Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) have now earned the reputation as "artificial receptors" or "plastic antibodies". As the mimics of natural receptors, MIPs are reminiscent of some basic ...functions of natural receptors in living systems, e.g., the ability to interact with or recognize cells. The latest decade has witnessed a great advance in MIPs from simple molecular extraction to efficient cell recognition, implying that MIP-based synthetic receptors are approaching to be perfectly functioning replicates of their natural counterparts. With the most emerging development in molecular imprinting, MIP-mediated cell recognition has now shown great promise in cell biology research, theranostics and regenerative medicine. This tutorial review provides a panoramic view of current MIPs for both microorganism and mammalian cell recognition. The most representative developments of MIP-mediated cell recognition, from initial imprinting strategies to eventual bio-related applications, are highlighted.
Despite remarkable luminescent performance of 0D lead halide perovskites, achieving highly efficient blue light emission is extremely challenging and crucial for this domain. Considering the high ...toxicity of Pb2+ ion, it is significant to explore water‐stable lead‐free 0D halides as highly efficient and stable blue emitting materials. To address these issues, a family of 0D hybrid zinc halides of AZnBr4 (A = EP, BP, and TMPDA) based on discrete ZnBr42− tetrahedrons is herein reported as desirable blue light emitters. The wide band gaps enable these 0D halides to display highly efficient blue light emissions (452–485 nm) with highest photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of 35.47%. More importantly, all these 0D halides present extraordinary chemical stabilities in humid air and water for one month, and are also capable of withstanding extreme pH conditions in the range of 0–14, likely the widest observed pH range for perovskites. Notably, the ultrahigh chemical stabilities of 0D zinc halides are nearly unmatchable among all known literature perovskite materials to the best of the authors’ knowledge. Combined superiorities of unusual blue light emission, promising PLQY, ultrahigh stability, and non‐toxicity highlight the potential optoelectronic applications in wide chemical environments for these 0D zinc halides.

An individual's capacity to successfully control their emotional experiences and react to them requires them to engage in a number of processes, including those that are physiological, behavioral, ...and cognitive. When educators engage in self-evaluation, they investigate and assess the quality of their professional work. These two teacher-related conceptions have the potential to open up valuable perspectives in the course of the professional pursuits of teachers. Even though earlier research has shown their significance, the potential implications of these factors on the resiliency and teaching style preferences of language instructors have not been emphasized. As a result, the purpose of this study was to determine the extent to which a language teacher's ability to regulate their emotions while carrying out self-evaluation procedures may accurately predict their level of resilience as well as their preferred method of instruction. To accomplish this, 399 English as a foreign language (EFL) teachers were asked to reflect on their experiences by responding to the following related questionnaires: The Language Teacher Emotion Regulation Inventory (LTERI), The Core of Self-evaluation Questionnaire (CSEQ), the L2-teacher Grit Scale (L2TGS), Grasha Teaching Style Inventory (TSI) and the Engaged Teacher Scale (ETS). The results demonstrated that those EFL teachers who maintained healthy emotional control were grittier and more engaged. They also tended to teach in a manner focused on the students. The pedagogical implications of this research are discussed further in depth.
Rationally optimizing the photoluminescence performance via accurate structural modulation is one of most important and challenging issues for hybrid halides. Herein, a viable crystal dimensional ...reduction strategy is proposed to reasonably enhance the photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of hybrid antimony halide. Specifically, a synthetic technique is developed and new 1D DMPZSbCl5 ∙ H2O (DP‐SbCl5) is sliced to 0D DMPZ2SbCl6 ∙ Cl ∙ (H2O)2 (DP‐SbCl6) with crystal dimensional reduction from infinite SbCl52− chain to discrete SbCl63− octahedron. Comparing with nonluminescent 1D DP‐SbCl5, 0D DP‐SbCl6 displays highly efficient broadband yellow light emission with enhanced PLQY up to 75.94%. First‐principles calculation demonstrates that 0D DP‐SbCl6 features more flat and narrow band structure, which promotes the photoelectron localization and increases the quantum confinement, and finally boosts the luminescence efficiency. Together highly efficient and ultra‐stable luminescence performance enable DP‐SbCl6 as excellent down‐conversion broadband yellow phosphor to successfully fabricate white light emitting diodes with a high color rendering index of 92. This work provides a novel structural modulation strategy of crystal dimensional reduction to rationally optimize the PL performance of hybrid metal halides.
