The UNIMARC Authorities Format was designed in the early 1990s to allow the creation of authority and reference records for the management of controlled access points in a bibliographic database. ...Incorporated in this work is relevant information from other IFLA working groups and from UNIMARC users. It is published under the auspices of the IFLA Cataloguing Section. This is the 3rd, completely updated and enlarged edition.

In this conversation, conducted during the IFLA conference in Wrocław, Poland in August 2017, Sally McCallum retells her beginnings at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. when she worked with ...Henriette Avram and Lucia Rather on the development of the MARC and UNIMARC formats. Other topics include conversion between MARC and UNIMARC, MARC21 and BIBFRAME projects, and her views on: RDA (Resource Description and Access); ISBD (International Standard Bibliographic Description); IFLA LRM (IFLA Library Reference Model); and UBC (Universal Bibliographic Control) in the face of technological changes.
The paper analyzes the new, consolidated edition of ISBD published by IFLA in 2011. It presents the results of the ISBD Review Group's effort to implement the strategic decisions from the goals of ...the second general project to revise the standard. Firstly, it researches the ISBD and FRBR relationship and how the ISBD meets the requirements of the 'basic level national bibliographic record' are described. Then the outcome of the consolidation process of the seven specialized ISBDs and the ISBD(G) is presented from the aspect of multiple content formats and mixed media. It is significant because it has resulted in the new set of data elements: 0 Content Form and Media Type Area. In the second part of the paper, an outline of a possible direction for a future revision of ISBD is given. It describes the interoperability of the ISBD with FRBR in the context of their representation in RDF (Resource Description Framework), the Semantic Web standard, and linked open data. The main objective of a new revision of the ISBD would be to enable the publication of bibliographic data as linked open data. The paper concludes with a brief reference to the discussions held at the IFLA conference in Cape Town, August 2015, which are relevant for the future of ISBD and its revision.
Cilj. Cilj je rada prikazati operativnu ontologiju Pravilnika za opis i pristup građi u knjižnicama, arhivima i muzejima kao komplementarnog standarda imenskog prostora tekstualnom izdanju Pravilnika ...KAM, verzija 1.0 objavljenog 2021. godine.
Metodologija.
Originalnost. Ontologija Pravilnika KAM prva je operativna ontologija u hrvatskom informacijskom prostoru baštinskih zajednica.
This article explores the question "What is an International Standard for Bibliographic Description (ISBD) resource in the context of the Semantic Web, and what is the relationship of its description ...to the linked data?" This question is discussed against the background of the dichotomy between the description and access using the Semantic Web differentiation of the three logical layers: real-world objects, web of data, and special purpose (bibliographic) data. The representation of bibliographic data as linked data is discussed, distinguishing the description of a resource from the iconic/objective and the informational/subjective viewpoints. In the conclusion, the authors give views on possible directions of future development of the ISBD.

The possibilities of integration between ISBD and the semantic web have been examined through the work of the IFLA Study Groups, created with the task to investigate the possibilities for ...representing ISBD in web technologies and services. One of the main study groups is represented by the ISBD/XML Study Group, formed in 2008.The paper describes the activities developing a representation of International Standard Bibliographic Description (ISBD) in Resource Description Framework (RDF): the research, technical, and administrative activities undertaken to make bibliographic metadata authorized by the IFLA standard available to the Semantic Web as trustworthy information. The paper discusses the ongoing representation of elements in RDF in the ISBD namespace, the treatment of aggregated statements composed of multiple elements, and the development of a Dublin Core Application Profile for ISBD. An introduction to recent initiatives within IFLA to develop representation of its models and standards in RDF, as well as an administrative and technical infrastructure to support such initiatives will be given as a background to the work on ISBD.Some European libraries such as the British Library and the Mannheim University Library, are experimenting means to transform their catalogues into tools interoperating with the web. RDF seems to be the most suitable tool for the universal bibliographic control within the libraries of the future.
The article is an updated and expanded version of a paper presented to International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions in 2013. It describes recent work involving the representation ...of International Standard for Bibliographic Description (ISBD) and UNIMARC (UNIversal MARC) in Resource Description Framework (RDF), the basis of the Semantic Web and linked data. The UNIMARC Bibliographic format is used to illustrate issues arising from the development of a bibliographic element set and its semantic alignment with ISBD. The article discusses the use of such alignments in the automated processing of linked data for interoperability, using examples from ISBD, UNIMARC, and Resource Description and Access.
