In recent works we presented the results of the characterization and the study of performance of several Silicon Photomultipliers delivered from MEPHI (Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute) and ...we proposed an electrical model of the SiPM to be used in analog simulations for the VLSI design of the pilot chip with

technology produced. The results of the simulations was also presented. In this work we present the results of several test performed on the SiPM connected to the pilot chip. We also describe the prototype board with a micro-controller designed to adjust the parameters of the chip and to provide an adjustable and temperature controlled power supply to the SiPM. The results of the tests obtained allow us to refine the circuits design for the next chip. This chip has been developed inside the ALTCRISS and KLOE collaboration.

We propose a calorimetry approach unconventional and innovative. The method is based on the measurement of the lateral distribution of charged particles around the shower axis, it has been used for ...the first time in the energy determination of Extensive Air Showers at very high energy (>100 TeV) with single layer detector, providing an energy determination with resolution of about 10% for energies above 100 TeV. It has some peculiar characteristics which can be summarized in the following three points: (1) measurement of the shower energy by means of a single sampling; (2) calorimetry which renounces the classic concept of containment of the shower; (3) possibility to separate primary masses. In order to extend this technique at lower energies, specific simulations have been performed through GEANT4 in the energy range 100 GeV–10 TeV for different particles.

We present the design of the trigger system for the KLOE experiment at the Frascati
φ-factory DAΦNE. The detector consists of a large-volume drift chamber and a calorimeter both immersed in a

φ decays is evaluated using data.
A possibility of KLOE-2 experiment to measure the width \(\varGamma_{\pi^{0} \to\gamma\gamma}\) and the π0γγ∗ form factor F(Q2) at low invariant masses of the virtual photon in the space-like region ...is considered. This measurement is an important test of the strong interaction dynamics at low energies. The feasibility is estimated on the basis of a Monte-Carlo simulation. The expected accuracy for \(\varGamma_{\pi^{0} \to\gamma\gamma}\) is at a per cent level, which is better than the current experimental world average and theory. The form factor will be measured for the first time at Q2≤0.1 GeV2 in the space-like region. The impact of these measurements on the accuracy of the pion-exchange contribution to the hadronic light-by-light scattering part of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon is also discussed.
BGO-OD is a new meson photoproduction experiment at the ELSA facility of Bonn University. It aims at the investigation of non strange and strange baryon excitations, and is especially designed to be ...able to detect weekly bound meson-baryon type structures. The setup for the BGO-OD experiment is presented, the characteristics of the photon beam and the detector performances are shown and the initial experimental program is discussed.
The results obtained at the BGO-OD experiment with the BGO calorimeter, equipped with the new electronic readout based on sampling ADCs, during the tests performed with the beam time of March and ...June 2012 are presented. The proper functioning of the apparatus has allowed the reconstruction of the pseudo-scalar mesons π0 and η invariant masses. The simulation of the η' photoproduction reaction prepared for a proposal to the joint ELSA-MAMI Physics Advisory Committee is also presented.
The electromagnetic form factors of the neutron in the time-like region have been measured for the first time, from the threshold up to

The neutron magnetic form factor turns out to ...be larger than the proton one; the angular distribution suggests that for the neutron, at variance with the proton case, electric and magnetic form factors could be different. Further measurements are also reported, concerning the proton form factors and the

We present a new limit on the production of a light dark-force mediator with the KLOE detector at DAΦNE. This boson, called U, has been searched for in the decay ϕ→ηU, U→e+e−, analyzing the decay ...η→π0π0π0 in a data sample of 1.7 fb−1. No structures are observed in the e+e− invariant mass distribution over the background. This search is combined with a previous result obtained from the decay η→π+π−π0, increasing the sensitivity. We set an upper limit at 90% C.L. on the ratio between the U boson coupling constant and the fine structure constant of α′/α<1.7×10−5 for 30<MU<400 MeV and α′/α⩽8×10−6 for the sub-region 50<MU<210 MeV. This result assumes the Vector Meson Dominance expectations for the ϕηγ⁎ transition form factor. The dependence of this limit on the transition form factor has also been studied.