With controllable structural evolution from 1D to 0D hybrid antimony halides, the photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) realizes a notable enhancement from <1% to 75.94% in yellow spectral region benefitting from more localized photoelectrons and increased quantum confinement. This work provides a structural platform to verify the feasibility of crystal dimensionality reduction strategy to rationally improve the PLQY of metal halides.
Accurate bathymetric data is essential for marine, coastal ecosystems, and related studies. In the past decades, a lot of studies were investigated to obtain bathymetric data in shallow waters using ...satellite remotely sensed data. Satellite multispectral imagery has been widely used to estimate shallow water depths based on empirical models and physics-based models. However, the in-situ water depth information is essential (as the priori) to use the empirical model in a specific area, which limits its application, especially for remote reefs. In this study, the bathymetric maps in shallow waters were produced based on empirical models with only satellite remotely sensed data (i.e., the new ICESat-2 bathymetric points and Sentinel-2 multispectral imagery). The bathymetric points from the spaceborne ICESat-2 lidar were used in place of the in-situ auxiliary bathymetric points to train the classical empirical models (i.e., the linear model and the band ratio model). The bathymetric points were firstly extracted from noisy ICESat-2 raw data photons by an improved point cloud processing algorithm, and then were corrected for bathymetric errors (which were caused by the refraction effect in the water column, the refraction effect on the water surface, and the fluctuation effect on the water surface). With the trained empirical models and Sentinel-2 multispectral images, the bathymetric maps were produced for Yongle Atoll, in the South China Sea and the lagoon near Acklins Island and Long Cay, to the southeast of Bahama with four-date Sentinel-2 images. The bathymetry performance (including the accuracy and consistency of multi-date data) was evaluated and compared with the in-situ measurements. The results indicate that the bathymetric accuracy is well, and the RMSE is lower or close to 10% of the maximum depth for the two models with four-date images in two study areas. The consistency of multi-date data is well with the mean R2 of 0.97. The main novelties of this study are that the accuracy bathymetric points can be obtained from the ICESat-2 raw data using the proposed signal processing and error correction method, and using the ICESat-2 bathymetric points, the satellite multispectral imagery based on empirical models is no longer limited by local priori measurements, which were essential in previous studies. Hence, In the future, with the help of free and open-access satellite data (i.e., ICESat-2 data and Sentinel-2 imagery), this approach can be extended to a larger scale to obtain bathymetric maps in the shallow water of coastal areas, surroundings of islands and reefs, and inland waters.

The behavior of somatic stem cells is regulated by their niche. Interaction between hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and their niches are a representative model to understand stem cell‐niche ...interplay. Here, we provide an overview of crosstalk between HSCs and their niches in bone marrow and extramedullary organs following the life journey of HSCs from emergence, development, maturation until aging. We highlight the unique differences of HSC niches in different life stages within various organs focusing on recent literature to propose new speculations and hypotheses.
Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) enable the lifelong generation of hematopoietic cells and replenish their shortage after transplantation. HSCs interact with their niche microenvironments from emergence until aging. In this review, we discuss the similarity but also differences of HSC niche in aorta‐gonad‐mesonephros (AGM), liver, spleen, and bone marrow.
Lung cancer is a prevalent malignant tumor and a leading cause of cancer-related fatalities globally. However, current treatments all have limitations. Therefore, there is an urgent need to identify ...a readily available therapeutic agent to counteract lung cancer development and progression. Luteolin is a flavonoid derived from vegetables and herbs that possesses preventive and therapeutic effects on various cancers. With the goal of providing new directions for the treatment of lung cancer, we review here the recent findings on luteolin so as to provide new ideas for the development of new anti-lung cancer drugs. The search focused on studies published between January 1995 and January 2024 that explored the use of luteolin in lung cancer. A comprehensive literature search was conducted in the SCOPUS, Google Scholar, PubMed, and Web of Science databases using the keywords "luteolin" and "lung cancer." By collecting previous literature, we found that luteolin has multiple mechanisms of therapeutic effects, including promotion of apoptosis in lung cancer cells; inhibition of tumor cell proliferation, invasion and metastasis; and modulation of immune responses. In addition, it can be used as an adjuvant to radio-chemotherapy and helps to ameliorate cancer complications. This review summarizes the structure, natural sources, physicochemical properties and pharmacokinetics of luteolin, and focuses on the anti-lung cancer mechanism of luteolin, so as to provide new ideas for the development of new anti-lung cancer drugs.

