Developing low‐cost and high‐activity pH‐universal hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) catalysts is very crucial to the industrialization of water electrolysis. However, the high price, low yield, and ...poor stability of current HER catalysts make them difficult to meet practical requirements. Herein, a plasma spraying technique is employed to prepare self‐supported Cu catalysts with tensile strain for the first time. The tensile strain upshifts the d‐band of Cu, improves the water dissociation and H* adsorption, eventually improves the intrinsic HER catalytic activity. As such, Cu electrode achieves overpotentials of 182 mV in 0.5 m H2SO4, 261 mV in 1 M PBS, and 121 mV in 1 M KOH at 10 mA cm–2. In addition, Cu electrode also performs well at high current densities, the overpotentials at 1 A cm–2 are much lower than those of Pt foil in acid, neutral, and alkaline solutions.
The Cu electrode prepared by plasma spraying exhibits an excellent pH‐universal HER catalytic activity, superb long‐term stability, and marvelous corrosion resistance. The superb HER activity is attributed to self‐supported porous structure, abundant active sites, tensile strain enhanced intrinsic catalytic activity, and small charge transfer resistance.

In next-generation network architecture, the Cybertwin drove the sixth generation of cellular networks sixth-generation (6G) to play an active role in many applications, such as healthcare and ...computer vision. Although the previous sixth-generation (5G) network provides the concept of edge cloud and core cloud, the internal communication mechanism has not been explained with a specific application. This article introduces a possible Cybertwin based multimodal network (beyond 5G) for electrocardiogram (ECG) patterns monitoring during daily activity. This network paradigm consists of a cloud-centric network and several Cybertwin communication ends. The Cybertwin nodes combine support locator/identifier identification, data caching, behavior logger, and communications assistant in the edge cloud. The application focuses on monitoring the ECG patterns during daily activity because few studies analyze them under different motions. We present a novel deep convolutional neural network based human activity recognition classifier to enhance identification accuracy. The healthcare monitoring values and potential clinical medicine are provided by the Cybertwin based network for ECG patterns observing.
Dispersed H3K27 trimethylation (H3K27me3) of the AGAMOUS (AG) genomic locus is mediated by CURLY LEAF (CLF), a component of the Polycomb Repressive Complex (PRC) 2. Previous reports have shown that ...the AG second intron, which confers AG tissue-specific expression, harbors sequences targeted by several positive and negative regulators.
Using RACE reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, we found that the AG intron 2 encodes several noncoding RNAs. RNAi experiment showed that incRNA4 is needed for CLF repressive activity. AG-incRNA4 RNAi lines showed increased leaf AG mRNA levels associated with a decrease of H3K27me3 levels; these plants displayed AG overexpression phenotypes.
Genetic and biochemical analyses demonstrated that the AG-incRNA4 can associate with CLF to repress AG expression in leaf tissues through H3K27me3-mediated repression and to autoregulate its own expression level.
The mechanism of AG-incRNA4-mediated repression may be relevant to investigations on tissue-specific expression of Arabidopsis MADS-box genes.
Abstract
Background
The emergence of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a major healthcare threat. The current method of detection involves a quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR)–based ...technique, which identifies the viral nucleic acids when present in sufficient quantity. False-negative results can be achieved and failure to quarantine the infected patient would be a major setback in containing the viral transmission. We aim to describe the time kinetics of various antibodies produced against the 2019 novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and evaluate the potential of antibody testing to diagnose COVID-19.
Methods
The host humoral response against SARS-CoV-2, including IgA, IgM, and IgG response, was examined by using an ELISA-based assay on the recombinant viral nucleocapsid protein. 208 plasma samples were collected from 82 confirmed and 58 probable cases (qPCR negative but with typical manifestation). The diagnostic value of IgM was evaluated in this cohort.
