A photocatalytic electrochemical DNA genosensor based on polyaniline nanofibers and three-dimensional reduced graphene oxide (3D-rGO) modified glassy carbon electrode has been fabricated. It can ultrasensitively detect non-small cell lung cancer gene CYFRA21-1 through photocatalytic reaction. Ethidium bromide is adopted to embed into double stranded DNA (dsDNA) for generating singlet oxygen under green LED irradiation, thereby efficiently cleaving the dsDNA. As a result, the peak currents of Fe(CN)63−/4− increase obviously, due to less blocking of nanocomposites modified electrode and weaker electrostatic repulsion after dsDNA fragmentation. The theoretical LOD is 76.2 aM (3σ) and the peak current is linear with the increasing concentration of complementary DNA target from 0.1 fM to 0.1 µM. This genosensor also possesses good specificity, acceptable stability and reproducibility toward CYFRA21-1, and was successfully applied for the detection of CYFRA21-1 in real serum samples.
To study the relationship between knee osteoarthritis (OA) and intercondylar notch narrowing based on the notch width index.
Magnetic resonance (MR) images were collected from middle-aged and elderly ...patients with a definite diagnosis of knee OA, including 42 with mild OA and 37 with moderate to severe OA, with 70 healthy individuals serving as the control group. The notch width indexes NWI, NWI-A, and NWI-P on the coronal images at different levels were calculated, and the intercondylar notch was classified, according to the features on axial MR images, into types A, U, and W. The association of OA with NWI, NWI-A, NWI-P, and notch type was determined, and the cutoff values were obtained based on the ROC curves at different levels as indicators for diagnosis of intercondylar notch stenosis.
In the control, mild OA, moderate to severe OA groups, the NWI value on coronal MR images were 0.252±0.019, 0.251±0.017, and 0.240±0.020, NWI-A were 0.261±0.024, 0.259±0.023, and 0.245±0.023, and NWI-P were 0.271±0.026, 0
The pedicle screw placement procedure is the most commonly used technique for spinal fixation and can provide reliable three‐column stabilization. Accurate screw placement is necessary in clinical ...practice. To avoid screw malposition, which may decrease the stiffness of the screw‐rod construct or increase the likelihood of neural and vascular injuries, the surgeons must fully understand the regional anatomy. Deformities, such as scoliosis, kyphosis or congenital anomalies, may complicate the application of the pedicle screw placement technique and increase the chance of screw encroachments. Incidences of pedicle screw malposition vary in different districts and hospitals and with surgeons and techniques. Today, the minimally invasive spinal surgery is well developed. However, the narrow corridors and limited views for surgeons increase the difficulty of pedicle screw placement and the possibility of screw encroachment. Evidenced by previous studies, robotic surgery can provide accurate screw placement, especially in settings of spinal deformities, anatomical anomalies, and minimally invasive procedures. Based on the consensus of consultant specialists, the literature review and our local experiences, this guideline introduces the robotic system and describes the workflow of robot‐assisted procedures and the precautions to take during procedures. This guideline aims to outline a standardized method for robotic surgery for thoracolumbar pedicle screw placement.
In this paper, for the solution of the continuous algebraic Riccati equation (CARE), we derived two new upper matrix bounds. Compared with the existing results, the newly obtained bounds are less ...conservative and more practical, which means that the condition for the existence of the upper bounds derived here is much weaker. The advantage of the results is shown by theoretical analysis and numerical examples. Moreover, in redundant optimal control, when we increase the columns of the input matrix, some sufficient conditions are presented to strictly decrease the largest singular value of the feedback matrix by utilizing these upper bounds. We also give some examples to illustrate the effectiveness of these sufficient conditions.
Atlantoaxial transarticular facet screw fixation (Magerl technique) and C1 lateral mass screws combined with C2 pedicle screws fixation (Harms technique) are the most commonly used techniques for ...posterior internal fixation in the upper cervical spine. Upper cervical spinal surgery is a technically demanding and challenging procedure because of complicated anatomical structures and frequent occurrence of anomalies. Accurate insertion of screws allows for stable and secure internal fixation, which is necessary for both techniques. Traditional methods under fluoroscopic assistance in this region cannot meet the requirements of high levels of accuracy and security during the procedure. Robot‐assisted spinal surgery can provide accurate and reliable guidance during the screw insertion, which is evidenced in the literature. As a recently developed technique, robot‐assisted surgery is supposed to be performed by skilled surgeons who have received standard training for robotic surgery. The standardized upper cervical spinal surgery assisted by the robot system needs to be introduced to these surgeons. Based on the consensus of consultant specialists, the literature review, and our local experience, this guideline included the introduction of the robotic system, the workflow of robot‐assisted procedures, and the precautions to take during procedures. This guideline aims to provide a standardization of the robotic surgery for posterior atlantoaxial internal fixation.
We studied gas-exchange, chlorophyll pigments, lipid peroxidation, antioxidant enzymes, and biomass partitioning responses in seedlings of four wolfberry species (Lycium chinense Mill. var. potaninii ...(Pojark.) A. M. Lu, Lycium chinense Mill., Lycium barbarum L., and Lycium yunnanense Kuang & A. M. Lu) under four water supply regimes. In all four species, drought affected seedlings in terms of chlorophyll content, net photosynthesis rate (Pn)' transpiration rate (E), and lipid peroxidation. Drought also increased some antioxidant enzyme activities, such as peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and ascorbate peroxidase (APX). Significant changes in dry biomass partitioning also occurred in response to water stress. In particular, dry biomass of leaves and fruits decreased significantly. L. chinense Mill. and L. barbarum L. possessed greater drought tolerance and exhibited superior antioxidant processing ability and other related physiological traits compared to the other two species. L. chinense Mill. was the most tolerant to all levels of drought. In contrast,L, yunnanense Kuang & A. M. Lu was more affected by water supply and had the lowest resistance to drought stress. These findings would provide some important information regarding genetic resources for future forest tree improvement in relation to drought tolerance.
