This study aims at developing a set of appropriate performance evaluation indices mainly based on balanced scorecard (BSC) for extension education centers in universities by utilizing multiple ...criteria decision making (MCDM). Through literature reviews and experts who have real practical experiences in extension education, adequate performance evaluation indices have been selected and then utilizing the decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) and analytic network process (ANP), respectively, further establishes the causality between the four BSC perspectives as well as the relative weights between evaluation indices. According to this previous result, an empirical analysis of the performance evaluation of extension education centers of three universities at Taoyuan County in Taiwan is illustrated by applying VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR). From the analysis results, it indicates that “Learning and growth” is the significant influential factor and it would affect the other three perspectives. In addition, it is discovered that “Internal process” perspective as well as “Financial” perspective play important roles in the performance evaluation of extension education centers. The top three key performance indices are “After-sales service”, “Turnover volume”, and “Net income”. The proposed evaluation model could be considered as a reference for extension education centers in universities to prioritize their improvements on the key performance indices after performing VIKOR analyses.
Implementacija nelinearnih modela, poput umjetnih neuronskih mreža (UNM ), u ovoj domeni omogućava prepoznavanje uzoraka i rješavanje kompleksnih problema povezanih s krmnim smjesama. Primjena UNM u tehnologiji proizvodnje krmnih smjesa, uz ispravno odabranu strukturu, algoritme učenja i prijenosne funkcije, omogućava naprednu optimizaciju procesa, uključujući upravljanje proizvodnim postrojenjem, skladištenje i transport sirovina.
Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are increasingly present in agriculture, particularly in the production of feed mixtures, where they enable producers to optimize production processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency. The implementation of nonlinear models, such as artificial neural networks (UNM), in this field enables pattern recognition and the solution of complex problems related to feed mixtures. The application of UNM in the technology of feed mixture production, with a properly chosen structure, learning algorithms and transfer functions, allows advanced optimization of the process, including the management of the production plant, storage and transportation of materials. These models offer new opportunities to improve the quality of the final product, taking into account all the factors that influence it. Through this customization, AI provides tools for fast and efficient decision making, leading to improved automation and efficiency in compound feed production.
The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in changes in the working environment which shifted the type of systems thinking skills needed for practitioners. These changes include the utilization of a ...digitalized work environment. To reliably assess practitioners' systems thinking (ST) skills/abilities in a digitalized environment, such as the case of COVID-19, we propose an evaluation approach based on the hybrid weight determination and extended VIKOR model to assess the systems skills of practitioners concerning 7-dimensions of systems thinking. The proposed methodology consists of three phases: the first phase uses a rough set theory to process the assessment data of candidates' systems thinking skills, the ideal interval references of seven systems thinking skills criteria (7-dimension) of practitioners required by an organization is extracted. The second phase is to build a comprehensive weight solution model based on BWM (best-worst method) and entropy weight method (EWM) and analyze the employer's needs under each systems thinking skills dimension. The third phase is to build a new group utility index based on the weight and digital reference and form an extended Vlsekriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (E-VIKOR) model to complete the prioritization of practitioners' systems thinking skillset. A case study containing 108 practitioners is conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed decision-making model and carry out sensitivity analysis and methods comparison. The results show that the proposed model provides more reliable and robust results for selecting the most appropriate practitioner for the required digitalized job requirements.
As a contemporary product of Internet of Things, wearable devices that are closely related to consumer health have received widespread attention from various nations and industries. Thus, the use of ...wearable devices has become a significant scientific problem requiring an urgent solution. In this article, we consider the characteristics of wearable devices, consumers, the market, safety, and the environment to analyze consumer behavior. A multiple attribute decision-making (MADM) model is used in this article, including the decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) technique, the DEMATEL-based analytic network process (DANP) method, and the modified Vlse Kriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) method. Based on expert data and the index system of criteria for consumer adoption of wearable devices, we evaluate the relationship between criteria and their weight of impact to create an influential network relationship map by using the DEMATEL technique, comprehensively analyze the correlation between consumer behaviors and products, clearly identify the relative gaps between criteria and the optimal level, and recommend improvements through the DANP. Finally, we use three specific products as examples to analyze consumer satisfaction for different criteria based on the modified VIKOR method. The results reveal that there are gaps between product performance and the optimal level, and product promotion strategies are proposed that would narrow the performance gaps of these three wearable devices by prioritizing the factors that required improvement.
