The purposes of this study were to develop a Japanese version of the MÜller Anger Coping Questionnaire (MAQ), and to examine its validity and reliability. Participants, 1262 undergraduate students ...(617 male, 645 female), were asked to complete the translated questionnaires. Factor analysis revealed four components of anger coping: Aggressivitat, Kontrollierter Affekt, Schuld, and Soziale Hemmung. Evidence for factorial validity, criterion-related validity, and external validity for three of the sub-scales was also obtained. Scale reliability was measured using Cronbach's α, and test-retest reliability was confirmed in a 16-week time frame. Results of these analyses offered evidence as to the reliability of the sub-scales. Further research concerning the relationship between AHA (Anger, Hostility, and Aggression) and health is suggested.
In our screening program for phospholipase C (PLC) inhibitors from microbial origin, we isolated a novel PLC inhibitor, Ro 09-1450 from the culture broth of Penicillium vinaceum Gilman & Abbott ...NR6815. Ro 09-1450 was purified by EtOAc extraction, precipitation and recrystallization from EtOAc. The molecular formula of Ro 09-1450 was determined to be C_ H_ O_ by elemental analysis, NMR and mass spectrometry. The structure of Ro 09-1450 was determined to be 1 by 2D-NMR spectroscopy (INADEQUATE, HMBC and COLOC) and chemical derivatization. Ro 09-1450 showed selective inhibitory activity against PLCs from rat brain, murine colon 26 adenocarcinoma and murine fibroblastsNTH3T3 with IC_ 's of 5.4μM, 9.3μM and 44μM respectively.
Forest dynamics and regeneration were monitored for three beech stands with different forest structure in the core area of World Natural Heritage at Shirakami Mountains. The parameters showing forest ...structure (tree density, basal area, diameter distributions etc.), dynamic parameters (recruitment and mortality of trees) and those relating regeneration (seed production, seedling emergence etc.) were different among stands, suggesting their different histories of establishment. The relationships between stands along forest development process were estimated with the dynamic parameters obtained. The necessary accuracy and resolution for the monitoring are also discussed with the basis of experiencing the observation.

Optogenetics is a recent breakthrough in neuroscience, and one of the most promising applications is the treatment of retinal degenerative diseases. Multiple clinical trials are currently ongoing, ...less than a decade after the first attempt at visual restoration using optogenetics. Optogenetic therapy has great value in providing hope for visual restoration in late-stage retinal degeneration, regardless of the genotype. This alternative gene therapy consists of multiple elements including the choice of target retinal cells, optogenetic tools, and gene delivery systems. Currently, there are various options for each element, all of which have been developed as a product of technological success. In particular, the performance of optogenetic tools in terms of light and wavelength sensitivity have been improved by engineering microbial opsins and applying human opsins. To provide better post-treatment vision, the optimal choice of optogenetic tools and effective gene delivery to retinal cells is necessary. In this review, we provide an overview of the advancements in optogenetic therapy for visual restoration, focusing on available options for optogenetic tools and gene delivery methods.
Whole-body magnetic resonance imaging (WB-MRI) is currently used worldwide for detecting bone metastases from prostate cancer. The 5-year survival rate for prostate cancer is > 95%. However, an ...increase in survival time may increase the incidence of bone metastasis. Therefore, detecting bone metastases is of great clinical interest. Bone metastases are commonly located in the spine, pelvis, shoulder, and distal femur. Bone metastases from prostate cancer are well-known representatives of osteoblastic metastases. However, other types of bone metastases, such as mixed or inter-trabecular type, have also been detected using MRI. MRI does not involve radiation exposure and has good sensitivity and specificity for detecting bone metastases. WB-MRI has undergone gradual developments since the last century, and in 2004, Takahara et al., developed diffusion-weighted Imaging (DWI) with background body signal suppression (DWIBS). Since then, WB-MRI, including DWI, has continued to play an important role in detecting bone metastases and monitoring therapeutic effects. An imaging protocol that allows complete examination within approximately 30 min has been established. This review focuses on WB-MRI standardization and the automatic calculation of tumor total diffusion volume (tDV) and mean apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value. In the future, artificial intelligence (AI) will enable shorter imaging times and easier automatic segmentation.
