Historically, oral sex is part of human sexual behaviour even though some consider it taboo, and its expression is deemed inappropriate. Human rights also stand out as technology becomes more ...sophisticated, leading to its practice disclosure in the 21
st century. The large-scale oral sex discussion in media encourages people to express it, and there is feedback on whether it is right or not. It all depends on each person's values. We found this sexual behaviour occurs everywhere regardless of religion, culture and race.
Pop culture influences this behaviour considerably. It can be seen in music, movies and television programmes that allude to oral sex. Numerous motivations underlying this behaviour include sexual pleasure for the sake of psychological well-being. It is undeniable that this behaviour is still controversial. There is a risk of it causing disease, but it reportedly provides many benefits.
Oral sex is not a new behaviour crossing boundaries, according to our theory. It is an old behaviour that has been highlighted because of the factors that support it. This behaviour, still considered taboo, has its disadvantages, such as sexually transmitted disease and oral cancer, but also has benefits, such as preventing preeclampsia.
This study investigated short-term effects of exposure to hip-hop music videos with varying degrees of sexual imagery on viewers' acceptance of the objectification of women, sexual permissiveness, ...gender attitudes, and rape myth acceptance. Using a posttest-only group experimental design, college undergraduates (N = 195) viewed a set of 5 hip-hop music videos of either high or low sexual content. Male participants who were exposed to hip-hop music videos of highly sexual content expressed greater objectification of women, sexual permissiveness, stereotypical gender attitudes, and acceptance of rape at posttest than male participants in the low sex condition. Results for female participants were mixed. In addition, hip-hop fandom played a significant role in participants' objectification of women and sexual permissiveness. Implications are discussed within the frameworks of vicarious learning through the media and parasocial interaction with media figures.
The present study examined the effects of sexual objectification of female artists in music videos on male undergraduates' sexual beliefs. Findings showed that participants who viewed music videos of ...highly objectified female artists reported more adversarial sexual beliefs, more acceptance of interpersonal violence, and, at a level of marginal significance, more negative attitudes about sexual harassment than participants assigned to low-sexual objectifying music videos by the same female artists. Path models indicated that adversarial sexual beliefs mediated the relationship between condition, and (1) acceptance of interpersonal violence and (2) negative attitudes regarding sexual harassment.
Emotions, formed in the process of perceiving external environment, directly affect human daily life, such as social interaction, work efficiency, physical wellness, and mental health. In recent ...decades, emotion recognition has become a promising research direction with significant application values. Taking the advantages of electroencephalogram (EEG) signals (i.e., high time resolution) and video‐based external emotion evoking (i.e., rich media information), video‐triggered emotion recognition with EEG signals has been proven as a useful tool to conduct emotion‐related studies in a laboratory environment, which provides constructive technical supports for establishing real‐time emotion interaction systems. In this paper, we will focus on video‐triggered EEG‐based emotion recognition and present a systematical introduction of the current available video‐triggered EEG‐based emotion databases with the corresponding analysis methods. First, current video‐triggered EEG databases for emotion recognition (e.g., DEAP, MAHNOB‐HCI, SEED series databases) will be presented with full details. Then, the commonly used EEG feature extraction, feature selection, and modeling methods in video‐triggered EEG‐based emotion recognition will be systematically summarized and a brief review of current situation about video‐triggered EEG‐based emotion studies will be provided. Finally, the limitations and possible prospects of the existing video‐triggered EEG‐emotion databases will be fully discussed.
