Se investigó la diferencia existente entre el nivel de resiliencia de personas con discapacidad física, comparando deportistas de alto rendimiento y personas no deportistas. Se realizó un muestreo ...por conveniencia con la participación de 20 personas con discapacidad física, 10 deportistas de alto rendimiento de Boyacá y 10 no deportistas; ambos grupos con 6 hombres y 4 mujeres, con edades entre los 19 y 25 años. Estudio de enfoque cuantitativo, de corte transversal y tipo comparativo no experimental, utilizando el instrumento Escala de Resiliencia de Wagnild y Young (1993), validado y estandarizado por Gómez (2019). Los resultados evidencian una diferencia de medias superior para el grupo de deportistas de rendimiento en comparación con los no deportistas, sin embargo, dicha diferencia no fue estadísticamente significativa (t (18) = 1.38; p = .092) concluyendo que el deporte de alto rendimiento es uno de muchos factores que favorecen la resiliencia en personas con discapacidad física.

Throughout the world, many coaches and physical education teachers do not give importance to the evaluation of the physical capacities of athletes, and poor performance. This study is carried out to ...determine the speed and muscle power of the athletes' lower limbs. With regard to muscle speed, all the athletes evaluated were in the middle category. In conclusion, for any sports activity, we need speed and muscle power. That is why coaches and athletes need to develop all physical qualities such as speed, muscular power, strength, agility, muscular and cardiovascular endurance to obtain high performance.
The Female Athlete Triad (Triad) is a medical condition of female athletes consisting of three components: low energy availability (EA), menstrual dysfunction (MD), and low bone mineral density ...(BMD). The prevalence of all three components of the Triad ranges from 1-14%. In last ten years, it has ranged from 1.3% up to 23% with 78% of female athletes having at least one of the three components of the Triad. The aim of this systematic review is to collect and analyze recent studies of the Female Athlete Triad. Based on an analysis of electronic databases and the inclusion criteria set, 20 studies were included in the analysis. The following conclusions are proposed based on their analysis: MD was the most prevalent among endurance athletes with ranges from 35.5% to 60.7%, with the presence of secondary amenorrhea and oligomenorrhea, 30% to 64.0% and 18% to 27.0% and with a very high level of cases with irregular menorrhea, 72.3%. Low/negative EA ranges from 19.8% among non-leanness athletes and up to 77%. The greatest proportion of athletes in moderate- and high-risk categories for expressing the Triad participated in sports that emphasize leanness, including cross-country, gymnastics running, and lacrosse. A recommendation for future research is that they should focus on enhanced monitoring of physically active women, and the prevention of the Triad, stress fractures and osteoporosis.
Background. This is a study of the outstanding achievements of the Indonesian Pencak Silat athletes at the 18th Asian Games (AG) sporting event. There are many aspects that determine sports success; ...one of which is the athletes’ psychological skills factor. The purpose of this study is to explore psychological skills of Indonesian Pencak Silat athletes at the 18th Asian Games. Method. This study employed a retrospectives causal-comparative design method. The psychological aspects and achievements of Pencak Silat athletes are not yet available, and it therefore became an interesting exploration of Pencak Silat athletes’ psychological skills. The sample was 22 Pencak Silat athletes, with an average age of 22.8 years. The instrument employed was The Psychological Skills Inventory for Sports (PSIS). The data analysis techniques employed were descriptive statistics and document analysis. Results. The results show that the psychological skills of motivation, confidence, anxiety control, mental preparation, team emphasis, and concentration in a Pencak Silat athlete are high. Conclusion. The results show that the six aspects of a Pencak Silat athlete’s psychological skills are high. This is new evidence that strengthens the theory that a Pencak Silat athlete’s psychological skills, which are special elements of sports psychology, contribute to achieving success.
