Se caracterizaron el medio físico del ambiente, la fisiografía, el sistema geomorfológico de la región, las características hidrológicas y el origen de la cubeta lagunar. La geología superficial está ...definida por diez unidades estratigráficas (siete litoestratigráficas y tres pedoestratigráficas). La más antigua es la Formación Ensenada del Pleistoceno medio, que constituye el sustrato regional, donde se excavó la cubeta lagunar. Encima se dispone la Formación Buenos Aires del Pleistoceno tardío, en cuya parte cuspidal se sitúa un Geosuelo Sin Nombre. Las siguientes cuatro unidades corresponden a depósitos eólicos de dunas de arcilla y loéssicos de la Formación La Postrera I, II, III y IV, de edades dispares, que abarcan desde el Pleistoceno tardío al Holoceno tardío-tardío. La Formación La Postrera II y III poseen los Geosuelos Puesto Callejón Viejo y Puesto Berrondo respectivamente. En las playas afloran depósitos aluviales, que incrementan su espesor en el lecho lagunar. En los sedimentos colmatantes se reconocieron seis depósitos, cinco representan a ambientes acuáticos: Formación Luján, Miembros La Chumbiada, Lobos y Río Salado, del Pleistoceno tardío al Holoceno temprano a medio; formación subaluvial del Holoceno tardío y la actual formación aluvial. El sexto es un depósito eólico de duna de arcilla intracuencal del Pleistoceno tardío. El conjunto de los depósitos suprayacentes a la Formación Ensenada supera los 64 ka, representados por cinco episodios de clima seco que abarcan desde el loess Bonaerense hasta la pequeña edad de hielo (IS4, IS2, D3-L3, D2-L2, D1-L1) y cinco húmedos (IS3, S3, IS1, S1 y el actual).
Human rhinoviruses (HRV) are the leading cause of upper respiratory infections and have been postulated to trigger asthma exacerbations. However, whether HRV are detected during crises because upper ...respiratory infections often accompany asthma attacks, or because they specifically elicit exacerbations, is unclear. Moreover, although several hypotheses have been advanced to explain virus-induced exacerbations, their mechanism remains unclear.
To determine the role of HRV in pediatric asthma exacerbations and the mechanisms mediating wheezing.
We prospectively studied 409 children with asthma presenting with upper respiratory infection in the presence or absence of wheezing. Candidate viral and immune mediators of illness were compared among children with asthma with different degrees of severity of acute asthma.
HRV infections specifically associated with asthma exacerbations, even after adjusting for relevant demographic and clinical variables defined a priori (odds ratio, 1.90; 95% confidence interval, 1.21-2.99; P = 0.005). No difference in virus titers, HRV species, and inflammatory or allergic molecules was observed between wheezing and nonwheezing children infected with HRV. Type III IFN-λ(1) levels were higher in wheezing children infected with HRV compared with nonwheezing (P < 0.001) and increased with worsening symptoms (P < 0.001). Moreover, after adjusting for IFN-λ(1), children with asthma infected with HRV were no longer more likely to wheeze than those who were HRV-negative (odds ratio, 1.18; 95% confidence interval, 0.57-2.46; P = 0.66).
Our findings suggest that HRV infections in children with asthma are specifically associated with acute wheezing, and that type III IFN-λ(1) responses mediate exacerbations caused by HRV. Modulation of IFN- λ(1) should be studied as a therapeutic target for exacerbations caused by HRV.
Sistem Informasi Akademik (SIAKAD) merupakan penerapan dukungan teknologi informasi pada institusi perguruan tinggi yang berisi seluruh informasi pengelolaan data pengguna dengan bagian akademik. ...Lembaga XYZ terus melakukan upaya optimalisasi sumber daya untuk mendukung kelancaran kegiatan akademik melalui penggunaan SIAKAD. Namun dalam proses penggunaannya, masih adanya permasalahan mengenai sistem yang sudah dikembangkan berbasis web kadang kala mengalami gangguan sehingga adanya keterlambatan mahasiswa dalam pengisian KRS secara online disamping permasalahan lainnnya. Mengatasi hal tersebut perlu dilakukan evaluasi tata kelola IT untuk mengetahui level kapabilitas yang dilihat dari proses evaluasi, arahan, dan monitor khusus pada domain EDM4 yaitu optimalisasi sumber daya dengan Cobit 5. Hasil menunjukan bahwa sumber daya pada Lembaga XYZ dalam pengelolaan SIAKAD berada pada level kapabilitas 4, sehingga kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah proses pengelolaan IT berada pada level predictable yaitu berjalan dengan sangat baik, sesuai dengan kinerja yang diharapkan.
NGC 4382 is a merger-remnant galaxy that has been classified as morphological type E2, S0, and even Sa. In this work, we performed a photometric and spectroscopic analysis of the globular cluster ...(GC) system of this peculiar galaxy in order to provide additional information about its history. We used a combination of photometric data in different filters, and multi-object and long-slit spectroscopic data obtained using the Gemini/GMOS instrument. The photometric analysis of the GC system, using the Gaussian Mixture Model algorithm in the colour plane, reveals a complex colour distribution within \(R_\mathrm{gal}<5\) arcmin (26.1 kpc), showing four different groups: the typical blue and red subpopulations, a group with intermediate colours, and the fourth group towards even redder colours. From the spectroscopic analysis of 47 GCs, confirmed members of NGC\,4382 based on radial velocities, we verified 3 of the 4 photometric groups from the analysis of their stellar populations using the ULySS code. NGC 4382 presents the classic blue (\(10.4\pm2.8\) Gyr, \(\mathrm{Fe/H}=-1.48\pm0.18\) dex) and red (\(12.1\pm2.3\) Gyr, \(\mathrm{Fe/H}=-0.64\pm0.26\) dex) GCs formed earlier in the lifetime of the galaxy, and a third group of young GCs (\(2.2\pm0.9\) Gyr; \(\mathrm{Fe/H}=-0.05\pm0.28\) dex). Finally, analysis of long-slit data of the galaxy reveals a luminosity-weighted mean age for the stellar population of \(\sim\)2.7 Gyr, and an increasing metallicity from Fe/H=\(-0.1\) to \(+0.2\) dex in \(R_\mathrm{gal}<10\) arcsec (0.87 kpc). These values, and other morphological signatures in the galaxy, are in good agreement with the younger group of GCs, indicating a common origin as a result of a recent merger.