In this paper, a new channel selection technique is presented for emotion classification by electroencephalography (EEG) signals. Audio-visual stimulation is used to generate emotions at the time of ...experiment. After recording of EEG signals, feature extraction and classification has been applied to classify the emotions (happy, angry, sad and relaxing). The main highlights of the study include: 1) identification/characterization of audio-visual stimulation which generate harmful emotions and 2) proposed approach to reduce the number of EEG channels for emotion classification. Intention behind identification of audio-visual stimulation (video) responsible for harmful emotions like sad and anger is to control their access over social media and another public platform. EEG channels are selected on the basis of their activation probability, calculated from the correlation matrix of EEG channels. Three types of features are extracted from EEG signals, time domain, frequency domain and entropy based. After feature extraction three different algorithms, support vector machine (SVM), artificial neural network (ANN) and naïve bayes (NB) are used to classify the emotions. This study is conducted over the DEAP (Database for emotion analysis using Physiological signals) database of EEG signals recorded at different emotional states of several subjects. To compare performance after channel selection, parameters like accuracy, average precision and average recall are calculated. After result analysis, ANN is found as best classifier with 97.74% average accuracy. Among listed features, entropy-based features are found as best features with 90.53% average accuracy.
•Net displacement of the Billboard 200 caused by YouTube is examined empirically, identified by a blackout of Warner material.•The data used are actual album sales, which appears unique in the ...literature.•Streaming displaces sales, particularly among best-selling albums, but a promotional effect dominates among the lower ranked.
In this paper I exploit the removal of Warner Music content from YouTube in January 2009, and its restoration in October 2009, as a plausible natural experiment to investigate the impact of online content availability on album sales. I find that this blackout on YouTube had both statistically and economically significant positive effects on Warner albums, which are quickly moderated as top-selling albums are dropped from the sample. Results also show that albums that have a very successful debut face more displacement from YouTube videos, while the effect on lower debuting albums may be moderated by a promotional effect.
Recently, a growing number of studies have shown a relationship between exposure to risk-glorifying media and risky driving perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors. The present study contributes to ...this line of research by examining emerging adults' behavioral approach system (BAS) and behavioral inhibition system (BIS) as moderators of the relationship between music video-viewing and joyriding attitudes. A cross-sectional survey among a sample of 539 emerging adults (ages 18-24) was conducted to examine the relationships between these constructs. Advanced moderation analyses indicated that, after controlling for sensation-seeking, physical aggression, gender, BIS, and BAS, the relationship between music video-viewing and joyriding attitudes only existed for respondents with a low BIS profile. Thus, low sensitivity to punishment functioned as a condition for the relationship between music video-viewing and joyriding attitudes. Furthermore, the results provided initial evidence for the hypothesis that the relationship between sensation-seeking and joyriding attitudes is explained by respondents' BAS scores. Accordingly, it seems advisable to include BIS and BAS in future media research. The present study also has important implications for the construction and planning of prevention campaigns, which are extensively discussed.
This essay presents the viral culture of videos, memes, and websites deploying the tropes of parody and satire as a newly emerging discourse of social and cultural critique on the Indian web. It ...situates this cultural phenomenon at the intersection of a prior tradition of heterodoxy in India as well as the globally proliferating memetic culture. The essay argues that the speech is distinguished by a logic of repetition with difference both in its parodic/satiric text as well as through its medium that allows the text to repeat at new sites creating new meanings.
Zayn Malik's debut solo album, Mind of Mine (2016), topped numerous charts worldwide and made him the only British male solo artist to have debuted at the top of the prestigious Billboard 200 album ...chart with a first album, thus extending the astounding commercial success he had previously achieved with the boy band One Direction. This article examines the considerable changes to image and style that accompanied Zayn's transition to a solo career, and argues that a primary motivation for his reconfiguration as an artist lies in opposing the common stereotypes and prejudices associated with the boy band format. My methodological approach is grounded in critical musicology and involves investigating issues of personal narrative, sonic production, and audiovisual aesthetics. By analyzing the music video Pillowtalk (2016), I demonstrate how provocative lyrical themes, shock effects, and surreal aesthetics showcase Zayn's masculinity as dangerous and seductive. Even though Zayn's fashioning of masculinity calls attention to how gendered identities are constructed and performed in pop, I conclude that his representation in Pillowtalk conforms to heteronormative gender dynamics as much as it challenges them.
