Protecting our environment is not a choice, but a responsibility we owe to future generations. Numerous studies examined the factors affecting the environmental deterioration but this research takes ...a step further by employing a spatial dependence model to evaluate spatial impact of ecological footprint and its contributing factors, particularly productive capacities which is hardly investigated in economic literature of BRI economies. For the purpose, the annual data of 54 BRI countries is analyzed for the time period from 2000 to 2018 by employing various econometric techniques. The outcomes of the Durbin model express that neighboring economies significantly affect the ecological footprint of an economy, highlighting the need for a regional policy framework to address environmental issues. It is also found that improving the productive capacities, green investment and democratic quality decrease the ecological footprint while per capita GDP, globalization, and development of financial sector increase the environmental deterioration. The significant interdependence of the countries within the region, a regional policy and vision must be implemented to safeguard the environment. The research findings can facilitate policy formulation aimed at promoting environmental sustainability, with particular focus on enhancing productive capacities and green investments.
In this study six unsymmetrical thiourea derivatives, 1-isobutyl-3-cyclohexylthiourea (1), 1-tert-butyl-3-cyclohexylthiourea (2), 1-(3-chlorophenyl)-3-cyclohexylthiourea (3), ...1-(1,1-dibutyl)-3-phenylthiourea (4), 1-(2-chlorophenyl)-3-phenylthiourea (5) and 1-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-phenylthiourea (6) were obtained in the laboratory under aerobic conditions. Compounds 3 and 4 are crystalline and their structure was determined for their single crystal. Compounds 3 is monoclinic system with space group P21/n while compound 4 is trigonal, space group R3:H. Compounds (1–6) were tested for their anti-cholinesterase activity against acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase (hereafter abbreviated as, AChE and BChE, respectively). Potentials (all compounds) as sensing probes for determination of deadly toxic metal (mercury) using spectrofluorimetric technique were also investigated. Compound 3 exhibited better enzyme inhibition IC50 values of 50, and 60 µg/mL against AChE and BChE with docking score of −10.01, and −8.04 kJ/mol, respectively. The compound also showed moderate sensitivity during fluorescence studies.

K14-HPV8-CER transgenic mice express the complete early genome region of human papillomavirus type 8 (HPV8) and develop skin tumours attributed to the expansion of the Lrig1+ stem cell population. ...The correlation between HPV8-induced changes in transcriptional output in the stem cell compartment remains poorly understood. To further understand the oncogenic pathways underlying skin tumour formation we examined the gene expression network in skin tumours of K14-HPV8-CER mice and compared the differentially expressed genes (DEG) with those of the Lrig1-EGFP-ires-CreERT2 mice. Here, we report 397 DEGs in skin tumours of K14-HPV8-CER mice, of which 181 genes were up- and 216 were down-regulated. Gene ontology and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses suggest that the 397 DEGs are acting in signalling pathways known to be involved in skin homeostasis. Interestingly, we found that HPV8 early gene expression subverts the expression pattern of 23 cellular genes known to be expressed in Lrig1+ keratinocytes. Furthermore, we identified putative upstream regulating transcription factors as well as miRNAs in the control of these genes. These data provide strong evidence that HPV8 mediated transcriptional changes may contribute to skin tumorigenesis, offering new insights into the mechanism of HPV8 driven oncogenesis.

Objective: The present study describes crystal structure determination and cholinesterase inhibitory potential of isotalatazidine hydrate isolated from the aerial part of Delphinium denudatum.
Materials and methods: Phytochemical investigation of Delphinium denudatum resulted in the isolation of isotalatazidine hydrate in crystalline form. The molecular structure of the isolated compound was established by X-ray diffraction. The structural data (bond length and angles) of the compound were calculated by Density Functional Theory (DFT) using B3LYP/6-31 + G (p) basis set. The cholinesterase inhibitory potential of the isolated natural product was determined at various concentrations (62.5, 125, 250, 500 and 1000 μg/mL) followed by molecular docking to investigate the possible inhibitory mechanism of isotalatazidine hydrate.

