We present information on the occurrence of colubrid vine snakes ( Oxybelis ) and dipsadid sharpnose snakes ( Xenoxybelis ) from the lowlands of Bolivia. These genera have been poorly reported from ...Bolivia and information presented herein includes nine new record provincials from the departments of Beni, Cochabamba, La Paz, Pando, and Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Moreover, we present the first records of Oxybelis inkaterra Jadin, Jowers, Orlofske, Duellman, Blair & Murphy, 2021 from Bolivia and we extend the known range of this species by approximately 207 km (Río Sipia, La Paz) and 628 km (Campamento Guacharos, Cochabamba) southeast of the type locality (Puerto Maldonado, Peru) in South America. In addition, we present morphometric information, meristic characters, coloration pattern, ecological aspects and natural history for the three species of vine snakes ( O. aeneus , O. fulgidus , O. inkaterra ) and two species of sharpnose snakes ( X. argenteus , X. boulengeri ) from the Bolivian lowlands.
An overview of the orchid genus Corybas in Vietnam is presented. It was known to be represented by a single species, C. annamensis. In this article, we report two new records, C. himalaicus, and C. ...geminigibbus. Detailed descriptions, synonyms, type data, information on ecology and phenology, distribution and color plates are provided for all three species along with the key to their identification.
The study presents a new collection of Psocodea (Insecta) from Unguja Island (Zanzibar, Tanzania), conducted during March 3rd to 9th, 2024. Despite recent efforts to explore Psocodea fauna in ...equatorial and tropical Africa, comprehensive studies in East Africa, particularly along the east coast and inland areas, remain limited. This research contributes to filling these gaps by documenting 16 species, including nine new records for the Zanzibar autonomic region and seven new records for Tanzania. Notably, one species (Nanopsocus sp.) may potentially be new to science.
New records for Türkiye of Ceutorhynchinae weevils are reported. Poophagus sisymbrii (Fabricius, 1977) is reported for the first time from Türkiye. In addition, Datonychus melanostictus (Marsham, ...1802), Pelenomus commari (Panzer, 1795) and Rhinonchus bruchoides (Herbst, 1784), already known from the Anatolian part of Türkiye, are recorded for the first time from Turkish Thrace. Additional localities of a few species already known from Thrace region are also given.
Nisotra chrysomeloides Jacoby, 1885, N. dohertyi (Maulik, 1926), N. gemella (Erichson, 1834), and Nisotra nigripes Jacoby, 1894 are redescribed with illustrations of aedeagi, antennae, gonocoxae, ...abdominal ventrite VIII, and spermathecae. Nisotra nigripes is recorded for the first time from Taiwan. The immature stages and life history of N. gemella were studied in the laboratory using a novel rearing design. Four synonyms previously proposed are confirmed: Sphaeroderma javana de Motschulsky, 1866, S. orbiculata de Motschulsky, 1866, Nisotra bowringi Baly, 1876, and Podagrica hibisci Bryant, 1941 with N. gemella (Erichson, 1834). Lectotypes are designated for Haltica gemella Erichson, 1834, N. chrysomeloides Jacoby, 1885, N. bowringi Baly, 1876, and Podagrica hibisci Bryant, 1941.
Arctosa cervina is removed from a junior synonym of Arctosa subamylacea, because it can be distinguished by the morphology of the epigyne and palpal organ. Arctosa cervina is newly recorded in Japan ...by the specimens collected in Saitama and Yamanashi Prefectures.
