Also present in the party are Winston Churchill as Secretary of State for War (seen very briefly), Surgeon-Commander Parkes of the Museum, and the Duke of Connaught (?). The pallbearers (not clearly visible) are British gunners. The chief mourners from the Army are, from the front, General Sir Julian Byng, General Sir Henry Horne, Field Marshal Sir Henry Wilson (CIGS), Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig, Field Marshal the Earl of Ypres (John French). The naval mourners can be only occasionally and indistinctly seen. They include Viscount Jellicoe and Admiral Beatty. The Prime Minister, Lloyd George, places his wreath on the Cenotaph after the King. The procession moves off at a slow march. Provider: - Institution: - Data provided by Europeana Collections- The very height of the patriotic film, including authentic footage, about the background and distribution of the Belgian newspaper ...'La Libre Belgique' during WOI and Gabrielle Petit's part in the resistance movement, her heroism and stoicism being strongly emphasized. The narrative on the espionage activities is rather fragmented.

All metadata published by Europeana are available free of restriction under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication.
