This paper examines the impact of human capital mismatch on the innovation performance of knowledge-intensive service enterprises. Taking China's knowledge-intensive service ...industries (KISI) as our research object, we construct a human capital allocation measurement framework to evaluate the current state of human capital allocation of sub-industries in China using the 2007 and 2013 Chinese Household Income Project data and Chinese A-share listed company data. Results show that human capital mismatch do exist in China's knowledge-intensive service industries, which exerts inhibitory effect on the innovation performance of KISI enterprises. We further find that such an effect varies with regions and industries. Our study aims to provide useful reference for relevant departments in stimulating innovation and accelerating market reform.
Four data-driven hydrological flood forecasting methods are applied at 20 locations in Pahang River basin, Malaysia (area 30 000 km
2
). Models are calibrated and validated using historical monsoon ...flood data. To improve real-time forecast accuracy with 48-h lead time, continuous error correction is applied. An analysis of model performance above the alert water level shows that key forecast points along the main reach are best predicted using a stage regression method, whereas the upstream-most stations are best modelled using rainfall-stage correlation. The unit hydrograph method and Sugawara's tank model perform well in the intermediate tributaries. Contrary to applying a single model to multiple points of interest or an ensemble model which requires evaluation of multiple models during operation, the multi-model approach allows the practical use of only the best-performing primary or secondary models at different points of interest within a large river basin to produce a reliable overall forecast with equal lead time.
► An empirical knowledge management model for a professional virtual community. ► An empirical knowledge management system framework for a professional virtual community. ► An empirical knowledge ...management system prototype for a professional virtual community.
With continued growth of the service-oriented knowledge economy, knowledge-intensive service industries (KISI) have become a trend nowadays for industrial development. Enterprise activities in knowledge-intensive service industries are highly creative. When performing and achieving each activity, the domain professional knowledge and experiences, which involve various ideas, such as service innovation or service value-added, are employed.
Therefore, effective knowledge management must be achieved to rapidly accumulate knowledge assets of enterprise and increase the efficiency of knowledge-intensive service industries.
A professional virtual community is an interactive platform that allows enterprise experts to create and share empirical knowledge in knowledge-intensive service industries. A high volume of useless information and empirical knowledge is typically generated during expert discussions. Therefore, managing and sharing useful contents of knowledge discussion have become important issues for empirical knowledge management in a professional virtual community.
This work presents a systematic approach to develop a framework for managing empirical knowledge to support a professional virtual community in knowledge-intensive service industries. The approach presented in this study comprises three phases: (i) proposing an empirical knowledge management model for a professional virtual community, (ii) designing an empirical knowledge management system framework for a professional virtual community, and (iii) implementing an empirical knowledge management system prototype for a professional virtual community.
Study results facilitate efforts within the professional virtual community to extract, verify, store, and share empirical knowledge to assist knowledge-intensive service industries in enhancing service innovation abilities and creating the best services for customers.
The essential oils of three aromatic plant species, Lantana viburnoides sp. viburnoides var. kisi (A. Rich.) Verdc., Clausena anisata (Willd.) Benth. and Uvariodendron gorgonis Verdc., were analysed ...for their chemical compositions and repellency activity against Anopheles gambiae s.s. The major chemical constituents were piperitenone (25.25%) and artemisia ketone (13.96%) in L. viburnoides oil; Estragol (88.38%) in C. anisata; and eugenol (89.82%) in U. gorgonis. The essential oils exhibited varying repellency properties against An. gambiae confirming the ethnobotanical usage as insect repellent. Further prospect exist of improving repellency of U. gorgonis and L. viburnoides essential oils by incorporating some inactive carriers.
Lantana viburnoides sp viburnoides var kisi is used in Tanzania ethnobotanically to repel mosquitoes as well as in traditional medicine for stomach ache relief. Bioassay-guided fractionation and ...subtraction bioassays of the dichloromethane extract of the root barks were carried out in order to identify the bioactive components for controlling Anopheles gambiae s.s. mosquito larvae.
Twenty late III or early IV instar larvae of An. gambiae s.s. were exposed to various concentrations of the plant extracts, fractions, blends and pure compounds, and were assayed in the laboratory by using the protocol of WHO 1996. Mean mortalities were compared using Dunnett's test (p < 0.05) and lethal concentration calculated by Lackfit Inversel of the SAS programme.
The crude extract (LC50 = 7.70 ppm in 72 h) and fractions exhibited different level of mosquito larvicidal activity with subtraction of some fractions resulting in activity enhancement. The active fractions contained furanonaphthaquinones regio-isomers (LC50 = 5.48-5.70 ppm in 72 h) and the lantadene triterpenoid camaric acid (LC50 = 6.19 ppm in 72 h) as active principles while the lupane triterpenoid betulinic acid (LC50 < 10 ppm in 72 h) was obtained from the least active fraction.
Crude extracts and some fractions had higher or comparable larvicidal activity to the pure compounds. These results demonstrate that L. viburnoides sp viburnoides var kisi extracts may serve as larvicides for managing various mosquito habitats even in their semi-purified form. The isolated compounds can be used as distinct markers in the active extracts or plant materials belonging to the genus Lantana.

The complementary part of oral health in children is the inspection of the eruption and maturation of deciduous, mixed and permanent dentition by a pediatric dentist. With this inspection the child ...will result with a functionally and esthetically stable and excaptable occlusion. Many changes occure in the dental occlusion from the time of birth to adulthood. These changes are minor in the permanent dentition while major in the mixed dentiton. The pediatric dentist should always be aware of these dental changes, be able to diagnose any abnormal development (malocclusion) in the child patient. This kind of a concept will stop the unnecessary treatment applied to the physiological changes. The aim of this review is to discuss the changes in the occlusal relations and occlusion from deciduous to permanent dentition in children.
Female of Leuctra kisi STEINMANN, 1968, is compared with Leuctra quadrimaculata KIS, 1963. The similarity of their characters is stated, and the distinguishing characters of the original descriptions ...of L. kisi is rejected. The first record of L. quadrimaculata from Ukraine is given.
The findings of language typologists can contribute to understanding synchronic variation where no diachronic facts are available. By establishing what happens universally, one can extrapolate as to ...the past and perhaps as to the future of a language on the basis of synchronic evidence. One approach within such a framework concentrates on a typologically unusual or marked feature on the assumption that its derivation may be established from less highly marked features. This paper discusses the typologically unusual prenasalized stops of Kisi, a Mel language belonging to the Southern Branch of (West) Atlantic. The approach adopted here is based on the process-oriented framework developed by Joseph Greenberg.