Discussion and conclusion: These results suggest that isotalatazidine hydrate is a potent dual cholinesterase inhibitor and can be used as a target drug in Alzheimer diseases. This is first report indicating isotalatazidine hydrate with anticholinesterase potential.
Human papillomavirus type 8 (HPV8) is associated with the development of non-melanoma skin cancer. In the past we already delved into the mechanisms involved in keratinocyte invasion, showing that ...the viral E7 oncoprotein is a key player that drives invasion of basal keratinocytes controlled by the extracellular protein fibronectin. To unravel further downstream effects in E7 expressing keratinocytes we now aimed at characterizing gene and protein/phosphoprotein alterations to narrow down on key cellular targets of HPV8-E7. We now show that gene expression of GADD34 and GDF15 are strongly activated in the presence of E7 in primary human keratinocytes. Further analyses of fibronectin-associated factors led to the identification of the Src kinase family members Fyn and Lyn being aberrantly activated in the presence of HPV8-E7. Phospho-proteomics further revealed that E7 not only targets cell polarity and cytoskeletal organization, but also deregulates the phosphorylation status of nuclear proteins involved in DNA damage repair and replication. Many of these differentially phosphorylated proteins turned out to be targets of Fyn and Lyn. Taken together, by using unbiased experimental approaches we have now arrived at a deeper understanding on how fibronectin may affect the signaling cascades in HPV8 positive keratinocytes, which may be key for skin tumorigenesis and that may also aid in the development of novel therapeutic approaches for betaHPV-mediated cancers.
The reaction of 1,3-Diisobutyl thiourea (Tu) with metal salts, {CuX (X = Cl, I), ZnCl2 and HgI2 in an appropriate stoichiometric ratio afforded the corresponding metal complexes Tu2CuCl (1), Tu3CuI ...(2), Tu2ZnCl2 (3) and Tu2HgI2 (4) in good yields. The FT-IR data show typically broad signals (3278–3288 cm−1) attributed to the involvement of NH bonds in extensive hydrogen bonding. The structures of complexes were proposed based on a spectroscopic data set. Compounds 1 and 2 were additionally characterized by single-crystal X-ray analysis. Complexes 1–4 were tested for their free radical scavenging efficiency using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl free radical (hereafter abbreviated as DPPH). The free radical scavenging activity was a function of decrease in the resultant absorption of DPPH solution after the mixing of an appropriate concentration of the respective complex. The activity of complexes was determined to be dose dependent and increased concentration of the complex resulted in improved antioxidant activity. Compound 1 was found to be the most efficient, with 79.9% free radical scavenging activity. Complexes were also tested for their efficiency against selected strains of bacteria (E. coli, S. flexneri, S. typhi, and P. aeruginosa) and the activities were compared to commercially available standard drug cephradine. Compound 1 was more active against P.aeruginosa (ZI 13.25), while compound 4 was found to be more active against E. coli (ZI 11.0), S. flexneri (ZI 11.2), and S. typhi (ZI 10.5).
Reaction of the 1,3-diisobutyl thiourea (L) with MX M = Cu, Ag and X = Cl, NO3 provide polynuclear heteroleptic complexes Cu3L3Cl3 (1), Ag2L6(NO3)2 (2) and Ag6L8Cl4 (3). All complexes were ...characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The solid-state crystal of these complexes (1–3) were determined by single crystal XRD. Which shows that complex (1) is tri-nuclear with trigonal planer arrangement, complex (2) is binuclear with four membered metalacyclic ring and complex (3) is hexa-nuclear. Complexes (1–3) are tested for their free radical scavenging activity by using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl free radical (DPPH) showing moderate potential.

This study aimed at developing a fast and low-cost detection method to discriminate between ice cream samples containing pork or non-pork gelatin by using Fourier Transform Near Infrared (FT-NIR) spectroscopy and Partial Least Squares Discriminant Analysis (PLS-DA). Forty two samples of ice cream were used, among which twenty three samples were adulterated with different levels i.e. 1%, 5%, 10%, and 20 % of pork gelatin (Non-Halal). Whereas, the remaining nineteen samples containing only cow gelatin (Halal) were used as a control. All the ice cream samples were measured with the FT-NIR spectrophotometer in the reflection mode. Spectra were collected in the wavenumber range from 10000 to 4000 cm−1 (1000 to 2500 nm). The results show that the PLS-DA model with Unit Vector Normalization (UVN) spectral transformations for 1% pork gelatin adulteration is the optimal one which was based on a compromise between the lowest value of root mean square error of cross validation (RMSECV) for the calibration set. The lowest value of root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP) for the test set, the least number of factors and the percentage of correctly classified samples, the Halal and Non-Halal, for both calibration and test sets. This newly developed method is fast, involves simple sample preparation and is low cost.

We explain the steady-state entanglement of a quantum degenerate Fermi gas with a light field inside a Fabry-Perot cavity. The logarithmic negativity, from the covariance matrix formalism in a ...unified framework, shows that the bi-stability parameter and the effective detuning depend explicitly on the behavior of the entanglement. Numerical experiments reveal the sensitivity of the entanglement to experimentally controlled parameters such as, the mass of the atoms, the pump rate of the cavity, the effective detuning, and the bi-stability parameters.
