The objective of this article is to investigate cross-border real economic convergence, defined as the process of reducing the asymmetry of the economic development of cross-border areas in the ...conditions of European (territorial) integration. The analysis applies the relative asymmetry index which compares the level of regional gross domestic product (GDP) per capita (purchasing power standards - PPS) of neighbouring border areas. Its results confirm the occurrence of σ-convergence (in the periods 1980-85, 1985-94 and 2004-15) and absolute cross-border β-convergence (in different subperiods in the period 1980-2015). The obtained results also suggest that cross-border convergence generally progresses slower than convergence at the international level.

Communities living in border areas face greater challenges in terms of access to health compared to urban communities. This article aims to strengthen and complement previous research on health ...accessibility policies for people in border areas. This research is a literature review that uses the Publish or Perish (PoP) software to search for relevant articles, as well as the Vos viewer to visualize the relevance of previous research. A total of 19 relevant previous studies were used in this study. The results of the research show that people in border areas, both in Indonesia and other developing countries, face significant health access problems. The implication of this research is the importance for governments in developing countries to develop health policies that are applicable and in accordance with conditions in border areas.
Lundquist K.-J. and Trippl M. Distance, proximity and types of cross-border innovation systems: a conceptual analysis, Regional Studies. Due to a lack of both theoretical and systematic empirical ...work, innovation-driven integration processes in cross-border areas are still poorly understood. Departing from the regional innovation system (RIS) approach, recent work on different forms of proximity, and the literature on cross-border areas, this paper seeks to identify in a conceptual way different stages in the development of cross-border innovation systems and to highlight the main characteristics and barriers characterizing each phase. The conceptual model proposed in this paper can serve as a useful framework, guiding more systematic and comparative empirical work on cross-border innovation systems in different regional and national contexts.

Co-infection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) and the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a major global public health issue, particularly in border areas of resource-limited nations, including ...Ethiopia.
To explore the prevalence and associated variables of MTB/HIV co-infection among PTB presumptive patients in Northwest Ethiopia.
From February to August 2021, a cross-sectional institutional investigation was conducted at the Metema and Abrehajira hospitals. Semi-structured questionnaires were used to collect socio-demographic and clinical data. The MTB/RIF Xpert assay was used to process sputum, and 3 ml of veins blood was collected for HIV rapid test (STAT-PAK, ABON, and SD BIOLINE HIV test algorithm) following the Ethiopian National HIV test algorithm. The Gene Xpert assay's sample processing control was checked to ensure data quality. Data entered into Epi-Data were exported to SPSS version 20 for analysis. Statistically significant variables (p-value ≤0.2) from bivariable analysis were included in multivariable analysis. A p-value ≤ 0.05 was judged statistically significant.
This study included 314 PTB presumptive patients with a median age of 35.0 years, of which 178 (56.69 %) were males. Among all patients, 40(12.7 %) and 51(16.2 %) were PTB, and HIV seropositivity, respectively. Of the PTB patients, 14/40 (35 %) (95 % CI: 24.4–45.6) were co-infected with HIV/AIDS. Married patients were 70 % less likely than unmarried individuals (AOR = 0.3 CI; 0.07–0.98) to have MTB/HIV co-infection. Patients who had contact history with MDR-TB patients (AOR = 5 CI; 1.37–18.00), and those who had a history of alcohol use (AOR = 12.2 CI; 2.56–57.8) were more likely to have MTB-HIV co-infection than their peers.
Our findings showed that MTB-HIV co-infection is one of the most important community health concerns in the study area. Therefore, MTB/HIV cooperation activities should be fully in place to prevent co-infection and its impact on the population.
Border communities are currently under pressure from global change. This pressure is both inland and out of land, The border regions of Iran are part of the national territorial arena which, due to ...their geographical location, have distinct conditions in terms of development indicators. These areas, although in a sustainable systemic attitude, should complement inland failures, but because of the conflicts and disruption they pose a growing threat to the security and integrity of the land. Accordingly, the issue of this study is how the spatial structure of residence and activity in frontier and inland areas is based on development indicators and what pattern does it follow? Based on the research problem, the research method is descriptive-analytical. In the description section, relying on statistical sources, it describes a few quantities, and then in the analysis section, it mainly classifies secondary analysis using the status quo matrix using multi-criteria decision-making techniques. Key development indicators and indicators are also defined for each zone. The results show that the study areas have many descriptive differences in indices and indicators. The pattern of development in Iran starts from the Caspian coastal border region as a center of development. It then heads northwest and northeast. Then through the central part of Iran, it connects to the center of development of the southern border of the country. Underdeveloped centers are also located on both sides of central Iran. The eastern, western and southeastern border regions of Iran have not been developed.
This study aims to obtain information about strengthening national character for students in the border area, with a focus on the assessment of strengthening programs, program specificities, the ...actualization of program implementation, and monitoring patterns, monitoring, evaluation and follow-up of character strengthening programs for students in the border area. The study was conducted by combining quantitative and qualitative approaches through data deepening of students in two Senior High Schools (SMA) in border areas, namely SMA Negeri I and SMA Negeri II Balai Karangan, Sanggau district. Through questionnaires, in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) it was concluded that the general character strengthening program had been carried out quite well, which was marked by a character strengthening program, schools had good initiatives in developing student character strengthening programs, education character has been carried out through the learning process and outside the learning process. Observation, monitoring, evaluation, and follow-up can already be implemented in character strengthening programs for students in the border area. The main supporting factor in the implementation of character strengthening is that there has been a good synergy between schools, parents and the community in character strengthening program in the border areas. Dimensions that have not been optimal are the absence of specific programs that characterize character reinforcement for students in the border area, program socialization has not been carried out thoroughly and the involvement of parents in the discussion of the results of monitoring and evaluation that is not optimal.
