Čestice su ključni element kod vizualnih efekata i animacije. Koriste se za simulaciju prirodnih pojava poput vatre, dima, vode, oblaka, lišća koje pada, ali i za apstraktne efekte poput magičnih ...pojava, traga svjetlećih točkica, neobičnih geometrijskih figura itd. Sustav čestica predstavlja upravljački kontejner koji sadrži funkcije koje obavljaju čestice i koje se obavljaju nad njima. Ti sustavi mogu doći u paketu s kompletnim 3d programom, mogu biti kao zaseban program ili kao plug-in. Načini na koji se s njima radi također su različiti, no zasad se najučinkovitijim pokazalo korištenje tzv. čvorova koji se koriste kao objekti spajanja u široj mreži. Novina su također posebni sustavi za renderiranje isključivo čestica. Pošto su čestice zahtjevnije po broju objekata koje koriste, a zahtijevaju veoma malo kod stvari poput svjetlosti, refleksije, broja poligona, mogu se bolje i brže renderirati drugim algoritmima.

This chapter expands the sphere of building information models (BIM), enlarging it outside the space of a particular building model operating within a given application platform. It discusses the ...role of collaboration in the context of BIM for envelope‐dominated projects. The chapter looks at mechanisms for effectively sharing BIM models, derived views, and general project information while allowing various stakeholders to exercise their respective expertise and design freedom. It addresses some of the particulars of importing and exporting building information and model parts to and from members of the project team, all of whom will not necessarily be using the same software platform, nor be BIM‐capable. SketchUp Pro can export models as 3DS files, a popular format native to Autodesk 3ds Max, a highend 3D modeler. Most civil, structural, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers even now still use conventionally drafted CAD files, almost universally prepared with AutoCAD.

There are many ways to get around this ...problem, among them is a render farm. In this study the factors affecting rendering are examined, from hardware and lighting effects to parallelization costs. To analyze this, a render farm with Autodesk’s Back-burner is set up and multiple benchmarking tests are realized. The purpose of this study is to better understand the render farm as a solution to long render times. Balancing their costs with its benefits and creating models to predict the speedup in real world scenarios. How to set up a render farm and what effectiveness we can expect from it at different scale points. How to avoid bottlenecks and other problems and how to get high efficiencies. We found some guidelines on price points for a targeted speedup and when cloud computing options are better suited for a use case. Specifically, small render farms from one to thirty machines are studied, how the length of rendering times affects the speedup and how higher resolutions impact ren-dering times. The concept of using the manager machine as a rendering machine for increased throughput is put to the test. It is found that long jobs achieve higher speedups and that small render farms can use the manager machine to render at the same time without a noticeable impact on the network. The work focused around the parallelization costs and speedups, explaining what factors limit the speedup and discussing ways to minimize this. Exploramos el como usar estas técnicas desde un punto de vista puramente técnico, enumerando sus posibles aplicaciones, que irían desde nuevos catálogos virtuales de producto e infografías en Streaming mediante WebGL, pasando por sustituir los clásicos usos del offline render, o incluso la creación de contenido docente para realización de cursos y masters.- EN n this study, we break trough the possibilities of the new real time rendering techniques. Along these lasts years, the real-time rendering has been gaining weight against the older offline rendering techniques extensively used in product visualization, archviz or even film industry.
