The lexicography of the Slavonic nations, especially the branch of nest lexicography, has seen an impetuous development since the sixties, producing at least fifty publications, but it remains ...effectively unknown to French lexicography. Updated terminology, the symbols of successive parts of speech in the word-formative chain from the centre of the nest to the specific derivative, remain an achievement of researchers solely on this side of the Rhône. The DISFA dictionary (Claude Gruaz et al., published *"") neither does refer to the Slavonic tradition, nor even to the native, French tradition (p.ex. an unfinished project from the nineties that was initiated by Danielle Corbin), and remains despite the announcements only a morphological and etymological dictionary.
This meta-synthesis study aims to reveal the types of bilingualism in Turkey by interpreting the quantitative data and findings obtained from studies on bilingualism types. In the light of the ...findings, 28 types of bilingualism and 5 classification criteria have been identified in the theses written on bilingualism in the “Turkish Higher Education Institution Thesis Center database”. The synthesis data show that the most addressed type of bilingualism in 22 theses was “balanced” and “dominant bilingualism”. The most frequently used criterion in classifying bilingualism is “skill level criterion”, followed by “age of acquisition”, “cognitive organization,” and “status of the two languages”.
The Old Prussian adjective dūrai ‘shy’ is traditionally connected with the Slavic family of *durь (Russian дýрь ‘stupidity’) and *durъnъ (Russian дурнóй, Polish durny ‘silly, stupid’). But the formal ...and semantic relationships between these two lexical families still remain obscure. The aim of this paper is to elucidate the origin of Old Prussian dūrai and particularly to motivate its derivation from a root ‘to sting, to prick’ reflected by Lithuanian dùrti. It can be suggested that this derivation is based on a phraseological expression nudùrti aki̇̀s į̇̃ žẽmę ‘to look down to the ground’ used as a sign of psychological difficulty.

Proto-Slavic *lazъ, *lězti, *loza, and *lěsъ are explained as derived from the Proto-Indo-European root *leg’ ‛wind, bend’ through a closer look at the two origins of Proto-Slavic *lazъ and *lazь ...‛(fallow) field or meadow created in place of a cut or burned forest’ and ‛narrow passage’, ‛opening, gate in a fence’.
Early Romanian translations of the biblical texts were sometimes accompanied by a Slavonic version intended to augment the authority of the text while also reassuring the public (clergy and laypeople ...alike) that the new version avoided all suspicion of Protestant taint and remained true to the Eastern Orthodox faith. Ms. 85, a bilingual manuscript of the Apostólos dating from 1646, raises many questions, foremost among them being the precise source of the Romanian translation. Since the parallel Slavonic text does not match the translation made by the scribes belonging to the Agapia monastery, a collation of the Romanian text with previous version could be illuminating. A relevant case study is a text sequence from the first part of the manuscript. The ethnic names listed as having convened in Jerusalem for the Feast of Pentecost (Serbians, Czechs, Germans, Spanish, Franks, Albanians) are striking: not only are they anachronic in relation to the Greek text, but they do not come up in the Slavonic Vorlage, either. The comparison between the Ms. 85 and the pre-1646 Romanian translations of the Apostólos yields no similarities. In all likelihood, the authors of A1646 used Varlaam's homiliary (Carte eu invâtâtura) as a source, inaugurating a tradition which was followed by the New Testament translators working in the subsequent decades. Substituting contemporary ethnonyms for ancient ones was probably motivated by the desire to "domesticate" the Biblical text and render it meaningful for readers unfamiliar with arcane details about the original context. Thus, the accuracy of the text was sacrificed in order to minimize its strangeness and facilitate its understanding along contemporary lines.
