The state dependent quenching mechanism of metastable antiprotonic He atoms
by contaminants is suggested to explain existing experimental data. The effect
of antiproton transfer from the antiprotonic ...He to noble gas contaminants is
shown to play a significant role. Preliminary estimations have been done in the
framework of the coupled channels model. The obtained results support the idea
of strong dependence of quenching cross-sections on the antiprotonic states
quantum numbers and enable to explain qualitatively existing discrepancies
between experimental results, obtained for different contaminant densities. New
observable effects are predicted.

The authors refer the results of researches carried out with the aim to value the Duroc breed, used in multi-way crosses, in maternal or paternal line, with the Large White, Landrace and Yorkshire ...breeds. The reliefs concerned the reproductive efficiency of the genetic combinations and the productivity and meat quality of the pigs used in the heavy pig production. In comparison with the Large White x Landrace cross, those including the Duroc breed, apart from the percentage of use, have shown good reproductive performances and can produce similar gain, feed conversion, dressing percentages and meat quality.
ITALIANO: Gli autori riferiscono i risultati ottenuti a seguito di un'indagine condotta con lo scopo di valutare l'influenza esercitata dalla razza Duroc, allorquando viene inserita, in linea materna oppure in linea paterna, in incroci a piu' vie insieme alla razza Large White, Landrace e Yorkshire, sull'efficienza riproduttiva delle combinazioni genotipiche nonche' sulla produzione e sulle caratteristiche quanti-qualitative della carne della prole utilizzata nell'allevamento del suino pesante. Nella comparazione con il tradizionale incrocio Large White x Landrace gli incroci comprendenti la razza Duroc, a prescindere dalla percentuale di sangue di quest'ultima, si sono dimostrati capaci di condizionare favorevolmente il potenziale riproduttivo e di produrre soggetti pressoche' analoghi per quanto attiene la capacita' di accrescimento e conversione alimentare nonche' le rese alla macellazione e la qualita' della carne.
