Аbstract. The current state of the implementation of digital technologies in Ukraine and the world in the context of the information economy development is studied. The key differences are ...identified, the need for systematic action at both regional and national levels for the effective implementation of digitalization is substantiated. Data on the level of the digital economy development in Ukraine in general, and in the regions in particular, as well as examples of successful implementation of digitalization in some countries, are presented. It is investigated that Ukraine is one of the first places in Europe in terms of population with the Internet access.
It is established that the process of digitalization of Ukraine’s economy is qualitatively different from that in developed countries. In the context of rapid development of information economy in order to bridge the existing gap with developed countries in the digitalization process, Ukraine needs to implement a number of measures, including: creating a regulatory framework for digital economy, introducing and promoting digital platforms and services for business and population, establishing education systems in order to effectively train specialists in the digital age, creating an effective digital infrastructure, promoting the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies in industry, etc. The implementation of the proposed actions will bring Ukraine closer to the digitalization level of developed countries and increase social and economic development of the state.
The article outlines the components of digital transformation of the regions of Ukraine, among which the emphasis is on creating an effective digital infrastructure; the introduction of Industry 4.0 technologies in industry; e-government and training of the workforce according to the requirements of digital economy. It is noted that the digitalization process should be systemic in nature at both national and regional levels.

Sustainability as a policy concept has its origin in the Brundtland Report of 1987. That document was concerned with the tension between the aspirations of mankind towards a better life on the one ...hand and the limitations imposed by nature on the other hand. In the course of time, the concept has been re-interpreted as encompassing three dimensions, namely social, economic and environmental. The paper argues that this change in meaning (a) obscures the real contradiction between the aims of welfare for all and environmental conservation; (b) risks diminishing the importance of the environmental dimension; and (c) separates social from economic aspects, which in reality are one and the same. It is proposed instead to return to the original meaning, where sustainability is concerned with the well-being of future generations and in particular with irreplaceable natural resources—as opposed to the gratification of present needs which we call well-being. A balance needs to be found between those two, but not by pretending they are three sides of the same coin. Although we use up natural resources at the expense of future generations, we also generate capital (including knowledge) which raises future well-being. A major question is to what extent the one compensates for the other. This debate centres around the problem of substitutability, which has been cast into a distinction between ‘weak’ and ‘strong’ sustainability. It is argued that these two do not need to be in opposition but complement one another.
This study aims at identifying the pattern of exports by the Paraná mesoregions in the years 2001, 2011 and 2021. In order to do so, the Regional Location Quotient Method Analysis was applied. The ...results demonstrated that the extraction sectors, such as wood and pearls, have a higher concentration in some regions, given their intrinsic characteristics, whereas the export of goods, which requires less skilled labour and less intensive capital, is more dispersed among the mesoregions.
Indicators of socio-economic development of the regions of Ukraine demonstrate a tendency to increase disproportions, which are significantly intensified in the conditions of military operations. In ...addition to the deterioration of performance indicators, this trend leads to the fragmentation of the country's economic space. Regulation of regional development does not contribute to the reduction of disparities, in particular, due to shortcomings in the assessment, interpretation of indicators of disparities and modeling of their dynamics, which leads to the definition of unrealistic goals of regulation. Taking into account the need to ensure the connection between short-term and long-term planning of regional development, the purpose of the article is to develop theoretical and empirical foundations aimed at regulating dynamic processes in the indicators of regional development disproportions. To achieve the goal, the following tasks were chosen: to analyze the models of convergent-divergent processes of regional development imbalances, to build models of long-term interaction of indicators of imbalances in the spheres of life, to determine the basis for assessing the crisis dynamics of regional indicators. Methodology. To regulate the development of regions, a model of long-term interaction of indicators of disproportions in various spheres has been developed. The process component of the study of dynamic processes in the indicators of regional disproportions and forecasting of crisis situations in the spheres of regional activity, which covers the tasks, tools and main results of the study, has been formed. The paper investigates the long-run interaction of inequality indicators in different areas using econometric dynamic vector autoregressive and error correction models (VAR&ECM). This makes it possible to identify and predict non-stationary impulse processes in general, to identify trends relevant to individual phases of activity, to identify the relationship and interdependence of the trajectory of imbalances. The research tools are designed to solve a set of tasks on the regulation of imbalances. The originality of the article lies in the application of the modeling results in the form of interrelationships of disproportions for different time intervals in the formation of a set of programs and preventive measures to manage regional development disproportions. This also enhances the practical significance of the study. Practical implication. The data obtained as a result of the study of the dynamic processes of disproportion indicators can be taken into account in solving a set of tasks to regulate the disproportions of regional development, developing a set of measures for the implementation of regional strategies, financial and budgetary regulation of regional development, determining budget expenditures for solving problems arising from disproportions.
