The Chinese want more than confessions from old soldiers. They have their own records and eyewitness accounts, many of them compiled after the 1949 revolution raised a ''bamboo curtain'' between ...China and the free world--a cold-war divide that guaranteed Japan's wartime misdeeds would never be fully exposed. The Chinese claimed that Japan used chemical weapons in more than 2,000 battles that spanned nine years and killed roughly 10,000 people. As if to corroborate these charges, remnants of Japan's chemical arsenal have risen like ghosts from the grave. In 1953, chemical rounds sold as scrap metal injured 70 workers in Heilongjiang province. In 1991, leaky phosgene mortar rounds made 20 people dizzy at a high school in Hebei province. In Xiaobeitun, site of a chemical-warfare testing ground, 47-year-old farmer Fan Lizhong remembers ''catching my rake on a large metal shell,'' probably a chemical bomb, while gathering kindling as a child. He counts himself lucky it didn't detonate, which would have added his name to the roughly 2,000 Chinese injured, more than a dozen fatally, by abandoned chemical weapons. Japan learned how to make these weapons in the trenches of World War I. At the French government's invitation, Lt. Col. Taneki Hisamura, then a Japanese military attache in England, spent 1918 touring French chemical-weapons factories. After the Armistice, he and a colleague did similar research in Germany. Back home, their findings inspired a crash program, in defiance of the 1925 Geneva Protocol banning chemical weapons. Japan imported manufacturing equipment from both France and Germany, and in 1929 began building a production facility so secret that its location, Ohkuno Island, was erased from unclassified Japanese maps. Dubbed ''the island of great hardship,'' the facility produced toxins for 7.5 million weapons. In 1931 the hardship spread to China. Japan invaded Manchuria, a resource-rich industrial region, and established Unit 516 in Qiqihar to develop and test a modern chemical arsenal. The facility perfected a variety of new weapons, from deadly smoke ''candles'' to chemical grenades, mortars and heavy artillery--all manufactured with Ohkuno's poisons. Japanese troops used these munitions almost from the day they invaded central China in 1937. They launched 375 separate chemical attacks in a four-month campaign to conquer Wuhan, for example, and in the deadliest gas attack of the war killed more than 800 people in tunnels beneath the communist-held hamlet of Beitan. A Chinese newspaper account published soon after the 1942 assault described victims as civilians ''without an inch of iron in their grip who died at the hands of Japanese devils.''

Amaç: Bu çalışmamızda (a) lateral epikondilit (LE) tanılı hastalarda derin transvers friksiyon masajı (DTFM) ve ekstrakorporeal şok dalga tedavisinin (ESWT) ağrı, kavrama kuvveti, fonksiyon ...üzerindeki kısa dönem etkilerini ve (b) her iki tedavi yönteminin maliyetlerini belirlemeyi ve karşılaştırmayı amaçladık.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmamıza LE tanısı alan 52 hasta (39 kadın, 13 erkek) randomize olarak iki gruba ayrıldı: DTFM grubu (n=25) ve ESWT (n=27) grubu. DF grubundaki hastalara haftada 2 gün toplam 6 seans DTFM uygulandı. ESWT grubundaki hastalara haftada bir kez 3 seans ESWT uygulandı. Tedavi öncesi ve tedaviden hemen sonraki ağrı şiddeti, ağrı eşiği, kavrama kuvveti, fonksiyonel durum (Mayo Dirsek Performans Skorlama Sistemi-MDPSS ve Kol, Omuz ve El Sorunları Anketi-DASH-T) değerlendirildi.
Bulgular: Her iki grubun tedavi sonrası istirahat ve aktivite sırasındaki ağrılarında, DASH-T skorlarında tedavi öncesine göre anlamlı derecede azalma; ağrı eşiği, kavrama kuvveti ve MDPSS skorunda ise anlamlı derecede artış saptandı. Bununla birlikte DTFM aktivite sırasındaki ağrının azaltılması ve fonksiyonelliğin arttırılmasında açısından ESWT’ye göre daha etkili bulundu. DTFM’nin tedavi maliyeti 69.60 TL, ESWT nin ise 124 TL olarak belirlendi.
Sonuç: Fizyoterapist tarafından kolaylıkla uygulanabilen, pahalı cihaz-ekipman gerektirmeyen ve daha az maliyetli olan DTFM, LE’li hastaların tedavisinde etkili bir tedavi yöntemi olarak kullanılabilir.
