Indonesia is known as a multi-religious country in which there are various religions. United in diversity, and harmony in diversity becomes a key word that can no longer be contested. The intolerant ...attitude of any religious group can be a trigger for conflict which endangerthe integrity of the NKRI. This study aims to determine the framing of the Kompas newspaper in discussing and packaging the discourse of religious intolerance and religiosity in Indonesia. This research method uses Robert N. Entman's framing analysis, which focuses the study on the prominence of the framework of thought, perspective, concepts, and claims of media interpretation in interpreting the object of discourse. Research is expected to be able to stimulate the public to be more critical in understanding the various news constructed by journalists. The results showed that Kompas defined the problem of religious intolerance and diversity in Indonesia as a matter of religion, social, political, educational, and nationalism. However, Kompas generally defines it as a matter of understanding religion and weakening the attitude of nationalism. Kompas news considers the source of the cause to be more dominant because of superficial, partial, and little religious understanding. Kompas concludes that intolerance is a serious threat that could endanger the NKRI. The recommendations offered include the government being demanded to be assertive, fast, and not political. Religious leaders are recommended to build dialogical communication in an intense and continuous manner, and educate the public to always raise awareness of deep, moderate, and not extreme religiosity.
The 2019 Asrama Papua conflict in Surabaya initiated many discourses on racial discrimination and police brutality towards Papuan students in Indonesia. The question arises as to how the public ...perceive news framing and its effects on public opinion. This question will be answered by examining reports in the newspapers Kompas (published in Jakarta) and Jubi (Jayapura, Papua) which display quite different thematic and rhetorical structures. As secondary research, this article aims to assess the public opinion on the framing of the incident based on Berger and Luckmann’s Social Construction of Reality. Through qualitative focus group discussion, this study examines people’s perceptions of news media framing and its effect on the shaping of public opinion towards an ethnic minority group. The results show that media framing reinforces a certain idea of public opinion towards minority groups through various factors such as Perspective of Reporting and Depth of Reporting, both of which differ in Kompas and Jubi as a result of differences in their audiences. Differences were also found in such factors as the thematic structure between lens of sympathy and lens of antagonism. Ultimately, this research suggests that the public possess an awareness of news framing, thus giving them the capability to construct their own critical viewpoints towards media and the incident.

The objective of this study is to investigate and provide a comprehensive analysis of the many roles of directed speech acts seen inside the comment section of @Kompas TV on TikTok. The theoretical ...framework employed in this study pertains to the analysis of directive speech acts as proposed by Searle. This study employs a qualitative methodology and employs content analysis techniques to facilitate the identification and categorization of data by the researchers. The information was gathered from a TikTok video posted by @Kompas TV that addressed revisions to the Minister of Education’s college admission exams. Included in this research data is every comment made by a netizen that was found to have an intended use. Data collection methods used in this study include note-taking, listening, and documentation. The study’s findings indicated that 848 comments from netizens contained 61 directive expressions. Out of the total of 61 utterances, the set of five functions attributed to directive speech acts comprises the actions of directing, ordering, requesting, advising, and recommending. The most dominant function of directive speech acts is the act of suggesting through 18 utterances. This is due to the intention of the netizen to prompt the recipient of the comment to follow the recommendation expressed. In contrast, the least expression function is advising, which typically involves four data. This is due to the fact that online users frequently offer advice rather than thoughtful criticism that the recipient may or may not find acceptable.
Indonesia is an archipelago country with more than 70% of its territory consisting of water. Due to these geographical conditions, many Indonesian people rely on water transportation as a means of ...crossing transportation. However, many of the crossings in Indonesia still use a manual control system in determining the direction of the boat. In this study, a prototype control and tracking system designed for a boat engine can be used as an automatic control system (autopilot) in water transportation. This system is created using a waypoint control system that can navigate automatically to a predetermined location. This control system is designed with an electric control system that utilizes a microcontroller, GPS (Global Positioning System) module, and compass module as a navigation control device. From the test results, it can be concluded that the level of accuracy of the GPS coordinates reading is as far as 4.8 meters and based on the test of the waypoint navigation system , the system accuracy level is 10.8 meters.
In August 2015, there are two major Islamic organizations in Indonesia, NU and Muhammadiyah held a consultative forum which is the highest in the conference organization. 33 NU congress held in ...Jombang, East Java began 1 to 5 August 2015. Interestingly, Kompas has a history as the founder of the mass media-founders are Catholic figures. As P. K. Ojong, Oetama, R. G. Doeriat, Frans Xaverius Seda, Polycarp Swantoro, R. Soekarsono, there are also representatives of the Supreme Council of hierarchical elements of the Indonesian Bishops (Mawi), Catholic party Union of Catholic University Students of the Republic of Indonesia (PMKRI). Kompas discourse about NU and Muhammadiyah that are the focus of research. How the two types of the news media is manufactured into a text. Because the media really is in the middle of a social reality that is loaded with a variety of interests, but has been linked with the social reality. As Aart Van Zoest once said, that a text has never been separated from ideology and have the ability to manipulate the reader toward an ideology. In the text of the media, reporters, also the editor, full power over the choice of words to beworn. He may or must select one word in between the rows of words that are quite similar yet different “flavors†of his. This research is a library (library research) with a focus on the study of print media ie newspapers Kompas, while the object to be studied is the preaching of NU and Muhammadiyah 33rd to 47th. In conducting the study, researchers used a discourse analysis approach Norman Fairclough. Fairclough focused discourse on language. Therefore, this analysis will focus on how it is formed and shaped the language of social relationships and social context. From this analysis, there are three points which were highlighted by researchers that democracy, state, and religious. Based on these three points, then the compass  which in this case represented by the reporter had identified himself as part of the Muhammadiyah. In doing news about Muhammadiyah Congress, journalists tend to bring out the themes of good and using the words positive connotation. While in Congress proclaim the Nahdlatul Ulama, there was some news that gave rise to unfavorable theme of the NU and use words negative connotation.
