To prepare and characterize monoclonal antibodies (mAb) against VP22 carboxyl terminus of CVI988/Rispens strain of Marek's disease virus serotype 1.
Carboxyl terminus of CVI988 VP22 (94aa-243aa) was ...expressed in prokaryotic system. mAbs against VP22 were prepared by hybridoma technology from BALB/c mice immunized with the fusion protein GST-VP22C and characterized by ELISA, indirect fluorescence assay (IFA) and Western blot.
Two hybridoma cell lines stably secreting mAb against VP22C were obtained and designated as 3F7 and 4E4. mAb 3F7 could react with VP22 expressed in all the plaques, while mAb 4E4 stained all the cells nuclei in MDV-infected CEF cells. It was also found that 3F7 could react with VP22 expressed in Sf9 cells and denatured VP22 by Western blot analysis. In addition, it was further showed that the epitope of mAb 3F7 was located within the domain between 94aa and 193aa, the predicted site of protein transduction domain of VP22.

The cDNA encoding an antiviral protein SP-2 against BmNPV was cloned from the midgut of Chinese wild silkworm, Bombyx mandarina Moore (GenBank access AY945210) based on the available information of ...the domesticated silkworm. Its cDNA was 855 bp encoding 284 amino acids with predicted molecular weight of 29.6 kDa. Its full length in genomics was 1376 bp, including 5 exons and 4 introns. The expression analysis indicated that it was only expressed in midgut, and its expression level was higher during feeding stage of larval instars while very lower during the moltism and mature stages. The deduced amino acid sequence of this protein showed eight-amino-acid variation compared with the counterpart of domesticated silkworm. Its antiviral activity was assayed through in vitro test. The results indicated that it showed strong bioactivity against BmNPV, and its activity was 1.6 fold higher that the counterpart of domesticated silkworm.
We search for the di-photon decay of a light pseudoscalar axion-like particle, \(a\), in radiative \(J/\psi\) decays, using 10 billion \(J/\psi\) events collected with the BESIII detector. We find no ...evidence of a signal and set upper limits at the \(95\%\) confidence level on the product branching fraction \(\mathcal{B}(J/\psi \to \gamma a) \times \mathcal{B}(a \to \gamma \gamma)\) and the axion-like particle photon coupling constant \(g_{a \gamma \gamma}\) in the ranges of \((3.7-48.5) \times 10^{-8}\) and \((2.2 -101.8)\times 10^{-4}\) GeV\(^{-1}\), respectively, for \(0.18 \le m_a \le 2.85\) GeV/\(c^2\). These are the most stringent limits to date in this mass region.

The birth prevalence of birth defects (232.4 per 10,000 births) and neural tube defects (NTDs) (138.7 per 10,000 births) in four counties of Shanxi province were significantly higher than that in Taiyuan city (75.3 and 28.2 per 10,000 births, respectively). There was no significant difference for all selected birth defects between Wuxi city and Xishan counties in low risk areas. There was a 6.1-fold of higher prevalence for NTDs in Taiyuan city compared with that in Wuxi areas (4.6 per 10,000 births). The ...investigation was carried out from August 2007 to March 2008 among residents in Changtang village where the first case of filariasis was found and the neighboring villages. They were screened with two thick blood smears. Immunochromatographic technology (ICT) was conducted for those going out but returned and those in surrounding areas. Vector mosquitoes were collected and dissected to find filaria larvae. Historical documents were reviewed and relevant people were interviewed.
In Changtang administrative village, 1052 residents were screened and 19 cases with microfilaremia were found in 2 natural villages, with a Mf-positive rate of 1.8% (5.1% in Gangshang and 1.4% in Yinshan respectively). No Mf-positive case was found in 4119 residents screened in other 3 villages. The average microfilaria density in the 19 cases was 17.
We present a measurement of the integrated luminosity of \(e^+e^-\) collision data collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider at a center-of-mass energy of \(E_{\rm cm} = 3.773\)~GeV. ...The integrated luminosities of the data sets taken from December 2021 to June 2022, from November 2022 to June 2023, and from October 2023 to February 2024 are determined to be \(4.995 \pm 0.019\)~fb\(^{-1}\), \(8.157 \pm 0.031\)~fb\(^{-1}\), and \(4.191 \pm 0.016\)~fb\(^{-1}\), respectively, by analyzing large angle Bhabha scattering events. The uncertainties are dominated by systematic effects and the statistical uncertainties are negligible. Our results provide essential input for future analyses and precision measurements.

