Glioblastoma is one of the most fatal diseases in human central nerve system. However, the prognosis and treatment of glioblastoma still call for steady improvement. In recent years, increasing ...studies have revealed that the abnormal expression of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is closely related to carcinogenesis and prognosis. Unfortunately, many lncRNAs still need further research in their function and molecule mechanism. LncRNA TRG-AS1 hasn’t been detected in any types of cancers before. TRG-AS1 is associated with poor prognosis and is upregulated in glioblastoma tissues and cells. TRG-AS1 can also accelerate glioblastoma cell proliferation in return. On the other hand, miRNA-877-5p expresses low in glioblastoma and contains binding sites with both TRG-AS1 and SUZ12. Furthermore, TRG-AS1 suppresses the expression of miR-877-5p while miR-877-5p suppresses SUZ12 expression. Overexpression of TRG-AS1 could promote the expression of SUZ12.Rescue assays demonstrates that overexpression of SUZ12 can counteract the decline of glioblastoma cell proliferation induced by knockdown of TRG-AS1. Based on all these assays, TRG-AS1 promotes glioblastoma cell proliferation by acting as a ceRNA of miR-877-5p to regulate SUZ12 expression. TRG-AS1 might serve as a new target in glioblastoma treatment.
This study was designed to observe the efficacy and safety of albumin-bound paclitaxel plus nedaplatin as neoadjuvant therapy in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). From April ...2019 to Dec 2020, patients with ESCC who underwent Mckeown surgery at our center were analyzed retrospectively. All patient received 2 to 3 cycles of albumin-bound paclitaxel combined with nedaplatin before surgery, tumor regression grade (TRG) and American National Cancer Institute Common Toxicity Criteria version 5.0 were used to evaluate its efficacy and safety. TRG grades from TRG 2 to TRG 5are considered effective in chemotherapy, TRG 1 stands for pathological complete response (pCR). A total of 41 patients were included in this study. All patients achieved R0 resection. According to the TRG classification, the number of patients assessed for TRG 1-TRG 5 were: 7 cases, 12 cases, 3 case, 12 cases and 7 cases. Its objective response rate and pCR were 82.9% (34/41) and 17.1% (7/41), respectively. We found that hematological toxicity is the most common adverse events of this regimen, with an incidence of 24.4%, followed by digestive tract reactions, with an incidence of 17.1%. Hair loss, neurotoxicity and hepatological disorder are the others, their incidence was 12.2%, 7.3%, and 2.4%; and chemotherapy related deaths were no found. Notably, 7 patients achieved pCR without recurrence or death. Survival analysis showed that patients with pCR may have longer disease-free survival (P = .085) and overall survival (P = .273), although the difference was not statistically significant. As neoadjuvant therapy for patients with ESCC, albumin-bound paclitaxel combined with nedaplatin has a higher pCR rate and less side effects. It is a reliable choice for ESCC patients as neoadjuvant therapy.

The abundance of TRG-AS1 and P2RY10 in CRC cell lines (HT-29 and LoVo) and normal colon cells FHC was determined and difference between CRC cells and normal cells was compared. LoVo cells were transfected with si-TRG-AS1 and si-P2RY10 constructs. Subsequently, the viability, colony formation, and migration of the transfected cells were analyzed using cell counting kit-8, clonogenicity, and scratch-wound/Transwell® assays, respectively. Cells overexpressing GNA13 were used to further explore the relationship between TRG-AS1 and P2RY10 along with their downstream functions. TRG-AS1 and P2RY10 were significantly upregulated in HT-29 and LoVo compared to FHC cells. TRG-AS1 knockdown and P2RY10 silencing suppressed the viability, colony formation, and migration of LoVo cells. TRG-AS1 knockdown downregulated the expression of P2RY10, GNA12, and GNA13, while P2RY10 silencing downregulated the expression of TRG-AS1, GNA12, and GNA13. Additionally, GNA13 overexpression reversed the cell growth and gene expression changes in LoVo cells induced by TRG-AS1 knockdown or P2RY10 silencing.

