Politics and media development in our days is terrifying. Manipulation is dominating the social space. The so-called Overton window concept show us how, by way of “fake news” in a particular setting, ...certain completely unacceptable opinions slowly become part of the social consensus. Without understanding this change, people become deprived of their freedom and begin to feel more and more helpless. Five hundred years ago, theologian Martin Luther (1483-1546) rose against such attempts, defending his theological beliefs form estranged and twisted interpretations. In his essay, On Christian Freedom (1520), he took a firm position. Using a twofold thesis - that the Christian is both a free man and master of everything so he is not subjected to anyone, and that the Christian is also a humble servant to everyone and that he is subjected to everyone - he clarified that faith and love lead the Christian in all his activities and works. Luther clarified that in faith and love a fullness of the relationship between God and His loved ones - the mankind - is achieved, thus being humble does not mean giving up on our freedom; instead, it means to have the strength and courage to achieve it! Based on the four dimensions of freedom - political, social, identity, and dialogue - Luther provides an insight into his own understanding of freedom, which is still applicable in today’s social climate and the challenges of this age. These four dimensions helps the believer to take a clear stance against targeted attempts at deception which are immersed in “fake news.”
The paper talks about the renowned Anabaptist reformer, Balthasar Hubmaier, whose works were a significant contribution to the development of the early Anabaptist movement. In 2018 we mark the 490th ...anniversary of his death of being burned at the stake for his religious beliefs. In the paper, we see an outline of Hubmaier’s biography and an overview of his creative work. Special attention is given to his first work from June 1524, which contains 18 articles, and is called, “Achtzehn schluß rede so betreffende ein gantz Cristlich leben.” The articles show Hubmaier’s view on theology, ecclesiology, and pastorology at the beginning of his reformation work.
The further affirmation of Reformation theological legacy in contemporary European cultures requires its creative reinterpretation in order to make meaningful the original value of its fundamental ...theological content and at the same time respond to new questions and dilemmas that emanate from a stratified cultural habitus of the late modernity. Substantial redirecting of the Reformation theology should follow the logos of God’s reality rather than the logos of modernity within theoretical, methodological and epistemological boundaries that will warrant a more even-handed and fruitful dialogue between theology and culture. To bring to fruition the ideals of peace, freedom and justice on the basis of faith in Christ’s transforming love, it needs to be situated in the contemporary apocalyptic theology that takes seriously the traditional reformation doctrine of sin and repentance and brings together the present and future aspect of Christ’s apocalypse of freedom, peace and justice. By living a new life in Christ, Christian communities can testify to the fullness of life based on the faith in the transforming effects of God’s presence in history and on the hope in the final dissolution of evil in God’s promised future.
The focus of this examination is on Hegel’s Lectures on the Philosophy of History, particularly the final chapters in which, among other things, Hegel posits that no change in legal freedoms can be ...expected without the liberation of conscience and that it is illusory to expect the revolution to succeed if it is not preceded by religious reformation. It is an attempt to critically rethink Hegel’s views on reformation, revolution and history in the light of modern religious, theological, philosophical, political, scientific and cultural theses and research. The philosophy of history is observed as something of a key to understanding Hegel’s (often hermetic) philosophical ideas. At the same time, his brilliant insights are reimagined in the context of the contemporary revival of the phenomena of religion/faith.
Croatia is predominantly “Christian” (over 90 percent), yet is among the most corrupt countries in the EU. The complexity of Croatian culture and history have added to the problems of corruption, leadership and a negative attitude towards work. Through pilot projects, we saw that an integrated view of faith and work through a clearly communicated biblical framework can contribute to the solution. Surveys confirmed that context, culture and biblical illiteracy are key factors that must be taken into account. This thesis-project proposes more intentional, contextualized, faith based projects to bridge the value gap and contribute to a more ethical culture in Croatia.

Članak razmatra načela i metode tumačenja Biblije Matije Vlačića
dijelu Vlačićeva načela i metode tumačenja Pisma.
Vlačić, treba okrenuti k još revnijem prakticiranju povijesno-gramatič-ke metode i predanijem pokušaju rekonstrukcije tradicionalnog tuma-čenja Pisma unutar crkvene tradicije.
Reformacija i revolucija spadaju u onu grupu pojmova koje, unatoč općeprihvaćenom značenjskom sadržaju, nije do kraja jednostavno odrediti niti ih promatrane u suodnosu jasno međusobno razlikovati.
