Objective. Analysis of the structural parameters of the perch (Perca fluviatilis L.) population in the Kremenchuk Reservoir in the world of the development of the program of stocking large flat ...reservoirs of the Dnipro with juveniles of Far Eastern herbivorous fish, there was a need for methodical approaches to reduce the negative impact of small predators on the efficiency of planned stocking. Methodology. Primary materials related to the biology and fishing of perch were collected at the monitoring points of the Institute of Fisheries of the National Academy of Sciences. The basis of this article is the results of our own field research, which was carried out in the entire water area of the Kremenchuk Reservoir during 2016–2021. To determine the composition of catches in nets with different mesh sizes, the refined coefficient of annual commercial mortality was used. Results. The article establishes the general basic population indices of the perch (Perca fluviatilis L.) population in the Kremenchuk Reservoir. Acceptable indices of the perch population and the probability of its negative impact on the stocking of big-headed Chinese carps this year have been established. The scientific novelty of the work is due to the fact that effective stocking is currently possible only in the presence of scientifically based data, which can significantly affect the cost of planting material, and, as a result, the volume of work carried out. These basic principles are able to ensure the sustainable use of aquatic biological resources in natural reservoirs. Practical significance: the biological indices of the P. fluviatilis population presented in this work can be used to calculate the limits for perch commercial fishing in Kremenchuk Reservoir and to assess its negative impact on the stocked young fishes. Key words: perch, Kremenchuk Reservoir, length structure, catch per unit effort, commercial harvest.
The aim was to develop an innovative technology for obtaining high-quality organic marble beef. In the experimental farm “Polyvanivka” of the Institute of Grain Crops NAAS the cultivation of bulls of ...the gray Ukrainian breed up to 30 months of age has been organized using fodder which is traditional for steppe zone of Ukraine. The work has been performed according to the research program of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine no. 37 “System of work in populations and conservation of biological diversity of genetic resources of farm animals” (“Preservation of breed gene pool”). The expediency of organic production of high-quality marble beef obtained in the steppe zone of Ukraine from gray Ukrainian cattle has been proven. This breed has such economically useful features as the duration of production use, longevity, high growth energy (stable average daily gain over 1 kg), and the conversion of diet into products (feed consumption is 70–80 MJ per 1 kg of growth) correlating with the age of the animal, slaughter rates (>60%, meat content is >4 kg per 1 kg of bones, hard skin is >30 kg which belongs to the category of bull production). We have found that it is necessary to determine the cattle fatness not by subcutaneous fat which has no dietary value, but by the beef marbling as a sign of its quality which takes into account the presence of intramuscular and intermuscular fat including unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins A and D, as well as the amount of protein and moisture and taste and culinary features of the carcass flesh, such as tenderness, juiciness and aroma. This meets the requirements of the consumer. The proposals based on the results of research on technological changes in animal husbandry promote the development of meat cattle breeding and are of great economic importance for strengthening the health of the population and food safety in Ukraine.
Purpose. To determine main indicators of economic efficiency in the cultivation of age-1 common carp x Amur wild carp hybrids of different genesis in the conditions of industrial hybridization. ...Methodology. The material for the study were yearlings of common carp x Amur wild carp hybrids produced from age-8 and 9 Amur wild carp males of different genesis. Cultivation of experimental yearlings was carried out in pond conditions of the Lviv Research Station of the Institute of Fisheries of NAAS. The calculations were performed according to generally accepted methods in economics. Analysis of economic efficiency was based on actual indicators of economic activity of the cultivation of yearlings of common carp x Amur wild carp hybrids taking into account current market prices for fish seeds. Findings. The study identified factors, which affected profit obtained as a result of the production process of growing offspring of new genesis. The most economically promising hybrids, which were obtained as a result of crossing common carp females and Amur wild carp males of different genesis were identified. Growing yearlings of common carp x Amur wild carp hybrids produced from crossing Galician and Lubin carp females with cryo-males of Amur wild carp allows the company to obtain higher conditional profit (6655 and 7412 UAH) and ensure an increase in profitability up to 27.74-28.12% by reducing a production unit cost to 46.8-47.0 UAH. Originality. For the first time, the indicators of economic efficiency of growing yearlings of common carp x Amur wild carp hybrids produced from two genetically different groups of brood Amur wild carp (age-8 and 9) were analyzed. Main indicators of the formation of the cost mechanism in production, which comprehensively characterize the efficiency of resource use and the technical level of the production process, were identified. The economic expediency of growing yearlings of common carp x Amur wild carp hybrids of different genesis in the conditions of industrial hybridization was proved. Practical value. Study results have both theoretical and practical importance and can be used in further studies to develop technology for growing common carp x Amur wild carp hybrids of different genesis in modern conditions. Keywords: yearlings, productivity, cost elements, prime cost, profit, profitability.

Purpose. To study the effect of feed supplements NUPRO® and BIO-MOS® on the results of rearing the multiple age groups of channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus Rafinesque). Methodology. The study of ...effect of feed supplements NUPRO® and BIO-MOS® on the results of rearing the multiple age groups of channel catfish have been carried out according to conventional methods. The experiments were conducted in the conditions of Pridneprovsky industrial fish farm of Dnepropetrovsk region. Channel catfish larvae were reared in standard trays. Water volume in trays was maintained at a level of 1.4 m3, stocking density of larvae was 20 thousand fish/tray. Rearing of young-of-the-year channel catfish was conducted in 1 m3 cages, stocking density of grown up larvae was 1000 fish/m3. Age 1+ channel catfish was reared in 1 m3 cages, stocking density was 150 fish/m3. Findings.
