Since the cooperation initiative of Maritime Silk Road was put forward, more and more countries and regions have joined maritime silk road trade. The shift of economic growth rate in China and the ...decline in import and export trade will inevitably have a certain impact on the economic growth of countries and regions along this route. Based on this, this study first analyzed the transmission channels of economic volatility spillover effects. And a transnational panel model and global vector auto-regression are used to study the spillover effect of China's economic development on economic variables of countries and regions along this line. After the 15th quarter, one standard deviation of China's real GDP has a significant positive impact on the real GDP of East Asian countries by 0.597%, averagely. And the autoregressive coefficient of economic spillover effecting of China's economic growth on these countries along Maritime Silk Road is 0.244, which is significant at 1%, indicating that the spillover effect is significant. The regression coefficient of spillover effect of China's economic development on GDP growth in countries along this route is 0.472, which is significant at 1%. And the regression coefficient of spillover effect of China's economic development on trade balance of countries along this line is 0.967, with a significance level of 1%. Based on these research results, suggestions are proposed in this study, China should first optimize its trade structure with countries and regions along the route, and customize different foreign trade policies based on the specific characteristics of countries along the route. While developing and improving trade relations with countries and regions along the route, we will further achieve outward direct investment in these countries and regions, reducing the negative impact of economic fluctuations on China's economic development. The research aims to promote the quality improvement of China's economic development and growth, and achieve win-win cooperation among countries along the Maritime Silk Road.

This paper examines the effects of air pollution on the number of startups and industry structures in China, using data on startups in various industries and air pollution at the county level. The ...research shows that air pollution has a significant negative impact on the number of startups, with a 1 μg/m3 rise in PM2.5 causing a 1.83% drop in the number of startups. The tertiary industry is most negatively impacted by air pollution, with a 1 μg/m3 rise in PM2.5 resulting in a 2.70% decline in the number of startups in this sector. Heterogeneity analysis reveals that sub-industries including scientific research and technical services, education, health and public services, and culture and entertainment are those that are most negatively impacted by air pollution. Nonlinear analysis shows that the harmful consequences of air pollution only become noticeable when the concentration of pollutants exceeds a particular point. Further research reveals that air pollution drives the relocation of entrepreneurial activity, which may be a significant influencing factor for local startups. This paper fills an academic gap on air pollution's effects on local economies and industrial structures. The results show that the natural environment is a crucial component of the business environment and has a significant practical impact on boosting regional economic vitality and promoting the transformation of industrial structures.

Ecological regulation and environmental protection are essential elements of the directions of energy and economic policy at the present stage. In some cases, the increasing environmental regulation ...can negatively affect economic growth, however a number of modern studies proves the opposite. Moderate environmental standards lead to the effect of innovation compensation, which has a positive effect on the micro and macro level. In this paper the influence of resource, ecological and other factors on the economic development of Russian regions is studied using panel data models with fixed and random effects. The influence of the ecological factor is revealed by including various indicators of the concern for the quality of the environment, after which the results are compared. In three of the four types of constructed models, the influence of the environmental factor, expressed by different indicators, is positive. The positive result can be explained by the fact that regulation in Russia remains quite liberal to the companies, and the threshold at which strict standards begin to slow down economic growth has not yet been passed. Other significant factors for the growth of regional economies are the availability of fixed assets, the number of employees, and the share of resource industries in gross added value.
The territorial proximity of economic and social agents operating in an activity can result in agglomeration economies related, among other things, to more ease of access to knowledge, training of ...skilled labor, raw materials and equipment. The problem of the present research is to understand if there is a concentration of timber products from forest-based industries in the state of Paraná. The goal of this study was to identify the regions of Paraná that make up the main cluster of the forest-based industry and analyze it from the perspective of the installed capacity for electric power generation from forest biomass. The research methodology adopted was multivariate analysis, by interdependence technique, through cluster analysis. This technique makes it possible to classify the Paraná regions into groups so that each region resembles the others in the cluster but differs from the other clusters based on a set of characteristics – number of forest-based industries, number of jobs in the forest-based industry, Tax Value Added and planted forest area. The results suggest the existence of two clusters. In the main cluster, all the Geographic Microregions exploit forest biomass for electric power generation, and account for 99.4% of the total capacity of Paraná in terms of electricity generation from forest biomass, with potential for expanding the installed capacity.
