Abstract Background Digital technologies have significantly changed the way adolescents perceive the world around them. The perception of the social environment is crucial for their well-being and ...health. Objectives This paper aims to evaluate the relationship between the perceived life circumstances of adolescents, such as dietary habits, physical activity, obesity, subjective health, the use of digital technology devices, and the level of occupancy with school obligations. Methods/Approach The survey research was conducted on a sample of adolescents between the ages of 11 and 15. Data was analysed using regression analysis and association rules. Results The results present a moderate positive correlation between the level of school obligations and life satisfaction or subjective health, while for the independent variable, time spent in front of screens, the strength of the relationship is moderate and negative. Conclusions The model represents a useful starting point for the recommendations for creating patterns to influence life satisfaction and well-being in adolescence. It provides insight into the potential optimisation of school obligations of adolescents according to the level of life satisfaction, subjective perception of health, and time spent in front of the screen.
The expansion of the Internet has radically changed the way in which citizens travel, book and organise travel arrangements. Since innovation and new information technologies have become crucial ...determinants to encourage competitiveness in the tourism sector in Europe, this article investigates how selected development indicators influence the Percentage of individuals that use Internet for travel and accommodation services. Eurostat data for 34 European, European Union (EU-28) and selected EU candidates, countries for 2017 were analysed. It has been presented that (1) Gross Domestic Product per capita in Purchasing Power Standards; (2) Percentage of population aged 15 to 64, by tertiary education; as well as (3) Percentage of individuals aged 16 to 74, who have basic or above basic overall digital skills, all correlate positively and strongly with the main variable under study. The conducted regression analysis has shown that variable digital skills has the greatest impact on the main variable under the study. The K-mean clustering of countries resulted with four clusters. The Western Balkan countries can be found in a cluster which has in average the lowest values of all four variables in compare to the averages of other three clusters.
In the article four development indicators have been carefully selected and their impact on the level of acceptance of the Internet booking of travel and holiday accommodation in selected European ...countries has been observed. The statistical panel analysis approach was used to determine the individual and the common impact of the development indicators. The analysis has shown that an individual's wealth, the public expenditure on education, and the Internet penetration rate have a positive statistically significant impact on the level of acceptance of the Internet booking of travel and holiday accommodation whereas the share of individuals with low level Internet skills has a negative statistically significant impact. These results carry significant importance for economists, politicians and all other stakeholders responsible for tourism development in a country. The use of the unbalanced panel is the main limitation of the article.
In the modern global economy that is constantly changing and causing constant threats and challenges, various forms of association and networking enterprises are of growing importance. Considering ...that small and medium enterprises are drivers of economic growth and employment, they should be the most dynamic and most efficient segment of the economy. The same is true for the hospitality industry, where small and medium hospitality enterprises are the main providers of the tourism offer. The lack of networks in clusters of small and medium hospitality enterprises in Croatia is the cause of the unsatisfactory level of competitiveness and quality of hotel facilities with negative implications for economic and social development. The beginning of clustering in Croatia could be a good way to increase the economic efficiency of Croatian small and medium hospitality enterprises. The aim of this paper is to present clustering as a factor that affects the quality of small and medium hospitality enterprises by increasing their competitiveness in the tourism market which is becoming an important element for their business efficiency. For the purposes of the research, a survey was carried out on a sample of 72 small and medium hospitality enterprises in the period from June to September 2012. The survey results have shown that clusterization is a factor of efficiency in small and medium hospitality enterprises.

Berti and Mulligan (2016) defined "the Food Hub as an intermediary organisation or business (the Food Hub Intermediary Organization) which works as the supply chain manager and provides a logistical and organisational platform for the aggregation and distribution of source-identified food products from local and regional producers to both wholesale buyers (institutions, food service firms-restaurant, hotel, pubs, etc.-retail outlets) and end consumers (individuals and groups). This paper seek to understand the role of new technologies on transformation processes of special areas of business of travel intermediaries even emerging new entities that collaborate with both ...poles of tourism demand. Special attention is payed to results of modification of distribution channels to be competitive in online travel market. Softwer as channel manager is more than a tool, it is emerging as core intelligence that manage time, impacting on benefits from converegence. New technologies allowed new digital platforms (Booking, Airbnb, Expedia) making travel easier. The preferences of the postmodern tourist extend beyond the streamlined and impersonal experiences, services and products. Driven by the ambition of deviating from the beaten track, new generations of travellers are converging on digital platforms to retrieve recommendations and information from fellow travellers and local residents,i.e. sources other than traditional travel intermediaries. The COVID crisis has triggered a number of changes in the world of rental accommodation. Some of these changes are flexible cancellations, new market prices, and shorter booking window. High expections make preassure on attnders in channel of distribution. There is an even greater emphasis on cleanliness, privacy and security. At the end of the research, the results speak in favor of exceptional impact of new technology on business development as well as the role that human potential has in acquiring digital skills through education and training and providing their own tools or products that facilitate business. The article studies the manner in which contents of services of tourist products at the destination are specialised, according to the needs and requirements of tourists. The first part highlights a ...theoretical review on the history of the tourism industry with emphasis on motives as a key factor, which is important in tourist decision-making when choosing the destination. In order to study the level of the specialisation of tourist offers in Dubrovnik particularly, in accordance with needs of tourists, the research was focused on: (1) tourist behaviour in terms of selection of key factors that meet tourist needs, important when making decisions about travelling to a destination; and (2) attitudes of the tourist consumers in accordance with the level of specialised contents of services used. Using the method of inferential statistics, the empirical research was conducted on a sample size of 327 tourists. Demographic characteristics and characteristics of the tourists' stay in Dubrovnik were taken into account, considering the assessment level of the specialisation and defining the main factors that influence the selection of a destination. Our findings speak in favour of the majority of services in Dubrovnik having specialised features and content, in accordance with the needs of tourists.
Health information systems (HISs) are instrumental in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of hospital operations, from managing patient data to enhancing decision-making processes. This study, ...which holds significant implications for the healthcare industry, aimed to identify the factors that influence users’ intentions to use HISs. The research involved interviews with healthcare professionals licensed to use the HIS of a public hospital. The survey, conducted in 2020, received 113 responses. Statistical methods of descriptive analysis, correlation, and multiple linear regression were used. Two models were examined. The first model investigated the relationship between the dependent variable of the intention to use an HIS and the independent variables of perceived time savings and perceived privacy protection. The second model explored the impact of age and education as control variables in the connection between the intention to use an HIS and time savings and privacy protection. A significant moderate positive correlation was found between the intention to use an HIS and perceived time savings, while a significant weak positive correlation was detected between the intention to use an HIS and education. Regression analysis in the first model revealed a significant connection between the intention to use an HIS and perceived time savings. However, the perceived privacy protection variable did not show a significant relationship with the dependent variable. The second model showed statistical significance in the relationship between the intention to use an HIS and education, but not with the second control variable, age. It can be concluded that education strengthens the positive impact of perceived time savings on the intention to use a health information system (HIS), a finding that has immediate and practical implications for healthcare professionals and researchers in the field of health information systems and healthcare management, underlining the importance of this research in advancing the understanding and adoption of HISs in healthcare settings.