Results
The median duration of IgM and IgA antibody detection was 5 (IQR, 3–6) days, while IgG was detected 14 (IQR, 10–18) days after symptom onset, with a positive rate of 85.4%, 92.7%, and 77.9%, respectively. In confirmed and probable cases, the positive rates of IgM antibodies were 75.6% and 93.1%, respectively. The detection efficiency by IgM ELISA is higher than that of qPCR after 5.5 days of symptom onset. The positive detection rate is significantly increased (98.6%) when combining IgM ELISA assay with PCR for each patient compared with a single qPCR test (51.9%).
Conclusions
The humoral response to SARS-CoV-2 can aid in the diagnosis of COVID-19, including subclinical cases.
The time kinetics of humoral responses against the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) are characterized in patients with COVID-19 by nucleocapsid-based enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The antibody testing can aid in the diagnosis of COVID-19 when combined with quantitative polymerase chain reaction, including in subclinical cases.
Summary
miR156 is an evolutionarily highly conserved miRNA in plants that defines an age‐dependent flowering pathway. The investigations thus far have largely, if not exclusively, confined to plant ...aerial organs. Root branching architecture is a major determinant of water and nutrients uptake for plants. We show here that MIR156 genes are differentially expressed in specific cells/tissues of lateral roots. Plants overexpressing miR156 produce more lateral roots whereas reducing miR156 levels leads to fewer lateral roots. We demonstrate that at least one representative from the three groups of miR156 targets SQUAMOSA PROMOTER BINDING PROTEIN‐LIKE (SPL) genes: SPL3, SPL9 and SPL10 are involved in the repression of lateral root growth, with SPL10 playing a dominant role. In addition, both MIR156 and SPLs are responsive to auxin signaling suggesting that miR156/SPL modules might be involved in the proper timing of the lateral root developmental progression. Collectively, these results unravel a role for miR156/SPLs modules in lateral root development in Arabidopsis.
Significance Statement
Previous to our work, miR156/SPL modules have been characterized only with respect to their function in leaf development and plant phase transition. Our work which shows that these modules are involved in lateral root growth as well will stimulate others to investigate putative functions of these modules in other root‐related developmental events.

Here, we explore the origins of catalytic selectivity of Fe-Mn spinel oxide and identify electron delocalization of the surface metal active site as the key driver of its nonradical catalysis. Through fine-tuning the crystal geometry to trigger Fe-Mn superexchange interaction at the spinel octahedra, ZnFeMnO
with high-degree electron delocalization of the Mn-O unit was created to enable near 100% nonradical activation of peroxymonosulfate (PMS) at unprecedented utilization efficiency. The resulting surface-bound PMS* complex can efficiently oxidize electron-rich pollutants with extraordinary degradation activity, selectivity, and good environmental robustness to favor water decontamination applications. Our work provides a molecule-level understanding of the catalytic selectivity and bimetallic interactions of Fe-Mn spinel oxides, which may guide the design of low-cost spinel oxides for more selective and efficient decontamination applications.
A photothermal bacterium (PTB) is reported for tumor‐targeted photothermal therapy (PTT) by using facultative anaerobic bacterium Shewanella oneidensis MR‐1 (S. oneidensis MR‐1) to biomineralize ...palladium nanoparticles (Pd NPs) on its surface without affecting bacterial activity. It is found that PTB possesses superior photothermal property in near infrared (NIR) regions, as well as preferential tumor‐targeting capacity. Zeolitic imidazole frameworks‐90 (ZIF‐90) encapsulating photosensitizer methylene blue (MB) are hybridized on the surface of living PTB to further enhance PTT efficacy. MB‐encapsulated ZIF‐90 (ZIF‐90/MB) can selectively release MB at mitochondria and cause mitochondrial dysfunction by producing singlet oxygen (1O2) under light illumination. Mitochondrial dysfunction further contributes to adenosine triphosphate (ATP) synthesis inhibition and heat shock proteins (HSPs) down‐regulated expression. The PTB‐based therapeutic platform of PTB@ZIF‐90/MB demonstrated here will find great potential to overcome the challenges of tumor targeting and tumor heat tolerance in PTT.
A bacteria‐based photothermal therapeutic platform comprising PTB@ZIF‐90/MB is developed, which reveals great potential to augment photothermal therapy efficacy by tackling the challenges of tumor targeting and heat resistance.
