We propose an extension of the three-Higgs-doublet model (3HDM), where the Standard Model (SM) particle content is enlarged by the inclusion of two inert SU
2
L
scalar doublets, three inert ...and two active electrically neutral gauge singlet scalars, charged vector like fermions and Majorana neutrinos. These additional particles are introduced to generate the SM fermion mass hierarchy from a sequential loop suppression mechanism. In our model the top and exotic fermion masses appear at tree level, whereas the remaining fermions get their masses radiatively. Specifically, bottom, charm, tau and muon masses appear at 1-loop; the masses for the light up, down and strange quarks as well as for the electron at 2-loop and masses for the light active neutrinos at 3-loop. Our model successfully accounts for SM fermion masses and mixings and accommodates the observed Dark Matter relic density, the electron and muon anomalous magnetic moments, as well the constraints arising from charged Lepton Flavor Violating (LFV) processes. The proposed model predicts charged LFV decays within the reach of forthcoming experiments.
We revisit a Dark Matter model with an extension of the Standard Model with two real singlets χ and η obeying a Z2⊗Z2′ symmetry, where Z2′ is broken spontaneously. While χ serves as a stable Dark ...Matter candidate providing the relic density, the real η field plays the role of a light mediator. We study the viability of this model with respect to Dark Matter self-interactions which may explain the density profiles observed in dwarf galaxies up to scales of the size of our Milky Way. Moreover, the Standard Model-like Higgs boson of the model has a tiny mixing with the mediator field and appears to be consistent with current LHC data. In this rather minimal extension of the Standard Model the mediator η decays naturally into Majorana neutrinos neither disturbing standard big bang nucleosynthesis nor cosmic microwave background observations.

In the general Two-Higgs Doublet Model it has been shown that the Higgs potential can be expressed in terms of gauge-independent quantities that transform covariantly under unitary mixing ...of the doublets. In particular, stability, electroweak symmetry breaking, and CP symmetry can be understood in a concise way, avoiding unphysical gauge degrees of freedom. We complete this program and show how all the masses, the trilinear and quartic scalar interactions, the gauge-boson-Higgs interactions, as well as the Yukawa couplings in the general THDM can be expressed in a gauge-invariant way.

We present a simple and transparent analysis of custodial symmetry in the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model adopting the bilinear formalism for the Higgs potential. The method allows to derive ...basis-independent, necessary and sufficient conditions for the potential to be invariant under custodial transformations. The relation between the custodial transformation and CP is revisited and clarified.
A method is presented for the analysis of the scalar potential in the general two-Higgs-doublet model. This allows us to give the conditions for the stability of the potential and for electroweak ...symmetry breaking in this model in a very concise way. These results are then applied to two different Higgs potentials in the literature, namely the MSSM and the two-Higgs-doublet potential proposed by Gunion et al. The known results for these models follow easily as special cases from the general results. In particular, for the potential of Gunion et al. we can clarify the stability and symmetry-breaking properties of the model with our method.
We discuss the CP properties of the potential in the general two-Higgs-doublet model (THDM). This is done in a concise way using real gauge invariant functions built from the scalar products of the ...doublet fields. The space of these invariant functions, parametrising the gauge orbits of the Higgs fields, is isomorphic to the forward light cone and its interior. CP transformations are shown to correspond to reflections in the space of the gauge invariant functions. We consider CP transformations where no mixing of the Higgs doublets is taken into account as well as the general case where the Higgs basis is not fixed. We present basis independent conditions for explicit CP violation which may be checked easily for any THDM potential. Conditions for spontaneous CP violation, that is CP violation through the vacuum expectation values of the Higgs fields, are also derived in a basis independent way.
