In der Sowjetunion war Martin Heidegger verfemt. Seine Schriften wurden weder ins Russische übersetzt, noch durfte man sich in der akademischen Philosophie mit ihm beschäftigen. Bereits in den 1980er ...Jahren setzte aber in Russland eine intensive Heidegger-Rezeption ein, die vor allem die erweiterten Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten der deutschen Existenzphilosophie begeistert aufgriff. Heute stellen in erster Linie konservative Autoren Beziehungen zu Heideggers Werk her. In der russischen Philosophiegeschichte bestehen überdies zahlreiche Anknüpfungspunkte zu Heideggers Denken, vor allem in der Konzeptualisierung der Begriffe „Sein“, „Sprache“, „Volk“ und „Gott“.
In the Soviet Union, Martin Heidegger was ostracised. His writings were not translated into Russian, and academic philosophers were forbidden from studying him. However, as early as the 1980s, an intense wave of appreciation for Heidegger took hold in Russia, where there was particular enthusiasm for the extended opportunities for expression provided by German existential philosophy. Today, most of the authors who draw on Heidegger’s work are of a conservative mindset. In the Russian history of philosophy, there are also numerous points of reference to Heidegger’s thought, particularly in the conceptualisation of the terms “being”, “language”, “people” and “God”.

The gold standard for measuring LDL-C is impractical and direct measurements have numerous shortcomings. Older predictive equations are used only with triglycerides (TG’s) below 4.52 mmol/L. We evaluated the newer equations validated for use in hypertriglyceridaemia by comparison with direct LDL-C.
Datasets from two platforms (Abbott Architect and Roche Cobas) comprised of a large cohort of 64,765 individuals were used to compare the Sampson-National Institutes of Health 2 (S-NIH2) and Extended Martin-Hopkins (E-MH) equations for LDL-C with direct LDL-C (dLDL-C) assays.
With TG’s of 4.52–9.04 mmol/L the S-NIH2 equation tended to calculate lower values than measured by dLDL-C and the E-MH equation calculated higher values. Both equations correlated better with the dLDL-C measured on Abbott than Roche with the E-MH equation having more values falling within acceptable concordance levels on both platforms.
The E-MH equation correlates better with dLDL-C than the S-NIH2 on both platforms with TG levels up to 9.04 mmol/L. With hypertriglyceridaemia, the E-MH equation is less likely than the S-NIH2 equation to underestimate LDL-C when compared to the dLDL-C and will be less likely to underdiagnose patients with LDL-C levels requiring treatment according to current guidelines.

The Upper Cambrian at the Martin Point section (∼110 m-thick) in western Newfoundland is a part of the Cow Head Group and partially spans the coeval Tuckers Cove and the Martin Point members of the ...Shallow Bay and Green Point formations, respectively. These units comprise alternating shale, minor conglomerate beds, and limestone rhythmites of a toe-of-slope apron. Earlier studies of the C-isotope profile, based on the lime mudstone interbeds, documented global negative δ13Ccarb shifts (from old to young: NL1, NL2, HERB) correlated with the lowermost Proconodontus posterocostatus, Proconodontus muelleri and base of Eoconodontus notchpeakensis conodont zones, respectively (post-Steptoean Positive Carbon Isotope Excursion NL1 and NL2 and Hellnmaria-Red Tops Boundary-HERB). Samples were extracted from the most preserved spots of micritic to near-micritic grain size (≤4 μm−10 μm). Fabric retention confirms petrographic preservation and insignificant correlations (R2 ≤ 0.1) of diagenetic proxies (e.g., Sr) with their environmental counterparts support the preservation of at least near-primary geochemical signatures. The paleoenvironmental proxies (TOC, Zn, P, Cu, Al/Ti, Mn, Fe, V, Mo) support dominant dysoxic conditions. The δ66Zn values (0.09–0.73 ‰ JMC Lyon) and (I/(Ca + Mg)) ratios (0.02–0.48 μmol/mol) vary consistently throughout the studied events. The minor decreases in δ66Zn values seem to denote inhibition of bioproductivity in a dysoxic water column, consistent with warm and humid climate during general transgressive settings and shoaling of organic-rich water into the shallow environment. The low I/(Ca + Mg) ratios (<0.5 μmol/mol) reinforce this interpretation, suggesting general dysoxic settings throughout the entire section.
•Upper Cambrian carbonates in western Newfoundland retaining at least near-primary paleoenvironmental proxy signatures.•Organic-rich water shoaling into a shallow environment and leading to dysoxic conditions.•Zn isotope and I/(Ca + Mg) ratios consistent with abundant low-oxygen conditions.