Ralámuri handicrafts have managed to cross the borders of the world, placing them as one of the favorites and of greatest interest to national and foreign tourists, however, the prices for these ...products are low. This article analyzes the artisan work from the perspective of the Ralámuri woman and the cost of production to establish the sale prices. Its purpose is to analyze the worldview of the Ralámuri artisan woman, in terms of the cost of production, according to their ideologies and customs. The applied research, of a descriptive type, combines the analytical-synthetic and deductive theoretical methods, in addition, it is important to highlight that the analysis combined qualitative and quantitative aspects, developed with tools such as semi-structured interview, field trips participatory observation days and surveys among Ralámuri women. Throughout the text, the relationship with the raw materials to make their handicrafts is comprehensively analyzed, resulting in an integral worldview of nature, which provides the necessary material for the generation of their handicrafts, without generating an extra cost of production, this allows handicrafts to be given at a low cost according to their interpretation.
The development of scientific knowledge in recent years has necessitated the systematization of regional issues through the prism of the population and settlements. The population-territory ...development model is largely imposed, as the definition of basic fundamental formulations related to the clarification of the subject area of regional development and regional policy. The exhibition considers the possibility of systematization of the scientific tools of regional development and the definition of its problem area as a result of demographic findings. It is expressed in the framing of the separate scientific directions and theoretical formulations in the development of the regional science in the context of the demographic situation in regional and local plan.
The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on economic growth and to determine the state of the economy and health in North Kalimantan Province, as well as to find ...out which sectors are most affected. The method used in this research is descriptive statistical analysis, while to measure the health condition of the economy in North Kalimantan Province, 2 (two) indicators are used, namely the Effective reproduction rate (Rt) and the rate of economic growth which are grouped into 4 quadrants, meanwhile to measure the affected sector, Fuzzy C-Means is used. The results show that the economic growth of North Kalimantan Province in the second quarter experienced a contraction of up to -3.14% but in the third quarter it got better even though it still grew minus at -1.46%. The state of the economy of North Kalimantan Province in the second quarter of 2020 is based on calculations with the indicator of the effective reproduction rate (𝑅𝑡) and the economic growth rate of North Kalimantan Province is in the fourth quadrant which means that the number of positive cases of Covid-19 is still low but the economy is also low due to the spread of Covid-19 prevention policies, namely PSBB. Whereas in the third quarter of 2020, North Kalimantan Province is in the first quadrant, which means that economic growth is still below the average economic growth in Kalimantan, but the effective reproduction rate (𝑅𝑡) has increased, which is due to the relaxation of the government. From the results of the research it is also known that there are 3 (three) business sectors / fields that are categorized as highly impacted sectors, namely mining and excavation, transportation and warehousing as well as providers of accommodation, food and drink.
This study examines the dynamic agglomeration economies through matching channel between human capital agglomeration, regional economic development, and housing prices. Using data from 31 Chinese ...provinces from 1999 to 2015, it employs a panel vector auto regression model to study the interactive relationships among these factors. Overall, the results show that human capital agglomeration has a positive long-term influence on housing prices and economic development, and has become a determinant of regional economic growth. Housing prices have a negative long-term influence on economic development. However, human capital accumulation responds positively to housing price in regions other than municipalities. These findings suggest that vie for talent through housing policy might not be effective in underdeveloped regions and could lead to misallocation of government fiscal resources.
•Relations among human capital, housing price and economic growth are examined by panel VAR model.•Human capital affects regional economic through labor market effects.•Regional economic affects human capital through its agglomeration and matching.•Housing price affects human capital through wealth effects or crowd-out effects.•Housing price affects regional economic through industrial agglomeration.
