Johann Lange, probablement fils de J. Lange, conseiller de l'empereur Ferdinand 1er (mort en 1564) avait étudié le droit. Nous voyons par les inscriptions de l'album que, en 1603, il était « rei publicae Wicingensis notarius ». En 1609, il est qualifié « senator et notarius ». Lange s'est servi pour recevoir les souvenirs de ses amis d'un exemplaire interfolié des Icones de N. Reusner et de Theod. Zwinger.
