Humana reprodukcija obuhvaća široko područje spolnosti i života, koje se odnosi na pojedinca, brak, obitelj te užu i širu zajednicu u kojoj čovjek živi. Priziv savjesti znači odbijanje propisivanja i ...primjene neodgovarajućeg moralno upitnoga sredstva za odgovarajuću reproduktivnu situaciju. To je odbijanje štetnog djelovanja zbog dubokog osobnog uvjerenja na razini savjesti da bi se određenim postupkom, ako bi se htio i primijenio u danim okolnostima, oštetio, onemogućio i uništio reproduktivni život, zdravlje i dostojanstvo ljudi. Ovdje se razmatra njegov opseg primjene uz naravno i vrhunaravno utemeljenje. Osnova priziva savjesti u humanoj reprodukciji čine znanstvene i stručne činjenice iz kojih je jasno shvatljivo kako ljudski život započinje začećem. Prikazani su raznoliki oblici priziva savjesti te mogući razlozi njegove neupotrebe.
Human reproduction covers a wide area of sexuality and life, which refers to the individual, marriage, family, and the narrower and wider community in which a person lives. Appeal to conscience means refusing the prescription and application of an inappropriate morally questionable means for a corresponding reproductive situation. It is the rejection of harmful action due to a deep personal conviction at the level of conscience that a certain procedure, if it were to be applied in the given circumstances, would damage, disable and destroy the reproductive life, health and dignity of people. This paper examines its scope of application with a natural and super natural foundation. The basis of the appeal to conscience in human reproduction is scientific and professional facts from which it is clearly intelligible that human life begins with conception. Various forms of appeal to conscience and possible reasons for its non-use are presented.
Unatoč deklarativnoj zaštićenosti ljudske osobe i njezinih primarnih konstitucionalnih
prava na život, zagarantiranih brojnim konvencijama i deklaracijama,
ontološki status ljudskog zametka osporavan ...je u svojem prenatalnom stadiju
različitim bioetičkim i antropološkim paradigmama, kako bi se njime moglo autonomno
raspolagati raznoraznim pragmatičnim interesima prava na samoopredjeljenje
ili pak u biomedicinskim istraživanjima.
Cilj je rada ukazati da je čovjek biće iznimne biološke ljepote, nepovredivosti,
svetosti i dostojanstva te da se njegov život i zdravlje ne smiju narušavati bioetički
neprihvatljivim metodama ljudske reprodukcije. Na temelju znanstvenih,
stručnih i iskustvenih općeljudskih čimbenika, na temelju višerazinskog (tijelo,
psiha, duh), međudisciplinarnog proučavanja (ravnopravnog dijaloga različitih
znanosti), omjera koristi i štete (cost–benefit, isplativost) koje uzrokuju, na temelju
zdravorazumskog promišljanja, suusmjeravanja (konvergencije) različitih
čimbenika prema istomu žarištu promatranja ljudskog bića, nužna je zaštita čovjeka
od rođenja do naravne mu smrti.
Despite the declarative protectedness of the human person and his primary constitutional
rights to life guaranteed by multiple conventions and declarations, the
ontological status of the human embryo has been disputed in its prenatal stage by
various bioethical and anthropological paradigms such that it can be dealt with autonomously
by various pragmatic interests of the right to self–determination or in
biomedical research.
The aim of this paper is highlight the fact that man is a being of exceptional biological
beauty, inviolable sanctity and dignity, and that his life and health must
not be tampered with through unacceptable methods of human reproduction. On
the basis of scientific, expert and experiential universal human factors, on the basis
of multi–level (body, psyche, spirit) interdisciplinary studies (dialogue on an equal
level among various sciences), the rate of benefit and harm (cost–benefit) which they
cause, on the basis of common sense, the convergence of various factors toward the
same focal point of observation of the human being, it is imperative that man be
protected from birth to natural death.

