The research aimed to analyze the metaphor constructions and pedagogic values in the tiba meka dance. Students’ character building through metaphor construction in traditional dance had not been ...widely investigated; meanwhile, the metaphors used in this dance contain great values for encouraging students’ positive attitudes. Metaphor construction had a fundamental role for the students to have creative thought and deepen their understanding of its nature and role as a real communication language. The proper metaphor’s construction encouraged a student to be a catalyst in cross-cultural communication and appreciated the values contained in the metaphor delivered. The research was carried out between February and December 2019 and involved 30 respondents. The instruments used in collecting data were a set of stationery, questionnaire, interview, documentation, field notes, and recordings. These data were analyzed qualitatively through the phenomenological method. The findings show that the tiba meka dance is inseparable from the use of metaphors, namely bird, vegetation, body, sun, and water metaphors that have great pedagogic values, such as honesty, responsibility, and disciplin that contribute to the character building for students. The ideologies that underline tiba meka dance are morals, identity, and economy.
The Church believed that her faith had social relevance. God, who is believed in, is responded to in concrete cultural and political situations. Therefore, the Church is no longer an isolated ...religious institution but integral to people's life experiences. Currently, the Indonesian nation is not only in a political crisis but also a crisis of political behavior. This crisis is exacerbated because the political elite has no shame in politics. Empirically, it is effortless to find examples of how there is no sense of shame because they have been guilty in society, and most prominently in the attitudes of political elites. It is no secret that many leaders and political elites are guilty of causing various crises, but when appearing in public, they do not show that they are guilty. Thus, this study aims to find the ethical values of the passion story of Jesus based on the Gospel of John. John presents the story of Jesus' passion for showing Jesus' empire as King through His "exaltation" on the Cross. Through this reading, leaders and public officials know and behave as leaders in front of the people. This research is a critical reading of the story of the passion of Jesus so that ethical points are found on how the political elite should act in the public sphere.
The main focus of this article is to explore the wealth of wisdom encapsulated in the proverb "Nai Ngalis Tuka Ngengga," which is ingrained in the culture of Hambor Manggarai. The goal of this ...writing is to make the local wisdom of Nai Ngalis Tuka Ngengga in the Hambor Manggarai culture a philosophical study to enhance the awareness of Indonesian society in living and interpreting their being in the midst of the community, particularly in embracing a narrative of peace. The concept of authenticity by Martin Heidegger emphasizes how Dasein, which is the human being aware of its existence in the world, plays a role in this context. In the exposition on authenticity, authentic Dasein becomes the answer to human forgetfulness of its existence in the world. In this context, "Being" describes the wisdom of the Manggarai people in understanding and embracing the Hambor culture in their daily lives. The research methodology used in this study is qualitative research with a literature review approach. The research findings indicate that the proverbial wisdom in embracing Hambor culture represents authentic consciousness in the community's celebration of the narrative of peace. This research contributes to addressing the conflicts present in society today, such as identity politics, conflicts related to the construction of places of worship, and widespread human rights violations due to a lack of understanding of the meaning of Hambor culture.
The main focus of this article is to explore the wealth of intersubjective values contained in activities réis, ruis, raés, raos Manggarai people. The goal to be achieved is to make local wisdom ...réis, ruis, raés, raos as a presentation of philosophical thought that contributes to the civilization of rationality of the Indonesian nation. The concept of intersubjectivity in activities réis, ruis, raés, raos occurs because the relationship that is built based on these four activities will become a relationship that is intimate, harmonious, constructive, equal, parallel, and humane-human. To understand and study culture réis, ruis, raés, raos, this article uses Gabriel Marcel's concept of intersubjectivity. The research methodology used is qualitative research with a literature study approach. This study found that réis, ruis, raés, raos are frames of Intersubjective relations of the Manggaraian people. This research contributes to how to overcome the phenomenon of individualism that is rife in the lives of the Manggarai people today due to the lack of exploration and deep meaning of the intersubjective values contained in the activities of réis, ruis, raés, and raos.
