The results on W and Z boson properties by both ATLAS and CMS (except mass) are presented in this document. The inclusive W and Z boson cross section production, the W charge asymmetry, the ...differential production as a function of the boson rapidity and transverse momentum, the W polarization and the sinus of the weak angle are shown in this document. The studies included are based on LHC collisions at √s = 7 TeV, recorded during 2010 and 2011.

Abstract: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) has an undeniable impact on the quality of life of patients with this disease and is a potential risk factor that can aggravate health conditions, but in Spain, only 25% of patients receive treatment.Health costs of untreated patients increase by 50%-100% and the average saving per treated patient is €777.In this document, a group of SEPAR experts has revised the previous version on the basis of new scientific evidence and updated general aspects of OSA, including diagnosis and treatment modalities. It focuses on CPAP treatment, new indications, clinical monitoring and control, and the role of service provider companies. Compliance, stratification of patients, the responsibilities of Sleep Units, care pathways, and information channels are emphasized. Technical and quality factors are analyzed, focusing on the different roles, in order to achieve a sustainable management system.New indications for CPAP have been incorporated, in line with the new International Consensus for OSA, and more details have been provided on logistical considerations. An executive summary has been elaborated to be used by the regulatory authorities in requests for tender for Home Respiratory Therapies, and do's and don’ts in the diagnosis and treatment of OSA are estabished.

Home mechanical ventilation (VMD) presents a clear objective; the treatment of chronic respiratory failure in patients with chronic ventilatory failure, impacting this treatment not only on quality of life but also on patient survival. The idea that give impulse the empowerment of MV at home was, the possibility that patients leave the hospital, maintaining the quality of life in their own homes.
The transition from hospital to home is a complex act that depends on many medical and non-medical factors and must be addressed by a multidisciplinary team of health professionals. Effective adaptation and close monitoring are crucial to the success of the program.
The management of the entire process as a whole must be based on protocols or clinical guidelines that guarantee the application of the best scientific evidence available, and also, build a scientific-technical «umbrella» that not only serves professionals in their daily, but also to public administrations, and even companies in the health area, to guide home therapy companies, in this complex world of public-private health.

Growth factors are key elements in the process of neural cell differentiation. We examined the effects of classical mitogens on neural precursor cells, by culturing mouse cells of the embryonic (13.5 ...days postcoitum) mesencephalon and treating them with epidermal growth factor (EGF), transforming growth factor-alpha (TGF-alpha), basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), nerve growth factor (NGF), and transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta). Our initial results show that EGF, TGF-alpha, or bFGF, but not NGF or TGF-beta, induced general proliferation of the cultured cells, followed by formation of colonies. Combinations of these three growth factors suggest that most cells with the capacity to form colonies responded to EGF, TGF-alpha, or bFGF. The number of colonies increased significantly when EGF, but not TGF-alpha, was used in combination with bFGF. Furthermore, a population responding only to EGF + bFGF was detected in the dorsal mesencephalon. The colony-forming activity of bFGF was dependent on insulin, but bFGF and insulin cooperation was indirect since we could not observe colony formation in subcultures of cells derived from colonies, even in the presence of insulin. Cells obtained from our colonies displayed neuronal and glial morphology and expressed markers of both neurons and astrocytes; nestin, a marker of neural precursor cells, was also expressed in the majority of colonies. Growth factors also influenced neuronal maturation; the best neurite outgrowth was obtained from cells derived from bFGF-induced colonies cultured in the presence of EGF + bFGF. These data indicate the existence of neural precursor cells in the embryonic mesencephalon that respond differentially to growth factors.
