, 0.546 (µB), and 0.922 respectively on an independent test set, indicating that our model predicts the compositional dependent magnetism in bimetallic chalcogenides with a high degree of accuracy. A generalized algorithm is also developed to test the universality of our proposed model for any concentration of Ni, Co, Cr, or Mn up to 62.5% in bimetallic chalcogenides.
Tumour sampling is indispensable to diagnostic and therapeutic decision making. Thus, 18F-FDG PET/CT has the potential to accurately discriminate between viable and non-viable tissues due to its ...ability to characterise the metabolism of visible tissues. This study's objective was to evaluate the incremental utility of 18F-FDG PET-CT-guided metabolic biopsy in individuals with suspected lesions and a previous negative anatomical biopsy. This study included a total of 190 consecutive patients with probable malignancy and who had experienced a previous unsuccessful anatomical biopsy who underwent PET-CT-guided metabolic biopsy. We retrospectively analysed the patients' medical records and imaging investigations to assess demographics, complications, pathologies, and final clinical diagnoses. Using multivariate logistic regression, correlation between several confounding factors that lead to post-procedural problems was evaluated. Adequate material was obtained in all patients, and 162 (85%) were found to be positive for malignancy with a diagnostic yield of 96.9%. In 25 (13.1%) patients, post-procedural complications were reported, with pneumothorax being the most prevalent issue. In evaluating oncological patients, metabolic biopsy provides a safer alternative therapy with a high diagnostic yield and comparable complications. PET-CT, being an essential component of cancer staging, may serve as a one-stop shop for the management of these patients' conditions.

The accretion of matter onto a massive black hole is believed to feed the relativistic plasma jets found in many active galactic nuclei (AGN). Although some AGN accelerate particles to energies ...exceeding 10¹² electron volts and are bright sources of very-high-energy (VHE) γ-ray emission, it is not yet known where the VHE emission originates. Here we report on radio and VHE observations of the radio galaxy Messier 87, revealing a period of extremely strong VHE γ-ray flares accompanied by a strong increase of the radio flux from its nucleus. These results imply that charged particles are accelerated to very high energies in the immediate vicinity of the black hole.

Three-dimensional structures of complexes of the SH2 domain of the v-src oncogene product with two phosphotyrosyl peptides have been determined by X-ray crystallography at resolutions of 1.5 and 2.0 ...A, respectively. A central antiparallel beta-sheet in the structure is flanked by two alpha-helices, with peptide binding mediated by the sheet, intervening loops and one of the helices. The specific recognition of phosphotyrosine involves amino-aromatic interactions between lysine and arginine side chains and the ring system in addition to hydrogen-bonding interactions with the phosphate.

In this paper, a simple and efficient strategy of one-pot synthesis of Ag doped TiO2/ZnO photocatalyst was developed using hydrothermal process. Simultaneous crystallization of Ag and ZnO crystals ...from their precursor solution containing P25 (TiO2) NPs could form effectively bonded Ag/TiO2/ZnO composite photocatalyst during hydrothermal treatment. Several analytical techniques, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), FT-IR spectroscopy, and photoluminescence spectroscopy have been used to characterize the resulting Ag/TiO2/ZnO photocatalyst. Results showed that ZnO nano-flowers doped with TiO2 and Ag NPs were formed by this simple facile one-step process. The unique properties of Ag NPs on binary semiconductor composite not only provide the decreased rate of electron–hole separation but also prevent from the loss of photocatalyst during recovery due to the fixed attachment of Ag and TiO2 NPs on the surface of flower shaped large ZnO particles. Therefore, as-synthesized composite is an economically and environmentally friendly photocatalyst.