The countries of Central and Eastern Europe moved from a previously centrally planned economy to a modern transition economy with strong market aspects. This paper proposes project management as an ...answer to this transition. Traditional Cost-Benefit analysis does not respond to this purpose. Indeed Cost-Benefit analysis is only interested in one specific project and not in a competition between projects. In addition all goals (objectives) have to be translated into money terms, leading sometimes to immoral consequences. On the contrary Multi-Objective Optimization takes care of different objectives, whereas the objectives keep their own units. However different methods exist for the application of Multi-Objective Optimization. The authors tested them after their robustness resulting in seven necessary conditions. MOORA (Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio analysis) and MULTIMOORA (MOORA plus Full Multiplicative Form), assisted by Ameliorated Nominal Group and Delphi Techniques, satisfy the seven conditions, although in a theoretical way. A simulation exercise illustrates the use of these methods, ideals to be strived for as much as possible.
Confronting the dilemma of resource shortage and environmental pollution, the idea of circular economy (CE) has attracted widespread attentions. To address these problems, several industrial ...companies have incorporated the CE in their operation or design. In this sense, the phosphorus chemical firms (PCFs) are promoting CE to achieve sustainable development goals since phosphorus is a non-renewable resource and one of the nutrient elements essential for crop growth. Thus, this paper aims to find a suitable way to assess the performance of CE for PCFs. Firstly, the evaluation index system of CE is designed according to the characteristics of CE for PCFs. Then, a new framework based on the qualitative flexible (QUALIFLEX) and Vlsekriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) methods is established to pick out the best enterprise. The linguistic neutrosophic number (LNN) is advised to describe decision making information with linguistic true, hesitant and false membership degree. Moreover, an entropy-based approach is used to determine the index weights, and the VIKOR method is presented to determine the concordance index. After that, all possible permutations are itemized, and the ranking result is obtained according to the general concordance index values of each permutation. Finally, an example of assessing the performance of CE for PCFs in China is given to illustrate the proposed method, and its feasibility is demonstrated. The robustness and advantage of this approach are also indicated with sensitivity and comparison analysis. The results show that the proposed VIKOR-QUALIFLEX method is reliable and stable for assessing the performance of CE for PCFs, and provides references for the construction and management of CE for PCFs.

Supplier segmentation is an important strategic activity for companies. The main purpose of segmenting suppliers is to more easily manage a large number of suppliers by formulating relationship ...management strategies for subsets of suppliers, which is more efficient than separate unique strategies for each supplier. Existing supplier segmentation approaches have paid limited attention to environmentally related criteria. Given the increased importance of sustainable and green supply chains, this points a large gap in the literature. Thus, a green supplier segmentation model is proposed in this study. A supplier potential matrix is used to evaluate suppliers with respect to two dimensions, capabilities and willingness, with respect to environmental issues. Given the multicriteria nature of this problem, a novel hybrid multicriteria methodology is used to evaluate the problem. Rough set theory is used to calculate the weight of each criterion for suppliers' capabilities and suppliers' willingness. VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) is then used to determine an overall score for each supplier. Finally, fuzzy C-means is used to segment the suppliers while considering the overall score for each supplier. An application of the proposed model for suppliers of a large chemical company is used to evaluate the feasibility of this technique.
PurposeThe introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has had a substantial influence on the retail industry. However, AI adoption entails considerable responsibilities and risks for ...senior managers. In this study, the authors developed an evaluation and selection mechanism for successful AI technology adoption in the retail industry. The multifaceted measurement and identification of critical factors (CFs) can enable retailers to adopt AI technology effectively and maintain a sustainable competitive advantage.Design/methodology/approachThe evaluation and adoption of organisational AI technology involve multifaceted decision-making for management. Therefore, the authors used the analytic network process to develop an AI evaluation framework for calculating the weight and importance of each consideration. An expert questionnaire survey was distributed to senior retail managers and 17 valid responses were obtained. Finally, the Vlse Kriterijumska Optimizacija Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) method was used to identify CFs for AI adoption.FindingsThe results revealed five CFs for AI adoption in the retail industry. The findings indicated that after AI adoption, top retail management is most concerned with factors pertaining to business performance and minor concerned about the internal system's functional efficiency. Retailers pay more attention to technology and organisation context, which are matters under the retailers' control, than to external uncontrollable environmental factors.Originality/valueThe authors developed an evaluation framework and identified CFs for AI technology adoption in the retail industry. In terms of practical application, the results of this study can help AI service providers understand the CFs of retailers when adopting AI. Moreover, retailers can use the proposed multifaceted evaluation framework to guide their adoption of AI technology.
