Oro-antral communications/fistulae (OAC/OAF) can cause significant patient morbidity, with treatment for defects greater than 5mm in size requiring surgical reconstruction. This technical note ...evaluates the effectiveness, and proposes the use of, the temporal extension of the buccal fat pad (TEBFP) for the closure of large OAC. The TEBFP can be an effective means of large OAC closure due to its ease of harvesting, with minimal damage to surrounding structures or aesthetic changes. The use of the TEBFP provides stability, versatility, and tension-free closure, with minimal postoperative complications.
Masseter hypertrophy presents as unilateral or bilateral swellings over the ramus and angle of the mandible. It is caused by malocclusion, clenching, TMJ disorders, etc and alters facial symmetry, ...leading to discomfort and negative cosmetic impact in many patients, making this a popular request for aesthetic and functional correction.
This case report involves injecting Botulinum toxin into 6 equidistant bulging points on the masseter. Standardized photography and clinical parameters were used to assess facial contour and masseter muscle thickness at baseline and successive follow ups.
Significant masseteric bulk reduction was observed in subsequent follow ups.
The 6-point technique was found to be an effective treatment modality for Botox injection in masseteric hypertrophy. The clinical method to quantify prognosis was easy and economical.
In Ayurvedic medicine, the Punica granatum is considered “a Pharmacy unto itself”. In the present study we found that the chloroform and methanol extract of Punica granatum fruits has a role in ...preventing Urolithiasis in male rats.
The traditional use of Punica granatum has been reported to regulate urine discharge and controls the burning sensation of urine.
Animals model of calcium oxalate urolithiasis was developed in male rats by adding ethylene glycol 0.75% in drinking water. The Punica granatum chloroform extract (PGCE) and Punica grantum methanol extract (PGME) orally at 100, 200 and 400mg/kg, respectively, were administered along with ethylene glycol for 28 days. On 28 day, 24h urine was collected from individual rats and used for estimation of urine calcium, phosphate and oxalate. The serum creatinine, urea and uric acid levels were estimated in each animal. The kidney homogenate was used for the estimation of renal oxalate contents. The paraffin kidney sections were prepared to observe the CaOx deposits.
The ethylene glycol control (Gr.-II) had significant (P<0.001 vs. normal) increase in levels of urine oxalate, calcium and phosphate, serum creatinine, urea and uric acid and renal tissues oxalates, as compared to normal (Gr.-I). The paraffin kidney sections show significant histopathological changes. The treatment of PGCE and PGME at 100, 200 and 400mg/kg doses, significantly (P<0.001 vs. control) decreased the urine oxalate, calcium and phosphate, renal tissue oxalates and serum creatinine, urea and uric acid, in EG induced urolithiasis after 28 days.
The PGCE and PGME at the doses of 400mg/kg, found to be more effective in decreasing the urolithiasis and regeneration of renal tissues in male rats.

The High Acceptence DiElectron Spectrometer has experienced many years of successful operation which revealed high capability of measuring resonance production in proton-proton and pion-proton ...reactions. Since many of the production channels that are crucial for the understanding of the resonance production are highly anisotropic, that a large part of the signal would be located in the most forward and backward phase space regions, a new opportunity to an upgrade to the detector for improving the phase-space acceptance in this region has been proposed. The Forward Tracker (FT) will cover the polar angle in the detector system between 0°and 6.5°, which significantly will increase the detection acceptance. The FT is in construction with the synergy with PANDA Central Tracker, and is realized by groups from Jagellionian University, FZ Jülich and LIP Coimbra. The development of the new and faster readout electronics (DAQ) to cope with higher data rates, track reconstruction and the results from the beam time at Forschungszentrum Jülich are discussed.
This review delves into using e-learning technology and personalized recommendation systems in education. It examines 60 articles from prominent databases and identifies the different methods used in ...recommendation systems, such as collaborative and content-based approaches with a recent shift towards machine learning. However, the current personalized recommendation system faces challenges such as a lack of understanding of the content, student discontinuity, language barriers, confusion in selecting study materials, and inadequate infrastructure and funding. The review proposes using new digital technologies to address these issues, including Fluxy AI, Twin technology, AI-powered virtual proctoring, and Alter Ego. These technologies can create a dynamic and interactive learning environment, providing tailored learning experiences for students and insights for educators to provide targeted support and guidance. The integration of these technologies can improve individualized learning, increase understanding capacity and enhance the learning experience for students with speech disorders.
Autism, also known as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Asperger’s syndrome, has an impact on cognition, social relationships, and behavior. Based on these characteristics and their learning ...interests, e-learning (Electronic Learning) recommendation systems attempt to provide personalized recommendations. This may enhance the learning ability of individuals with ASD. However, some technological challenges limit the ability of the population to use support scenarios and prevent efficient learning. This study tries to review e-learning recommender systems for individuals with ASD. The main identified aspects are 1) lack of design principles while building customized e-learning platforms for those with ASD; 2) technological limitations to developing recommender systems for e-learning, and 3) suggestions that reduce field limitations. The studies additionally discovered that social communication and psychological abilities had the greatest focus of study. A small number of studies mentioned the participant’s ASD level, the majority of the articles highlighted the beneficial effects of designing a content-based recommender system specifically for those with ASD.
Large-scale physics experiments running at high interaction rates place a high demand on the data acquisition system (DAQ) responsible for transporting the data from the detector to the storage. The ...antiProton ANihilation at DArmstadt (PANDA) at the facility for anti-proton and ion research (FAIR) is one such experiment of the future that will not use fixed hardware triggers; instead, the event selection is based on real-time feature extraction, filtering, and high-level correlations. A firmware framework for such real-time data processing has been developed and tested with hardware setup for a PANDA Forward Tracker (FT) prototype. The solution is applicable for other detector subsystems based on the so-called Trigger Readout Board (TRB) data read-out system.
This study was performed to determine quality changes of battered and breaded pre-fried snack product developed from large sized (5.5–10.5 kg) Catla (
Catla catla
) fish stored at chilled temperature ...(− 2 to − 4 °C). Quality changes were assessed based on biochemical, microbiological and sensory quality evaluation at 2 days interval for a period of 18 days. Results of biochemical analysis showed increase in total volatile base-nitrogen (TVB-N) values from initial value of 4.15–13.74 mg/100 g, free fatty acid (FFA) increased from 0.95 to 2.98% in terms of oleic acid, peroxide value (PV) increased from 2.6 to 3.9 meq of O

/kg of fat and pH increased from 6.5 to 6.79 during 18 days chilled storage. Linearity (r

) of TVB-N, FFA, PV and pH values during storage were found to be 0.98, 0.99, 0.97 and 0.99 respectively. In microbiological quality evaluation total plate count (Log. Values) increased from 2.17 to 4.65, while
Escherichia coli

Salmonella
and spore count were not detected during storage period. Results of sensory analysis reported a negative correlation with storage period concluding the shelf life of battered and breaded fish cutlet from Catla fish to be 12 days at chilled storage conditions.