The purpose of this article is to examine primordial issues in electoral political contestation in a plural Indonesian society. Electoral political contestation became a breeding ground for ...primordial issues. The majority wants to be led by a leader who is of the majority religion. Religious and tribal issues are used to win political contests. Indigenous and pagan narratives are echoed and lead to division. This aticle uses qualitative methodology with a leterer study approach referring to Emmauel Levinas' ethical theory of responsibility for analyzing data. The levinian ethic of responsibility expresses the idea of placing others as unique and different subjects altogether through their visible faces. The consequence is that the other must be respected and valued as subjects. At the same time the presence of others becomes the responsibility of "me", not absorbing others to equate with myself or even subjugate or master. Data is obtained from internet searches such as news and surveys conducted by LSI (Indonesian Survey Institute). This article finds that the understanding of politics is reduced only to the understanding of electoral political contestation alone. Poltik lost its meaning as a form of living together to achieve the common good (Bonum Commune). The article proposes that Indonesian education incorporate political education into the national education curriculum and multicultural education is further emphasized in schools so that primordial issues do not develop rapidly, and future generations can accept Indonesia's plural reality.
This research aims to explain the phenomenon of catcalling as a form of verbal sexual harassment against women in Malang from the perspective of Emmanuel Levinas' facial philosophy. This catcalling ...terminology emerged from several large urban areas in Indonesia, such as Jakarta, Malang, Yogyakarta and Surabaya. Catcalling is called verbal sexual harassment because the perpetrator responds to the victim, such as whistling, sexually nuanced remarks in the form of words that make the victim uncomfortable, feel humiliated and attack the victim's sexual attributes. Among urban communities, the term catcalling has a vague meaning because it is a joke or joke to victims, most of whom are women. This paper aims to describe, analyze and find out the form of communication from catcalling. The author uses a phenomenological analysis methodology. The type of research used is qualitative research methods: a critical reading of the text and observations. As for the findings in this study, they were catcalling, verbal sexual harassment and rape culture. For Levinas, the victim or woman who experiences catcalls is the other who is tortured and harmed.
Populism is an old phenomenon but a new phenomenon that was brought up in power politics. Because it is something new, understanding the phenomenon of populism is also diverse. Some see it as a ...political movement that threatens constitutional democracy, but there are also those who see it as a movement to rejuvenate democracy. Urbinati, author of the book Me The People. How Populism Transforms Democracy, sees populism as a movement for power. According to her, populism changed the three pillars of modern democracy, namely the people (rakyat), the principle of majority (prinsip mayoritas), and the system of representation (sistem perwakilan) by reinterpreting the three. People are no longer understood as people who have sovereignty but people as masses who are united based on party, religion, ideology, and so on. The principle of majority is no longer understood procedurally to gain power but as control of others. Representation is not understood as an envoy but as ownership, whichis the embodiment of the people who have absolute power over the people. With these three transformations, according to the author, populism is a product of the failure of the malfunctions of party’s democracy

Penelitian studi ini memiliki tujuan menelaah pendidikan karakter sebagai fondasi atau titik tolak terwujudnya politik simpatik. Politik simpatik dalam hal ini merujuk pada bagaimana ...kekuasaan itu diolah dengan baik. Dewasa ini politik seperti itu sedang mengalami degradasi. Fenomena banyaknya kasus korupsi, sikap apatis dan intoleransi di lingkaran para pejabat atau pemimpinan negara mencerminkan situasi melemahnya “roh” politik simpatik tersebut. Tentu saja ada begitu banyak asumsi yang menggarisbawahi alasan dibalik fenomena itu muncul. Menurut penulis peningkatan pendidikan karakter mendesak untuk diimplementasikan. Pendidikan karakter sedapat mungkin dikenal dan didalami setiap masyarakat, terutama generasi muda. Riset ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif yakni studi pustaka dengan pendekatan fenomenologis dan ditinjau dari perspektif Filsafat Politik Armada Riyanto. Dari riset ini, penulis menemukan titik dasar apa yang menjadi penopang keberhasilan sebuah politik simpatik yakni melalui pendidikan karakter. Melalui mutu Pendidikan karakter yang baik dan efesien, anak bangsa akan mampu mengaktualkan semangat politik simpatik ini.
