The purpose of the article is to study the prospects of the development of electronic resources for social and communication activities of information institutions in Ukraine and the world.
Research ...methodology. General scientific and special research methods were used, in particular analysis and synthesis, comparison, generalization, and system-structural analysis.
Scientific novelty. It is determined that electronic information resources in the form of digitized documents are currently the most effective form of involvement in the scientific circulation of huge arrays of documents contained in the funds of state archives of Ukraine for social and communication activities of information institutions. Measures to ensure the development of information potential in the context of digitalization are proposed.
Conclusions. Thus, such types of electronic resources as local, network and electronic resources of combined distribution are distinguished. It has been clarified that among the virtual representations in the virtual information space, a significant place belongs to the websites of information institutions. It has been established that information infrastructure is a means of interaction and exchange of information resources. It has been defined that information potential is an important resource that is positioned, disclosed and used to form new resources and products and ascertainment of information needs of modern users. It has been clarified that the result of the introduction of information potential in the context of digitalization can be the formation of a single regional consolidated information resource with a single format for presenting data based on the use of modern digital platforms, increasing the level of development and application of information potential in general. It has been determined that to further ensure the development of electronic resource potential, it is necessary to consider the possibility and organization of interaction between a library, archival and museum institutions in the modern information and communication environment.
BACKGROUND: The increase in coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 transmission cases in Indonesia has caused the government to impose restrictions on community activities with emergency PPKM since July 3, ...2021. Activity restrictions prevent community from being able to meet, interact, and communicate face-to-face freely even though communication activities are very essential in human life.
AIM: This study aimed to explore and analyze the communication activities of community living in Medan City during the implementation of emergency PPKM.
METHODS: The research method used was a qualitative approach by conducting open online interviews with 20 Medan people with various backgrounds, ranging from students, traders, and formal workers to housewives. The interview was conducted personally. The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively using Nvivo12 application. To maintain the credibility of the research data, triangulation was conducted by carrying out confirmation of the research results to the informants.
RESULTS: The research results indicated that communities encountered obstacles and problems in communication activities because they cannot meet other people freely due to the activities restriction conducted by the government. The students then adjusted to the obstacles by conducting online communication to meet the needs of communication.
CONCLUSION: The communities carried out communication activities online to interact and fulfill the necessities of life. People who are inhibited from doing activities outside their homes are still looking for information about the development of COVID-19 cases and where the vaccination site is. In addition, people rely on online shopping applications for daily needs and access social media more to fill boredom because they stay at home all day.
The subject of the study is the problem of assessing and perceiving the contribution of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to the economy of the member states. In the first part, a variant of ...calculating the role of the Union is proposed on the basis of an additive model summarizing the results of trade and investment cooperation within the Union over the period of its activity; the values obtained are correlated with the GDP of the member states. The conclusion is made about the leading role of trade and economic ties in the EAEU space in the development of Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Armenia. It is recommended to take into account the statistics of mutual trade turnover, rather than the balance, in the description of the role of the EAEU; significant differences in estimates are shown depending on the chosen approach. In the second part, the tools of information support and coverage of the organization’s activities are tracked, contributing to the popularization of the benefits of integration. The ways of development of the information and communication policy of the EAEU are proposed, including taking into account the experience of the relevant policy of the European Union. In the passive forms of communication, according to the author, it is advisable to create official Internet portals explaining the legislation of the EAEU; it is valuable to focus attention in information publications on quantitative achievements and integration benchmarks; among the active forms, the organization of network conferences on the present and future is proposed, contributing both to awareness of the benefits of integration and further disclosure of the potential of the EAEU
EFL/ESL teachers have used digital communication activities to teach language skills. However, the effect of digital communication activities on EFL learners' Willingness to Communicate (WTC) in ...classrooms and learner engagement has yet to be well investigated. This study examined the influence of digital communication activities on the engagement and willingness to communicate of intermediate English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. It also assessed the potential advantages of integrating digital communication into language learning contexts. A mixed-methods approach involving pretest-posttest comparisons and qualitative interviews was employed. In the quantitative phase, four intact classes of 80 intermediate Chinese EFL learners were recruited and assigned to control and experimental groups. They attempted the scales (WTC and engagement) before and after treatment. However, 20 EFL learners exposed to digital communication activities were interviewed. The research revealed notable enhancements in affective, cognitive, and behavioral engagement among the experimental group. Moreover, a substantial positive effect on EFL learners' willingness to communicate was observed, particularly in speaking, writing, reading, and comprehension activities. Findings have practical implications for EFL teachers and learners to use digital communication activities to enhance the learners' WTC in the classroom and different aspects of engagement.
Purpose Disabilities after stroke are known to have adverse effects on the quality of life. This study investigated the relationship between Communication Activities of Daily Living (C-ADL) and ...quality life of elderly stroke patients to provide basic data for use in enhancing the quality of life. Subjects and Methods One hundred sixty five elderly over the age of 60, who were diagnosed as having stroke and receiving treatment in rehabilitation departments of general hospitals were surveyed. Stroke patients’ basic communication ability to survive in daily living was measured using the C-ADL Second Edition, and stroke patients’ quality of life was measured with the Stroke-Specific Quality of Life (SSQOL). The relationship between C-ADL and SSQOL was analyzed using multiple regression analysis. Results C-ADL had a significant positive relationship with SSQOL. Conclusion This result implies that it is necessary to enhance stroke patients’ communication ability in daily living in order to raise their quality of life.
