    凝固と線溶にはさまざまな因子が関与し,巧妙にバランスを保っている.これらのバランスが崩れることにより,出血や血栓症といった臨床症状が引き起こされる.従来,凝固と線溶の評価には,個々の凝固因子や線溶因子を個別に測定する方法が行われてきた.しかし,個々の因子の血漿中濃度は,必ずしも臨床的な表現型を十分に反映していない場合があり,さらに線溶機能の低下は各因子の測定では評価は容易ではない.一連の凝固-線溶反応を包括的に評価可能な方法が強く望まれてきた中,近年に凝固-線溶の過程を包括的に評価できるトロンビン・プラスミン生成試験(thrombin/plasmin generation assay: T/P-GA),凝固線溶波形解析clot-fibrinolysis waveform analysis: CFWA)が登場した.本項ではそれぞれの基本的な測定原理と臨床における有用性について述べる.
