U sklopu sustavnog istraživanja porodice Orchidaceae na otoku Krku tijekom vegetacijskih sezona 2018., 2019. i 2020. zabilježeno je šest hibridnih svojti, dvije intergeneričke i četiri ...intrageneričke. Od toga je samo
Orchis
×
gennarii
Serapicamptis fontanae
(E. G. Camus) H. Kretzschmar, Eccarius & H. Dietr. nisu nađeni objavljeni podaci za Hrvatsku, pa taj nalaz možemo smatrati prvim.
Within the course of the systematic study of the Orchidaceae family on the island of Krk during the growing seasons of 2018, 2019, and 2020, six hybrid taxa were recorded, out of which two intergeneric and four intrageneric ones. Out of these, only
Orchis
×
gennarii
Rchb. f. has already been included in the Flora Croatica Database, although previous literature records for Croatia exist for five out of six discovered hybrids. No previous literature record was found for the intergeneric hybrid ×
Serapicamptis
fontanae
(E.G.Camus) H. Kretzschmar, Eccarius & H. Dietr., therefore this finding can be considered its first record in Croatia.
The bare karst surface in the southeastern part of Krk Island (Croatia) is characterized by different surface karst features, such as valley-like shallow linear depressions and partially or fully ...sediment-filled depressions of various shapes and sizes. They were noticed due to locally increased thickness of sediment and enhanced vegetation but had not yet been systematically studied and defined. Considering only the geometry of the investigated surface features and the rare traces of cave environments detected by field surveys, it was unclear which processes (surface karstification and/or speleogenesis) contributed most to their formation. The low-frequency ground penetrating radar (GPR) method using a special 50MHz RTA antenna was applied to study and describe these karst features. Three study sites were chosen and 5km of GPR profiles were positioned to include various surface features. The results obtained from the GPR investigation lead to the following conclusions: (1) an increased thickness of sediment was detected in all the investigated depressions indicating their considerable depth; (2) areas between different depressions expressed as attenuated zones in GPR images reveal their interconnection; (3) transitions between surface and underground features are characterized by a collapsed passage visible in the GPR data; and (4) an underground continuation of surface valley-like depressions was detected, proving the speleogenetic origin of such features. Subsurface information obtained using GPR indicates that the valley-like depressions, irregular depressions completely or partially filled with sediment, and some dolines are associated with a nearly 4km-long unroofed cave and developed as a result of karst denudation. In the regional context, these results suggest long-lasting karstification processes in the area, in contrast to the pre-karstic fluvial phase previously assumed to have occurred here. This research is the first application of the GPR method to survey unroofed caves worldwide and the first detailed study of such karst features in Croatia. The low-frequency GPR proved to be an efficient method not only for detecting underground continuations but also for distinguishing and identifying surface features and transition zones between surface and subsurface segments of unroofed caves and can therefore be used for recognizing similar geomorphological features.
•Unroofed caves proved using low-frequency GPR with 50MHz RTA antenna.•Surface and near surface segments of unroofed caves were detected and interpreted using GPR.•Transition zones between surface and underground features were identified and defined on the basis of the GPR image.•A conceptual model of karst denudation and development of unroofed caves in the study area is proposed.
U navedenim varijantama garažno-parkirni objekt predstavlja glavni predmet rješavanja problema parkiranja, gdje se uz izgradnju navedenog objekta i uklanjanjem postojećih parkirnih mjesta povećavaju parkirališni kapaciteti.
This paper presents parking issues in the City of Krk. Increasing the number of vehicles on the roads results in vehicle accommodation or parking. This problem is most evident in big towns and cities on the coast, where during the summer months the population increases because of tourists who come in large numbers. The City of Krk is one of the most important tourist destinations of the homonymous island and as such, it attracts more and more tourists in the area. The increasing number of vehicles enter the centre of the city in search of a parking space, especially in summer months, causing traffic congestion which results in air pollution from vehicles producing exhaust gases and in increased noise, all of which negatively affects the local population. In this paper three variants are proposed in order to address the parking problem in the City of Krk, by increasing the parking capacity of the vehicles in the centre of the city. In these variants, the garage-parking facility is the main object of the parking problem, where
the parking facilities are expanded with the construction of the before
mentioned facility and the removal of the existing parking lots. The aim of the paper is to present the proposed solutions to produce positive effects of the parking problem in the City of Krk. The solution
is reflected in the relocation of roads in the very centre of the city
from the vehicles that are looking for parking places which has the effect of reducing traffic congestion and thus decreasing the air pollution and having a lesser impact of noise on the local environment. It also has positive effects on the quality of life for the local population. The purpose of this paper is to show the issue of parking in
a city and how this problem can be solved taking into account the available space and rules of traffic flow in the area of the city.
