Why do fashion brands enter the metaverse when the benefits of using this virtual reality space are not yet clear to the industry? What motivates them to venture into the complex world of digital ...platforms and ecosystems? Do luxury and fast fashion companies share the same motivations for entering the metaverse? These research questions guide the study which seeks to understand the motivational factors driving fashion brands to establish a presence in the metaverse. To achieve our research objective, we employ qualitative research methods and follow a grounded theory approach. Through a content analysis of publicly available website publications containing insights from fashion industry leaders, we identify commonalities and distinctions in the motivational factors leading luxury and fast fashion brands into the metaverse. The study contributes to the theoretical comprehension of the metaverse as a new strategic platform for the fashion industry and highlights practical implications intended to assist industry managers contemplating entry into this virtual reality space.
Purpose
This study seeks to explore the importance of digital platforms in restoring global supply chains interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic. Specifically, the research focuses on internally ...developed digital platforms and their potential to ensure supply chain continuity between developed and emerging markets.
Design/methodology/approach
Multiple comparative case studies have been selected for the research methodology. Eight cases concerning digital platform implementation for global SC management – four from developed countries and four from emerging markets – have been selected. The four pairs of cases represent four global supply chain mechanisms.
Findings
The results revealed that the use of internally developed digital platforms serves as a quick solution for immediate problems caused by ripple effects in global supply chain and negative environmental conditions. Digital platforms could therefore facilitate reciprocal monitoring and information exchanges between SC partners in different countries.
Originality/value
The digital platform research stream is in its early stages. Research thus far has mostly focused on externally developed digital platforms managed by an orchestrator. The platforms' usefulness in the dialogue between developed and emerging markets requires further exploration.
Purpose:

It also aims to verify the way subjective knowledge ...about healthy eating moderates the attitude-intentions, subjective norms-intentions, and perceived behavioral control-intentions relationships.
Methodology:
The study employs a survey research design in which data is collected via self-administered structured questionnaires. The sample size was 404 female adolescences of 15-19 years. SPSS version 21, SMART PLS version 3, and AMOS version 20 were used to analyze the reliability, validity, measurement, and structural models.
Findings:
Family environment, as well as Parental norms and conformity towards those, are stronger to shape positive intentions towards, HE than other societal members’ norms. Perceived behavioral control of HE is not a significant antecedent of HE intentions which might be due to the contingency effect of subjective knowledge. Subjective knowledge about HE moderating the attitude-intentions, subjective norms-intentions, and perceived behavioral control-intentions relationships as proposed.
Conclusion:
This is the novelty of the present work in that it has presented the moderating role of subjective knowledge about HE on the aforementioned relationships of TPB and cultivated significant results out of it. TPB is extended and delivered that overall model contributed 65% of the variance in determining HE intentions by attitude, subjective norms, and behavioral control.

Suppressor of gamma response 1 (SOG1) is a member of the NAC domain family transcription factors of the DNA damage response (DDR) signaling in the plant's genome. SOG1 is directly involved in ...transcriptional response to DNA damage, cell cycle checkpoints and ATR or ATM-mediated activation of the DNA damage responses and repair functioning in programmed cell death and regulation of end reduplication. Different mutations in the SOG1 protein lead to severe diseases and, ultimately, cell death. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are an important type of genetic alteration that cause different diseases or programmed cell death. The current study applied different computational approaches to Arabidopsis thaliana L. SOG1 protein to identify the potential deleterious nsSNPs and monitor their impact on the structure, function and protein stability. Various bioinformatics tools were applied to analyze the retrieved 34 nsSNPs and interestingly extracted four deleterious nsSNPs, that is, ensvath13968004 (Q166L), tmp18998388 (P159L), ensvath01103049 (K199N) and tmp18998295 (Y190F). For example, homology modeling, conservation and conformational analysis of the mutant's models were considered to scrutinize the deviations of these variants from the native SOG1 structure. All atoms molecular dynamic simulation confirmed the significance of these mutations on the protein stability, residual and structural conformation, compactness, surface conformation, dominant motion, Gibbs free energy distribution and dynamic effects. Similarly, protein-protein interaction revealed that SOG1 operates as a hub-linking cluster of various proteins, and any changes in the SOG1 might result in the disassociation of several signal transduction cascades.

Cerebral malaria is one of the most common causes of non-traumatic encephalopathy. A 25-year-old man who is a known intravenous and oral drug abuser presented to our clinic with fever and sore throat ...for two days prior and an altered level of consciousness for one day. On examination, the patient was icteric, and his Glasgow coma scale score on arrival was 10/15; he had dilated pupils reactive to light and a positive corneal reflex. All cranial nerves were intact; however, signs of meningeal irritation were positive. Motor examination showed an increased tone and rigidity in all limbs, patellar reflex was 3+, plantars were down-going, and clonus was negative. A fundoscopic examination was unremarkable. Additional investigations revealed he was positive for Plasmodium falciparum, HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C. In addition, a test of his cerebrospinal fluid revealed evidence of cerebral malaria. We initiated artemether 120 mg, intravenous ceftriaxone 2 g, and 5% dextrose saline for the intermittent hypoglycemia. The patient's condition eventually improved drastically. This case outlines the possible exacerbating effect of HIV on malaria, and it calls for HIV screening and staging alongside suspected malaria. This case also underlines the need for further evaluation of a potential protective role of hepatitis B and C to find an alternative therapeutic cure for malaria.