Amaç: Araştırma, uterus masajlarının kadınların postpartum ağrı şiddetini algılamasındaki etkisini belirlemektir.Gereç ve Yöntem: Bir eğitim ve araştırma hastanesi’nde Ağustos 2015-Kasım 2015 ...tarihleri arasında toplam (50 transabdominal dairesel fundus masajı grubu=TDFMG), 50 transabdominal bimanuel fundus masajı grubu=TBFMG) ve 50 kontrol grubu=KG) 150 kadın randomize kontrollü olarak standardize edildi. Kadınlar; 18-37 yaş arasında, 37.-41. gebelik haftasında, sistemik hastalığı, uterusu aşırı geren bir riski ve gebelik komplikasyonu olmayan, doğum ve doğum sonu herhangi bir komplikasyon gelişmeyen spontan vajinal doğum yapanlar şeklinde standardize edildi. Girişimli (forseps veya vakum) doğum yapan, kollum lesarasyonu, postpartum analjezik alan olgular çalışma dışı bırakıldı. Araştırmada kadınlara eylemin latent fazında uygulama ile ilgili bilgilendirme yapılıp onay alındıktan sonra her üç gruba “Gebe Tanıtım Bilgi Formu”, “Doğum Sonu Görüşme ve İzlem Formu” ve kadınların ağrı algılamasını belirlemek için “Vizüel Analog Skala Visual Analog Scale (VAS)” (postapartum 1., 2., 6. saatte) uygulandı. Her üç gruba postpartum dönemde standart hemşirelik bakımı verildi ve deney gruplarına farklı olarak postpartum birinci saatin sonunda 5 kez (15 dakikada bir ve 60 saniye süren) uterus masajı uygulandı.Bulgular: Kadınların %78’inin uterus masajının kendilerini rahatlattığını ve postpartum ikinci saatteki ağrı şiddetini algılama (VAS) puan ortalaması açısından gruplar arasında anlamlı fark olduğu belirlenmiştir (p<0,05). Plasentanın çıkarılma şekli ile kadınların postpartum 6. saatteki VAS puanı ortalaması arasındaki farkın anlamlı olduğu belirlenmiştir (p<0,05). BKİ ile kadınların postpartum 2.-6. saatteki VAS puanı ortalaması arasındaki farkın anlamlı olduğu saptanmıştır (p<0,05). Uterus masajı uygulanan kadınların daha az postpartum ağrı deneyimledikleri en az ağrı algılayan grubun ise TBFMG’u olduğu belirlenmiştir.Sonuç: Araştırmamızda, uterus masajı uygulanan kadınların postpartum dönemde daha az ağrı deneyimlediği saptanmıştır.
Objective: The research aims to find out effect of uterine massage in the perception of women's postpartum pain intensity.Material and Method: Total of 150 women (50 trans abdominal circular fundus massage TDFMG, 50 trans abdominal bimanuel fundus massage TBFMG and 50 control group CG) were checked and randomly standardized in a research and training hospital. A standardized group of women chosen from age between 18-37, who is in maternity week without a systematic disease and a pregnancy complication that excessive tensioning the uterus, in addition, spontan vaginal birth who does not have any birth and after-birth complication. Incidents with Interference birth (forceps or vacuum) or collum laceration, and who had analgesic postpartum are out of scope for the research. In the latent phase of research women were informed and asked for their approval then, the forms were filled out for all three groups as follows; “Pregnant Information Form”, “Postpartum Interview and Follow-up Form”. In addition, to determine women's pain perception, Visual Analog Scale (VAS) was applied within postpartum 1st, 2nd and 3rd hours. All three groups were provided by standard postpartum nursing care, and given massage 5 times at the end of the 1st hour (in every 15 minutes for 60 seconds duration) that differs from each other for every group.Results: 78% of women stated that a uterus massage relieved them and there was a significant difference in 2nd hour's VAS points between the groups(p<0.05). In addition, there was a substantial correlation between the method of taking out placenta and 6th hour postpartum pain (VAS) the average sensing (p<0.05). The difference between body mass index (BMI) and 2-6th hours postpartum pain the average sensing (VAS) was substantive. The women who were provided by a uterus massage, experienced less postpartum pain and the group TBFMG had the least postpartum pain.Conclusion: The research shows that, the women provided by a uterus massage had experienced less pain in postpartum period.
