Green energy sources are implemented for the generation of power due to their substantial advantages. Wind generation is the best among renewable options for power generation. Generally, the wind ...system is directly connected with the power network for supplying power. In direct connection, there is an issue of managing power quality (PQ) concerns such as voltage sag, swells, flickers, harmonics, etc. In order to enhance the PQ in a power network with a wind energy conversion system (WECS), peripheral compensation is needed. In this paper, we highlight a novel control technique to improve the PQ in WECS by adopting an Artificial Neural Network (ANN)-based Distribution Static Compensator (DSTATCOM). In our proposed approach, an online learning-based ANN Back Propagation (BP) model is used to generate the gate pulses of the DSTATCOM, which mitigate the harmonics at the grid side. It is modelled using the MATLAB platform and the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the system is compared with and without DSTATCOM. The harmonics at the source side decreased to less than 5% and are within the IEEE limits. The results obtained reveal that the proposed online learning-based ANN-BP is superior in nature.
Grid interactive solar photovoltaic (PV) and electric vehicle (EV) systems are the emerging technologies nowadays, mainly due to energy cost reduction and minimization of emission levels. Various ...research surveys have presented the effect of grid integration of PVs and EVs in an isolated way. However, it is worth accepting that with the continuous emergence of PVs and EVs, the power grid is experiencing the combined effect of PV–EV integration. The distribution system network of EVs impacts the power quality of the grid. In this paper, shunt active power filter is modelled using neuro-fuzzy control technique for the mitigation of harmonics using MATLAB. The improvement in the system performance is analyzed and compared with the traditional compensation techniques.

Transportation is one of the key ...factors for the day-day increase in the depletion of ozone layer. The conventional vehicles increase the air pollution by the emission of harmful gases, governments and people are now moving towards electrical mobility which is green and safe alternative. The drastic demand of electric vehicles inspired the researchers to bring new concepts into market which are user friendly and sustainable in nature. This paper deals with the comparison of various motor and battery technologies used by current automobile Electric Vehicle industry. The paper also presents the modelling and simulation of an electric car and recommends the common people to shift from conventional to electric vehicles.
The technology transformation of industry 4.0 comprises computers, power converters such as variable speed devices, and microprocessors, which distract from the quality of power. The integration of ...distribution-generation technologies, such as solar photovoltaic (PV) and wind systems with source grids, frequently uses power converters, which increases the issues with power quality. DSTATCOM is the FACTS device most proficient in recompensing current-related power quality concerns. A model of DSTATCOM with an ANN controller was developed and implemented using a backpropagation online learning-based algorithm for balanced non-linear loads. This algorithm minimized the mathematical burden and the complications of control. It demonstrated a dynamic role in improving the quality of the power at the grid. The algorithm was implemented in MATLAB using an ANN model controller and the results were validated with an experimental set-up using an FPGA controller.
Parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) offer a economical fuel-efficient and less-cost effect, are one amongst the effective solutions to the world's energy crisis and high pollution of vehicles. ...Here we mainly uses the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm in creating limits on appropriate management strategies. We simulated a compatible electric car, used a consultant for a simulation purpose and driving cycle to monitor fuel consumption (FC), power output and vehicle energy. The repetition value is set to 60, the inertial weight is put to 0.6, the size of the mass is set to 5. Compared to MATLAB's for defining HEV similarity results, it proves that the PSO is a powerful design tool for the HEV control & organizing system. The proposed approach will reduce fuel consumption and decreases the pollution without changing & compromising with the vehicle performance.
In addition to multilateral trade agreements under the World Trade Organization (WTO), the world has seen a remarkable proliferation of regional trade agreements (RTAs) in the last two decades. This ...study investigates whether these multilateral and regional trade institutions increase food trade and bring the world into a freer flow of food. The gravity model of international trade is used for the empirical analysis. The model is developed in a large panel data setting and attempted to address some potential problems in the estimations including multilateral trade resistances, zero trade values and endogeneity. The results suggest that both the WTO and RTAs have delivered significant positive effects on trade among the participant countries, but not food. Only RTAs are found to have increased food trade among the participant countries. However, although on average the WTO is found to have negative implications on food trade, it facilitates the developing countries more than the developed countries.
Wireless charging modules for electric vehicles play an important role in advancing sustainable urban transportation. This study investigated the social dynamics of research in this domain. We ...achieve this by analyzing the collaborative networks of authors and countries, evaluating the influence of prominent researchers and seminal works, and exploring the interactions between researchers. The main objective of this analysis is to project insights into the prevailing trends and advancements in this domain and to track research trends in Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) for Electric Vehicles (EV), identify key researchers and institutions, and measure the impact of publications through citation analysis. The findings of this study will help researchers and industries obtain a realistic picture of WPT technology. Analyzing all articles related to wireless power charging in electrical vehicles from Scopus publications spanning 2003 to 2024 resulted in the collection of 450 publications. After applying the defined selection criteria, such as relevance to the latest trends in WPT for electric vehicles, publication type, and quality of research, 327 articles were obtained. Furthermore, 327 articles were filtered to 127 from 2017 to 2024 for in-depth investigation. Collaboration patterns and research trends were analyzed using bibliometric methods and statistical tools such as co-authorship analysis, co-citation analysis, and citation network analysis. This analysis reveals a consistent increase in publications, indicating growing academic and industrial interest, and found significant regional variations in research focus, with unique scientific writing styles emerging in different countries. This research underscores the significance of international cooperation in accelerating advancements in WPT for electric vehicles and intends to promote innovation and collaboration in this important subject by providing useful knowledge for researchers, policymakers, and industry.

An innovative control method for 1-phase DSTATCOM incorporating communication network is discussed in this paper to obtain the coordinated control between the Distributed Generators and Compensators. ...The methodology is intended for micro grid supplying loads with feeders traversed physically distant apart from each other. The anticipated reactive compensation is constructed on confined measurement and the transmitted power through the cables. It ensures that the discussed approach minimizes the voltage level more efficiently while sustaining the voltage control even after a high-level dissemination of the DGs. The MATLAB simulations carried over thearbitary network confirm the DSTATCOM outstanding performances with different operating situations like utility side, mid of the feeder and end of the feeder. The impact of communication node breakdown is analyzed at various nodes and the significance of communication in loop control is validated through an arbitrary 5-bus system.
