominated by high molecular weight PAHs in both cities. The average ∑16-PAHs in Orlando and Tampa soils were 3227 and 4562 μg kg−1, respectively. The averages of 7 carcinogenic PAHs based on the benzoapyrene-equivalent (BaP-EQ) concentrations in the two cities were 452 and 802 μg kg−1. BaP-EQ concentrations in 60–62% of samples were higher than the Florida Soil Cleanup Target Level (FSCTL) for residential soils at 100 μg kg−1 and 20–25% of samples were higher than FSCTL for industrial soils at 700 μg kg−1. Based on molecular diagnostic ratios and PMF modeling, major sources of soil PAHs in both cities were similar, mainly from pyrogenic sources including vehicle emissions, and biomass and coal combustion. Based on ArcGIS mapping, PAH concentrations in soils near business districts and high traffic roads were higher. Thus, it is important to consider background PAH concentrations in urban soils when considering soil remediation.