Tourism began to grow relatively slowly throughout history, starting in the middle of the 20th century. Today, tourism as a whole has imposed itself as one of the most propulsive economic activities. ...For the Republic of Croatia, where tourism accounts for more than a fifth of the GDP of the national economy. The aim of this work is focused on the presentation of the potential and concept of tourism development of island tourism with an emphasis on the island of Krk, i.e., its most developed municipality of Malinska. The paper conducted an empirical investigation of local residents' attitudes about the elements of the tourism offer in the municipality of Malinska and the impact of tourism on its development. The purpose of this research, in the interpretation of the obtained results, is to find relevant answers at the level of the tourist destination of Malinska about the attitude of the local population towards tourism, towards phenomena in the environment of importance for tourism, towards the development of the tourist destination and the assessment of the offer and quality of the tourist offer. The general results of the research led to the conclusion that the tourism of the mentioned destination has progressed, but that there is still room for progress and development of the offer in order to build a more competitive and market-recognizable tourist product.
The paper compares air and sea surface temperatures in recent years on two islands in the Adriatic Sea. The data measured at the climatological station Krk on the island of Krk and the main ...meteorological station Lastovo on the island of Lastovo are used. The island of Krk is located in the north of the Adriatic Sea and Lastovo in the south. Since a significant increase in air and sea surface temperatures has been observed over the last thirty years, the goal is to establish how they reflect at these two stations, 313 km apart. The goal of the analysis is to monitor the changes in these two islands to reduce the negative impacts they may cause. The analysis of sea temperatures showed that global warming has a greater impact in the northern Adriatic than in the southern Adriatic. Air and sea surface temperatures have a faster upward trend on Krk than on Lastovo. Similar to the Mediterranean Sea, a positive trend was observed in the Adriatic Sea for both sea surface temperature and air temperature.
Level of Detail).
In a globalised setting, the only way to differentiate Croatian destinations from others is by asserting the destinations’ traditions, history, indigenous elements and cultural heritage. This paper ...synthesizes and builds upon the theoretical determinants of event tourism in developing and branding destinations, with practical implementation in the example of the Krk Fair “Lovrečeva”. Based on the current-state analysis of the competitiveness of the Krk Fair and tourism in the Town of Krk, the paper defines development objectives and strategies to enable the event to evolve into the brand, symbol, synonym and identity of the destination based on a culture of learning and integration (synergy of local government and self-government, Tourist Boards, all stakeholders, and residents as drivers of entrepreneurship, together with the active involvement of tourists). The study highlights opportunities and concrete activities in valorising and asserting historical and cultural heritage to bring together the destination’s past and its tourism-related present and future to build a distinctive identity for the Town of Krk. The originality of the paper is the result of theoretical determinants, the opinions of the authors, and the results of surveying managers; as such it presents a starting point for future studies. The limitations of the study relate to the small sample of surveyed managers and to the fact that residents and tourists were not surveyed
Beatrix Frangepán (* c. 1480, +(27 March) 1510) from the Counts of Veglia (Krk), Modrus and Zengg was a descendant from one of the leading families of the Hungarian–CroatianHungarian–Croatian late ...Medieval Kingdom. She became wife of Crown Prince János Corvinus-Hunyadi and later of Margrave Georg Hohenzollern-Brandenburg. From her first marriage, she had three children. One of these, Kristóf, who died young, was buried together with his father in Lepoglava (Croatia). Recently, successful archaeogenetic analyses have been performed on the remains of János and Kristóf Corvinus-Hunyadi; and in the course of these studies, the family background of Kristóf’s mother, Beatrix Frangepán, became an important factor. The present study provides a nine-generation family tree of Beatrix Frangepan as a complementary data pool for an eventual expansion of the archaeogenetic studies. Preliminary results of archaeological study of the supposed grave of Beatrix Frangepán are also reported.
