The Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS) is a comprehensive guideline to systematize breast imaging reporting, and as per its recommendations, any lesion with likelihoods of malignancy ...greater than 2% is deemed as suspicious and tissue diagnosis is recommended. The aim of the study is to determine the positive predictive value (PPV) of BI-RADS categories 4a, 4b, and 4c for malignancy and association of mammographic morphological features of BI-RADS 4 subgroups with malignant outcomes. We retrospectively reviewed all the patients undergoing mammography with BI-RADS score of 4 followed by biopsy from May 2019 to April 2020. The predictive values of BI-RADS 4 subcategories and morphological features with malignancy are performed taking histopathology report as the gold standard. The PPV of BI-RADS subcategories 4a, 4b, and 4c for malignancies were 34, 89, and 97%, respectively. BI-RADS 4c patients tend to be older (50.2 ± 12.2 vs. 44.6 ± 10.3 years) with larger mass (44 ± 16 vs. 32.9 ± 16.8 mm) at presentation than 4a. Postmenopausal state (

= 0.03) and older age (
P
= 0.019) were significantly associated with malignancy. There is no meaningful difference observed in the predictability of BI-RADS category 4c lesions among different breast density patterns. The overall higher PPV for BI-RADS 4a and 4b reflects subjectivity in subcategory assignments of BI-RADS 4. In patients, less than 40 years with the BI-RADS 4a category on mammograms may undergo supplementary imaging with MRI which may downscale the lesion classification in turn reducing unnecessary biopsy and surgery.
The study focuses on two breeds of dog namely Labrador retriever and German shepherd to investigate the different haematological parameters. Blood samples were collected from these two breeds of dog, ...and haematological parameters such as haemoglobin (Hb), total erythrocyte count (TEC), total leukocyte count (TLC), packed cell volume (PCV), mean corpuscular volume (MCV) and mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH) were investigated. Though literatures on haematological profiling of dogs are in record, a comparative study between two breeds namely Labrador retriever and German has not been explained adequately. So, this study was undertaken to establish a comparative analysis of haematological parameters of two breeds of dog. Sex-wise variations in the haematological values as well as a significant correlation between different parameters have been reported in these two breeds of dog.
BACKGROUND Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a widely prevalent lifestyle disease associated with high morbidity and mortality due to dead end complications like acute coronary syndrome, chronic kidney ...failure and acute stroke. Diabetes mellitus patients frequently develop problems of dyselectrolytemia which is common among hospitalised patients with decompensated diabetes. But there is little information on the prevalence of electrolyte disturbances among diabetes patients. Our aim is to find out the pattern of dyselectrolytemia among type 2 diabetes patients and to know if there is any association of blood glucose level with dyselectrolytemia. METHODS An analytical cross-sectional study was done among type 2 diabetes patients admitted in the department of medicine. Fasting blood glucose (FBG), glycosylated haemoglobin level (HbA1c), blood sodium (Na+), potassium (K+) and calcium (Ca2+) were analysed. Occurrence of dyselectrolytemia was compared between patients of very much controlled versus uncontrolled blood glucose levels. RESULTS Out of 199 patients included in the study, 112 (56 %) had uncontrolled diabetes mellitus (DM) with HbA1c level > / = 7.0 %. Occurrence of hyponatremia, hypokalaemia, hyperkalaemia, hypocalcaemia and hypercalcemia were 35 %, 13 %, 7 %, 16 % and 2 % respectively. In diabetes patients, hyponatremia was seen more commonly in patients with uncontrolled DM than those with very much controlled blood glucose (52.67 % versus 12.64 %, p < 0.001). The extent of patients with hypokalaemia or hyperkalaemia didn't vary between the two groups. Patients on insulin treatment were more likely to have hyponatremia than noninsulin patients (p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS Type 2 DM patients specifically those who have uncontrolled diabetes mellitus have an increased chance to develop dyselectrolytemia. The most well-known electrolyte disturbances seen were hyponatremia followed by hypocalcaemia in our study and they were generally predominant among patients with uncontrolled DM. Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the risk of hip fracture using proximal femoral morphometry in fractured and nonfractured postmenopausal women.Methods: We conducted an ...observational cross-sectional study with 138 postmenopausal women (49 fractured and 89 nonfractured). The hip axis length (HAL), femoral neck axis length (FNAL), acetabular width (AW), femoral head width (FHW), femoral shaft width (FSW), and femoral neck shaft angle (FNSA) were measured in all cases by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry. We also studied the correlation between body mass index (BMI) with all the parameters in fractured and control groups.Results: The mean age, height, weight, and BMI were 61.24±3.23, 163.94±7.84 cm, 71.88±9.14 kg, and 26.72±2.78 kg/m², respectively, in fractured patients. In nonfractured patients the values were 59.73±5.32, 161.73±4.25 cm, 69.54±6.25 kg, and 26.74±2.23 kg/m² respectively. The mean HAL, FNAL, AW, FHW, FSW, and FNSA were 130.5±3.18 mm, 111.26±3.64 mm, 18.2±1.91 mm, 53.46±1.51 mm, 37.45±1.82 mm, and 132.76±3.15 degree incase group and 130.84±4.74 mm, 112.48±4.08 mm, 17.57±2.32 mm, 53.4±1.86 mm, 35.29±1.82 mm, and 128.76±3.6° in control group, respectively.Conclusion: The femoral parameters such as HAL, FNAL, AW, and FHW do not indicate any correlation between fractured and control groups, whereas FSW and FNSA were significantly higher in case group. The FNSA was having significant negative correlation with BMI in fractured group while that was having a significant positive correlation in the nonfractured group. This observation will be helpful in exploration of its clinical significance in proximal femoral fracture.Keywords: Proximal femur, Morphometry, Postmenopausal, Fracture.

Abstract
Objective
This study was done with the aim to compare the clinical outcome and patient's quality of life between early (within 24 hours post-injury) versus delayed (after 24 hours to 7 days) ...surgically treated patients of acute cervical spinal cord injury. The current study was based on the hypothesis that early surgical decompression and fixations in acute cervical spinal cord trauma are safe and are associated with improved outcome as compared with delayed surgical decompression.
Methods
A total of 54 patients were recruited and divided into early decompression surgery group A (operated within 24 hours of trauma;
n
= 25) and late/delayed decompression surgery group B (operated between 24 hours and 7 days of trauma;
n
= 29). The patients in both groups were followed up, and comparative differences noted in the neurological outcome, quality of life, and bony fusion.
Results
The early surgery group had lesser postoperative complications. In group A, 54.17% patients had 1 American Spinal Injury Association Impairment Scale (AIS) grade improvement, while 29.17% experienced > 2 AIS grade improvement (
p
= 0.015). In group B, the neurological improvement was 50 and 21.43%, respectively (
p
= 0.003). There was a significant improvement in the postoperative quality of life scores in early surgery group.
Conclusion
Early surgery in patients with acute cervical spinal cord injury should be considered strongly in view of the lesser complications, better neurological recovery, and reduced mortality.