The control of the nanostructure and the addition of nanoparticles to polymers have led to structural and functional property enhancements in a number of polymeric systems as a material answer to ...continuous requirements from advanced industrial sectors. The availability of new nanoparticles with extraordinary properties (i.e. carbon nanotubes, graphenes, but also nanoclays, nanocellulose, metals and ceramics) have determined new and exciting possibilities for a continuous enlargement of polymer markets. However, the potentialities of these new materials are still strongly dependent on the development and scaling-up of reliable processing routes. Therefore, the purpose of this report is to review the main processing approaches for nanostructured polymers and nanocomposites starting with a brief review of available nanoparticles and on their functionalization to promote a better polymer–particle interaction. Regarding processing, the review firstly addresses the bottom-up approaches typically adopted for nanostructured polymers, blends and copolymers. Then, the different technologies required by the top-down processing of thermoplastic and thermosetting polymer matrix systems are reviewed. Finally, the report addresses the recent applications of nanostructured polymers and nanocomposites as matrices of advanced composite materials. In all cases, the main processing approaches and the main structural and functional properties characterizing these materials and their potential and current industrial applications are specifically addressed.
Purpose
The neoadjuvant rectal (NAR) score is a promising indicator of survival after preoperative chemoradiotherapy for rectal cancer. However, its effectiveness after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) ...alone has not been fully investigated.
Methods
We analyzed data retrospectively on 61 patients with rectal cancer, who received NAC followed by surgical resection between 2010 and 2015, and evaluated the impact of the NAR score on survival.
Results
The median NAR score was 14.9. Of the 61 patients, 13, 35, and 13 were classified as having NAR-low (< 8), NAR-intermediate (8–16), and NAR-high (> 16) scores, respectively. The median observation period was 49.0 months. According to the NAR score, the 3-year DFS in the NAR-low group was 100%, which was significantly better than that in the NAR-intermediate (64.8%,
p
= 0.041), and NAR-high (61.5%,
p
= 0.018) groups. When the NAR-intermediate and NAR-high groups were investigated as a single high-risk group, the 3-year DFS of the patients who received adjuvant chemotherapy was 88.7%, which was significantly better than that of the patients who did not receive adjuvant chemotherapy (53.3%,
p
= 0.042).
Conclusions
The NAR score may predict the DFS and could serve as a favorable indicator of adjuvant chemotherapy after NAC alone.
A high-linearity and high-gain AlGaN/GaN HEMTs with a 100-nm gate were demonstrated. The device employs transitional recessed gate (TRG) along the gate width for millimeter wave power application. ...The gradually changing gate recess depth was created using transitional dosed photoetching. Accurate etching ensured that the FET-elements have a continued V ts offset in the local equivalent threshold voltage (V th ) in different areas. The device exhibits a high I d,max of 1.12 A/mm and a high peak extrinsic gm of 374 mS/mm with an improved gate swing > 2.6 V, much higher than that of Fin-HEMT. Excellent RF performance was shown, including f T /f max = 61.8/148.8 GHz, G as /G linear = 9.98/ 12dB at 30 GHz. To the best of our knowledge, this is the best associated gain and linearity performance reported to date for AlGaN/GaN HEMTs. This letter has great potential for high gain and linearity millimeter wave power applications, which are needed for future communication systems.
This article presents a low power-supplied 13-bit 20-MS/s time-to-digital converter (TDC)-assisted successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC). In this hybrid ...architecture, the voltage-to-time converter (VTC) and TDC realize an inherent process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) robustness by inner tracking, thus inducing no extra power and circuit overheads. The voltage-domain and time-domain speed-enhanced techniques accelerate the first- and second-stage ADC conversions under a low power supply, respectively. Furthermore, in cooperation with a detect-and-skip switching scheme in the SAR ADC and an offset bit-shifting scheme in the two-step TDC, the ADC achieves linearity of 13 bit. The prototype ADC was fabricated in a 65-nm CMOS process with a 0.6-V power supply, achieving a 71.0-dB signal-to-noise and distortion ratio (SNDR) and an 89.5-dB spurious-free dynamic range with a Nyquist input at 20 MS/s, while exhibiting a Schreier figure-of-merit (FoM) of 181.9 dB. The ADC presents a sub-1-dB SNDR drop across a temperature range of -50 to 90 °C and ±5% power-supply variation.
All jawed vertebrates have four T cell receptor (TCR) chains that are expressed by thymus-derived lymphocytes and play a major role in animal immune defence. However, few studies have investigated ...the TCR chains of crocodilians compared with those of birds and mammals, despite their key evolutionary position linking amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Here, employing an Alligator sinensis genomic bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library and available genome data, we characterized the genomic organization, evolution and expression of TRB and TRG loci in Alligator sinensis. According to the sequencing data, the Alligator sinensis TRB locus spans approximately 500 Kb of genomic DNA containing two D-J-C clusters and 43 V gene segments and is organized as Vβ(39)-pJβ1-pCβ1-pDβ1-Dβ2- Jβ2(12)-Cβ2-Vβ(4), whereas the TRG locus spans 115 Kb of DNA genomic sequence consisting of 18 V gene segments, nine J gene segments and one C gene segment and is organized in a classical translocon pattern as Vγ(18)–Jγ(9)-Cγ. Moreover, syntenic analysis of TRB and TRG chain loci suggested a high degree of conserved synteny in the genomic regions across mammals, birds and Alligator sinensis. By analysing the cloned TRB/TRG cDNA, we identified the usage pattern of V families in the expressed TRB and TRG. An analysis of the junctions of the recombined VJ revealed the presence of N and P nucleotides in both expressed TRB and TRG sequences. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that TRB and TRG loci possess distinct evolutionary patterns. Most Alligator sinensis V subgroups have closely related orthologues in chicken and duck, and a small number of Alligator sinensis V subgroups have orthologues in mammals, which supports the hypothesis that crocodiles are the closest relatives of birds and mammals. Collectively, these data provide insights into TCR gene evolution in vertebrates and improve our understanding of the Alligator sinensis immune system.

Gastric cancer is among the top five causes of cancer-related death worldwide. Preoperative chemotherapy has been established as an option in patients with locally advanced gastric cancer. However, ...chemotherapy yields variable results, owing to the cellular and molecular heterogeneity of this disease. Identifying patients who did or did not respond to preoperative therapy can allow clinicians to alter treatment modalities and provide important information related to prognostication. A pathologic response to preoperative therapies, called the Tumor Response Grade (TRG), has been evaluated to quantify treatment response. Multiple systems for TRG have been established. However, the literature has demonstrated inconsistent results for TRG systems and prognosis, possibly due to variability in interpretation of tumor response between systems and interobserver variability. Radiographic responses to preoperative therapies using RECIST 1.1 criteria and endoscopically assessed tumor response have demonstrated association with survival; however, their use in gastric cancer remains challenging given the inability to accurately and consistently identify and measure the tumor, especially in the setting of neoadjuvant therapy, where treatment-related changes can obscure the gastric wall layers. While the response to preoperative therapies with positron emission tomography (PET) has shown promising results in esophageal and esophagogastric junction (EGJ) malignancies, its role in gastric cancer is still under investigation. This review is focused on summarizing the available literature related to evaluating TRG in gastric cancer, as well as providing a brief overview of the use of radiographic and endoscopic methods to assess response to preoperative therapies. Lastly, we outline future directions regarding the use of a universal TRG system to guide care and assist with prognosis.