Although some psychological processes, such as stigma and self-efficacy, affect the complicated relationship between social support and depressive symptoms, few studies explored a similar ...psychological mechanism among individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs). Hence, this research investigates the mediating effects of stigma and the moderating effects of self-efficacy among the psychological mechanism that social support affects depressive symptoms.
The study included 1040 Chinese participants with SUDs and completed a series of self-report questionnaires. R software was used to organize and clean up data sets and analyze mediation and moderation effects.
The result showed that stigma partially mediated depressive symptoms, while self-efficacy moderated this relationship. More specifically, less social support increased depression symptoms by bringing about higher stigma. Besides, subjects with higher self-efficacy are less susceptible to stigma and therefore have mild depressive symptoms. Furthermore, clinical and theoretical implications are discussed in our study.
Chinese SUDs patients' depressive symptoms were indirectly affected by perceived social support via stigma and less affected by stigma with improved self-efficacy. The theoretical and practical implications of these results are discussed.
It has previously been shown that nanoparticle additives can, in a simple way, significantly improve the ionic conductivity in solid polymer electrolyte systems with the semi-crystalline ...poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) as a host material. It has been suggested that the improved ionic conductivity is a result of reduced degree of crystallinity and additional conductivity mechanisms occurring in the material. In this work, this principle is applied to another semi-crystalline polymer host: poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL). This is a polymer with comparable properties (Tg, Tm, etc.) as PEO, and constitute a promising material for use in solid polymer electrolytes for lithium ion batteries. 15 wt% of the respective nanoparticles TiO2, Al2O3 and h-BN have been added to the PCL-LiTFSI solid polymer electrolyte in an attempt to increase the conductivity and achieve stable room temperature cyclability. The crystallinity, ionic conductivity and electrochemical properties were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and galvanostatic cycling of cells. The results showed that with an addition of 15 wt% Al2O3, the degree of crystallinity is reduced to 6–7% and the ionic conductivity increased to 6–7 × 10−6 S cm−1 at room temperature, allowing successful cycling of cells at 30 °C, while h-BN did not contribute to similar improvements. The effect of nanoparticles, however, differ significantly from previous observations in PEO systems, which could be explained by different surface-polymer interactions or the degree of ordering in the amorphous phases of the materials.
To achieve on‐demand drug release, mesoporous silica nanocarriers as antitumor platforms generally need to be gated with stimuli‐responsive capping agents. Herein, a “smart” mesoporous nanocarrier ...that is gated by the drug itself through a pH‐sensitive dynamic benzoic–imine covalent bond is demonstrated. The new system, which tactfully bypasses the use of auxiliary capping agents, could also exhibit desirable drug release at tumor tissues/cells and enhanced tumor inhibition. Moreover, a facile dynamic PEGylation via benzoic–imine bond further endows the drug‐self‐gated nanocarrier with tumor extracellular pH‐triggered cell uptake and improves therapeutic efficiency in vivo. In short, the paradigm shift in capping agents here will simplify mesoporous nanomaterials as intelligent drug carriers for cancer therapy. Moreover, the self‐gated strategy in this work also shows general potential for self‐controlled delivery of natural biomolecules, for example, DNA/RNA, peptides, and proteins, due to their intrinsic amino groups.
A drug‐self‐gated strategy for mesoporous nanocarrier could achieve on‐demand drug release at tumor tissue/cells and improved antitumor efficiency. The key is using a pH‐sensitive benzoic–imine bond for dynamic conjugation of amino‐containing drug molecules (i.e., doxorubicin) on the pore outlets.