Asymmetric neonatal crying is a rare minor congenital abnormality caused by unilateral agenesis or hypoplasia of depressor anguli oris muscle and depressor labii inferioris muscle. It is either an ...isolated clinical finding or one of the clinical findings included in several malformation syndromes linked to a microdeletion within a chromosomal region 22q11.2. Some malformations in that region are associated with serious cardiovascular anomalies. Nowadays, standard diagnostic techniques for detecting aberrations within the chromosomal region 22q11.2 are fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and multiplex ligation probe amplification (MLPA). This short report describes an eutrophic female newborn whose both lip corners are symmetrically positioned while at rest; while crying, left lip corner and left half of the lower lip are falling. She also has partial bilateral syndactyly between second and third toe, open foramen ovale and by ultrasound detected hyperechogenic region in the thalamus and brain parenchyme. Aiming to investigate etiopathogenesis of the newborn asymmetric crying and accompanying minor abnormalities, we have tried to verify or exclude: microdeletion syndrome, TORCH infection and birth injury. Recognising such a paresis soon after the delivery is of great importance and can be helpful in detecting other accompanying anomalies, especially cardiovascular anomalies.
Tumors that grow within the adrenal medulla are called pheochromocytoma; when located extra-adrenal, they are called paraganglioma. Paraganglioma of the bladder are very rare, with only 180 reported ...cases. Less than 30 were malignant. We report a case of a 72-years old man with bladder paraganglioma who presented with painless hematuria. Urgent transurethral resection (TUR) was performed. Definitive pathohistological diagnosis was confirmed to imunohistochemical and electron microscopy. Clinical diagnostic showed normal value of epinephrine and norepinehrine in the urine. Scintigraphy of entire body and targeted pictures of pelvis where taken 24, 48 and 72 hours after administration of RI. No loci of pathologic accumulation of 131-I MIBG where found. Computer tomography (CT) of pelvis and abdomen were normal. Considering staging and pathohistological analysis, we treated our patient with TUR and longtime follow-up afterworth.

The present study asses the prevalence of depressive symptoms among college students in Split, Croatia, and positive influence of sport activity on decreasing the depression symptoms. Authors ...screened all 664 college students of the first year of study. All of them were over the 18 years and the mean age was 19.4 +/- 1.2 years. There were 466 females (70.2%) and 178 (26.8%) males. They answered The Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and questionnaire about their sport activity (no sport activity, recreational and active in sports). For the purpose of the analysis depressive symptoms were defined as a score of > 11. Chi-square and Mann-Whitney test were used for data analysis. 9.4% of the students had significant depression symptoms (score > 11). No one student had score > 26 (symptoms of major depression). Statistically significant lower score on BDI have students who are active in sports (score median = 3) compared to group of recreational (score median = 4) and in correlation to group who are not active in sports (score median = 5) (Kruskal-Wallis: p < 0.001). In the group of active in sports (N = 254) there are only 5.5% with depressions symptoms, while in the group of non active in sports (N = 60) are 18 depressive (chi2-test: p = 0,005). Females are statistically more depressed than males (chi2-test: p = 0.01). In the female group 49 (10.5%) are depressed, and in the male group are 9 (5%). Compared to gender in separate analysis we did not find correlation of decreasing depression symptoms and sport activity among males (chi2-test: p = 0.47), while in females we find that sport activity has significant effect (chi2-test: p = 0.026). Our results shoved moderate values of depression symptoms among college population in Split, Croatia. More females than males experienced depressive symptoms. While sport activity did not have significant influence on the depression in male population, it has significant influence in reducing the depression symptoms among females.

Obiteljski profil stanovništva Republike Hrvatske bitno se promijenio. Od skladne obiteljske atmosfere uz pravovremenost braka i djece, deagrarizacijom i urbanizacijom obitelj je izgubila ...tradicionalan izgled. Prihvaćanjem razdvajanja neraskidivosti bračnog čina i rađanja otvara se prostor manipulacijama s plodnošću, kontracepcijom i medicinski pomognutom oplodnjom (MPO). Time je omogućena odgoda braka i rađanja za biološki već neprikladno vrijeme. Stvorena je anti–obiteljska atmosfera. Slične promjene događaju se u većini Europskih zemalja.
The demographic profile of the family in the Republic of Croatia has changed fundamentally in the last forty years. The harmonious family atmosphere in which care was taken to preserve it from generation to generation and the timeliness of marriage and childbirth are no longer the rule, for deagrarianization and urbanization have caused the family to lose its traditional appearance. When young adults are at the age of optimal biological maturity, the planning of a family is not possible for various reasons, primarily economic in nature. Moreover, it has become acceptable to separate the marriage act from procreation, and this has created a space for the manipulation of fertility. For fifty years or so, various methods of contraception have been developed and are being used, including in vitro fertilization and stem cell storage at the KRIO Institute. Surrogate motherhood is also not a novelty. Contraception enables people to postpone marriage and childbirth even until this is biologically inappropriate, consequently, numerous complications are possible in relation to conception and pregnancy follow–ups, and birth to older primiparae. Whatever technique is used in delaying childbirth, the same effect is achieved in young adults, and that is fear of having a family, fear of having a child. An anti–family atmosphere has been created because of which children are unwanted and marriage without children is normal. A contraceptive mentality has been created. Similar changes are occurring in the majority of European countries, but at various rates, and these are leading us to extinction. It is of vital importance to change thought patterns, to again adopt a pro–family way of thinking since this has been neglected. Young people must be guided at an early age toward building an awareness of the importance of starting a family, producing offspring at the proper time and also maintaining and promoting the family unit as such.