HBsAg could be detected in infection group by ELISA. Infection group cell culture medium and infection group cells were HBV DNA positive. HBV DNA concentrations in HBV infection cell culture medium in 0, 12, 36, 60, 84 h after extensively PBS washed were < 10(3), 3 x 10(4), 6 x 10(5), 5 x 10(5), 3 x 10(5) copies/mL. Acute pulmonary thromboembolism (APE) causes right ventricular dysfunction (RVD) and cardiac troponin I (cTnI) elevation. Patients with RVD and cTnI elevation have a worse prognosis. Thus, early ...detection of RVD and cTnI elevation is beneficial for risk stratification. In this study, we assessed 14-day adverse clinical events and combined RVD on transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) with cTnI in risk stratification among a broad spectrum of APE patients.
The prospective multi-centre trial included 90 patients with confirmed APE from 12 collaborating hospitals. Acute RVD on TTE was diagnosed in the presence of at least 2 of the following: right ventricular dilatation (without hypertrophy), loss of inspiratory collapse of inferior vena cava (IVC), right ventricular (RV) hypokinesis, tricuspid regurgitant jet velocity > 2.8 m/s. The study patients were divided into two groups according to clinical and echocardiographic findings at presentation: Group I: 50 patients with RVD; Group II: 40 patients without RVD.
More than half of the patients (50/90, 55.6%) had RVD. Nearly one third (26/90, 28.9%) of patients had elevated cTnI at presentation and only 4.2% on the fourth day after initial therapy. A multiple Logistic regression model implied RVD, right and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter ratio (RVED/LVED), and cTnI independently predict an adverse 14-day clinical outcome (P < 0.01). Receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curves revealed that the cut-off values of RVED/LVED and cTnI yielding the highest discriminating power were 0.65 and 0.11 ng/ml, respectively. Furthermore, the incidence of an adverse 14-day clinical event in patients with RVD and elevated cTnI was greater (40.7%) than in patients with elevated cTnI or positive RVD alone (0% and 8.3%, respectively) (P < 0.001).
RVD, RVED/LVED, and cTnI are independent predictors of 14-day clinical outcomes. The patients with RVED/LVED greater than 0.65 and cTnI higher than 0.11 ng/ml at presentation possibly have adverse 14-day events. RVD combined with cTnI can identify a subgroup of APE patients with a much more guarded prognosis.
Solid state B-offerings (FeB compound) were used for plasma-assisted boronizing on Ti6Al4V alloy by double glow discharge plasma alloying technique (DGPSA). The thickness and morphology, phase formation, elements concentrations and wear properties of boride layers were examined by means of optical microscopy, Vickers microhardness, X-ray diffraction, glow discharge optical emission spectroscopy and Ball-disk wear tests. The results show that friction coefficient of boride alloying samples versus cortmdum ball is lower than that of Ti6Al4V samples, as well as wear rate. This indicates that plasma-assisted boronizing of Ti6Al4V alloy has a high potential for industrial applications under tribological conditions.
To evaluate the effects of small interference RNA (siRNA) on epidermal growth factor-like domain 7 (egfl7) gene expression in human endothelial cell line HUVEC.
siRNA targeting egfl7 (siRNA1, siRNA2, ...siRNA3 and siRNA4) was constructed through online design of Amnion company and transfected into human endothelial cell line HUVEC with lipofectamine. The nontransfected cells and cells treated with control siRNA were taken as controls. At 24, 48 and 72 hours post various interventions, cell viability was determined by MTS method as well as LDH and ATP releasing tests. egfl7 expressions at protein and mRNA levels were detected by Western blot and RT-PCR respectively.
Cell survival rate, LDH and ATP release were significantly reduced in siRNA treated cells compared to control cells (P < 0.05). Similarly, egfl7 expression at protein and mRNA levels was also significantly reduced in siRNA treated cells (P < 0.01), especially in siRNA1 treated cells.
siRNA inhibited egfl7 gene expression and cell survival in HUVEC.