Education plays a central role in supporting or impeding social mobility (Bourdieu & Passeron, 1974; Fend, 1980, 2006). The disadvantaged social and economic situation of the biggest part of the Roma ...minority (not only) in Central and Eastern Europe is usually seen as the main reason for their low educational attainment and success. And vice versa: the poor educational results are considered the main reason for their social deprivations. Therefore, education and lifelong learning have become the main strategy for improving their situation, especially since the ´Europeanization of the Roma issue` (Ram, 2015) through the European Union. Today, Education and lifelong learning are now the centre of EU-policies for achieving political and economic goals, like economic growth and social cohesion (Óhidy, 2008, 2009). This article analyzes the problems faced by and opportunities presented to the Roma people in selected Central and Eastern European countries, problems and opportunities arisen in the years up until 2020, regarding social mobility through education. In its analysis, this paper focused on the similarities. The article is based on 5 country studies from 2019, written by experts from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia (see Óhidy & Forray, 2019). The study uses the evidence from the country studies from Markéta Levínska, Dana Bittnerová & David Doubek, 2019 (Czech Republic), Julianna Boros & Eszter Gergye, 2019 (Hungary), Agnieszka Swietek & Wiktor Osuch, 2019 (Poland), Aurora Adina Colomeischi, 2019 (Romania) and Rastislav Rosinsky, 2019 (Slovakia) to explore the similarities in challenges, to increase the participation and success of Roma people.
The volume contains Andrea Trovesi’s linguistic writings, hitherto scattered in various journals and miscellanies, all characterized by a pragmatic approach. The first part collects studies on Slavic ...vocative conducted from a comparative-historical perspective ranging from Proto-Slavic to modern Slavic languages. These focus in particular on categorical transformations of the vocative, its relics, so-called ‘new vocatives,’ and pragmatic values developed in the various Slavic languages. The second part of the volume is devoted to modal meanings of the imperfect in a Slavic-Romance contrastive framework. The research privileges Bulgarian, but does not neglect the other Slavic languages of which it analyzes interesting residual peripheral aspects of such linguistic usage. Both lines of research presented here stand out for their originality and theoretical value considered from a point of view that leads from Slavic linguistics to the broader perspective of linguistics as a science of language.
Međunarodni naučni skup “Leksikografski postupak u različitim tipovima referentnih djela” održan je u Sarajevu 27–28. maja 2022. godine. Organizator skupa bio je Centar za leksikologiju i ...leksikografiju Odjeljenja humanističkih nauka u saradnji s Federalnim ministarstvom obrazovanja i nauke, a domaćin Akademija nauka i umjetnosti Bosne i Hercegovine. Skup je otvorio akademik Muris Čičić, predsjednik ANUBiH-a. Zbog pandemije koronavirusa Organizacioni odbor odlučio se za hibridno odvijanje skupa: uživo i onlajn. U radu skupa sudjelovali su lingvisti iz Bosne i Hercegovine, Bugarske, Crne Gore, Poljske, Rusije, SAD-a, Slovenije i Srbije. Podneseni referati i plodna diskusija pokazali su savremeno stanje i dostignuća leksikološko-leksikografskih istraživanja u Bosni i Hercegovini, srednjojužnoslavenskom i drugim (južno)slavenskim jezicima i šire. U ovom zborniku objavljuju se radovi koje su autori blagovremeno dostavili Organizacionom odboru. Prilozi obrađuju različite teme u referentnim djelima i korpusima. Iz raznih uglova i koristeći različite metode propituju jezičku prošlost i sadašnjost, dijalekatsku i terminološku leksiku, savremene opisne i specijalne jednojezičke i dvojezičke rječnike te enciklopedije. Prilozi nisu grupirani tematski; nižu se abecednim redom prema prezimenima autora. U vrijeme održavanja skupa upriličeno je gostujuće predavanje prof. dr. Danka Šipke (Arizona, SAD) o temi “Geografija riječi”. Zbornik okončava tekstom tog predavanja. Zahvaljujemo autoricama i autorima priloga, recenzentici i recenzentu te svima koji su pomogli u organizaciji skupa i izdavanju zbornika. Nadamo se da će zbornik naći svoje čitaoce među lingvistima, etnolozima, antropolozima i u širem krugu zainteresiranih za leksikološko-leksikografske teme.
