In this article, I examine the documentation of culture (DoC). This is the practice of gathering and producing the information and data relevant to intangible cultural phenomena. DoC is generally ...practiced by teams of documentalists generally outside GLAM institutions (i.e., galleries, libraries, archives and museums). As such, it differs from the preservation and description of concrete objects of cultural heritage done within those institutions. I examine how DoC finds it increasingly difficult to clearly define and communicate its role: a) in relation to LIS; b) to the broader academic community; and c) in digital age of information overload. In this article, I briefly outline the specificity of DoC, its main issues and possible solutions to its current problems.
The aim of the paper is to present and analyze workflows for bibliographical data curation and research that were created during the ‘Open Bibliodata Workflows’ project realised by the ...Bibliographical Data Working Group from the DARIAH ERIC consortium. These workflows are available via SSH Open Marketplace. Its role in the SSH infrastructural system is subsequently shortly introduced. Bibliodata-related workflows are needed at different levels of data creation and research, both for specific software features or data sources as well as for consolidating methodological aspects of bibliographical data curation. Set of five workflows showcasing various models of bibliodata related workflows is discussed afterwards. First of these workflows, From Library Data to Research Data describes conversion of library data into a dataset for data-based research. The other four are centred around leveraging existing tools and services. AVOBMAT: how to analyze and visualize bibliographical data and texts showcases a tool for combining text analysis and metadata-based research. Metadata crosswalk for citation data production in OpenCitations is a step-by-step instruction for using the OpenCitations infrastructure, a state-of-the-art service for sharing open citation data. LODification of bibliographical data: Zotero to Wikibase migration illustrates current dynamic developments concerning metadata in the field of Linked Open Data. Finally, the National Information Processing Institute from Poland (OPI PIB) prepared a workflow Studies on science and higher education system in Poland using the RAD-on platform, discussing how to use their dataset for research. Analysis of these workflows reveals particular needs to address the multilinguality challenge in the bibliodata field. On the level of curation this challenge is met with application of international standards for bibliographical data processing that on many occasions do not prioritise harmonization of multilingual datasets. The main curatorial techniques on how to solve multilingual issues in bibliographical data are briefly outlined. When we are tackling research questions the multilinguality challenge is even more prominent. Hence we are closing this article with a proposal for a preliminary workflow for processing multilingual bibliodata.
Artykuł identifykuje kategorię „dokumentów systemu literackiego” jako podstawy empirycznych badań literaturoznawczych. Zaprezentowane zostają zarówno literaturoznawcze, jak i dokumentacyjne, ...bibliograficzne i informacyjno-naukowe aspekty identyfikowania, przetwarzania i wykorzystywania dokumentów w tym obszarze badań. Na podstawie literatury przedmiotu wskazane zostają podstawowe typy takich obiektów oraz ich funkcje w obrębie systemu literackiego. Artykuł wskazuje, że rozproszenie procedur opisu takich obiektów ma kluczowe znaczenie dla powodzenia literaturoznawczych badań empirycznych oraz proponuje potraktowanie tego problemu jako wyzwania dostosowania infrastruktur badawczych do potrzeb empirycznych analiz literatury.
This article deals with the issues of introducing web resources into subject literary bibliographies. This issue is at first analyzed on the general level as the methodological challenge of online ...sources systematic introduction into the context of managing current bibliography and then case studies follow targeted on specific problems of internet material bibliography treatment. Firstly one discusses the issues related to bibliographical processing of online documents (web pages, online journals, etc.), which are in complex and variable relations to those available in print. An attention is paid to the methodological issues, in particular providing criteria of web resources selection. The need for archivization of bibliographically processed materials which we assess as the crucial element of any systematic bibliographical processing of Internet materials will be also highlighted. In the following part study presents the preliminarily classification of the new specific genres of internet content: blogs and literary forums. Firstly the Polish literary blogosphere is analysed and preliminarily typology of this document type is introduced. Later a phenomenon of literary forums is taken into consideration. Based on an example of poetry forum Nieszuflada.pl more detailed quantitative analysis of this resource type is given and issues of authorship attribution in the digital environment are discussed.

Gdy owo instrumentalne, ze swej istoty wrogie, przejęcie służy nie, jak chce Nycz, "formowaniu krytycznej samowiedzy oraz wrażliwości i sprawczej kreatywności jednostek i wspólnot", ale czemuś wręcz przeciwnemu, wobec czego tamto zadanie drugi, obok polskiego badacza, najczęściej cytowany w tym tomie autor, Bruno Latour nazwał "rozpaczliwym zadaniem". Jak powiedział 26 lutego 2014 roku w Królewskiej Akademii w Kopenhadze Latour. "To rozpaczliwe zadanie, aby nadal myśleć, kiedy moce inteligencji są poświęcone zamykaniu myśli i maszerowaniu naprzód z oczami szeroko zamkniętymi". Odpowiedzią jest budowanie mostów, przebijanie murów, łączenie się humanistów z nie-humanistami, aby odzyskać utraconą sprawczość. (Prof. Krzysztof Kłosiński)
